Great episode guys, really enjoyed it, although I'm appalled by what you did to poor Terry. First you put a sticker on his car, and then you kidnap him to be your mascot! Poor unicorn was just driving his old 190E, minding his own business until his was jumped by two random blokes at Dover! We didn't realise how good we had it when the S6, M5 touring, Vantage V12 and all the other cars that got really silly engines stuffed into them were being built. I've always imagined they come about because Engineer 1 bet lunch that Engineer 2 couldn't fit an excessively large and silly engine into a very normal car, and Engineer 2 really fancied a posh lunch that day...
Absolutely awesome guys! You need to do more of these. Also, congratulations to Alex on the birth of his daughter, his life will never be the same again!!
Nice video as always but calling it a Lamborghini V10 is a myth. The V10 engine used in S6/S8/R8 and Lamborghini Gallardo was primarily developed by Audi. When Audi acquired Lamborghini in 1998, it began a significant overhaul of Lamborghini's operations, including its engine technology. Audi's engineering expertise played a crucial role in the development of this V10 engine.
Thank you, I was looking for a comment like this. I don't understand how any one can call himself a petrolhead if they call an audi V10 a lambo-engine. Audi 5.2v10 FSI was derived from the 4.2 V8 FSI engine that was used in RS4 B7 and R8 V8, and Lambo developed their own V10 that was later used in R8 V10.
Congratulations, Alex on the birth of your baby! ❤ Also, the influence of Top Gear, from the amount of these road trips we see on TH-cam, to the little comments like 'Buffeting', really do show how much of an impact the show has had on a generation. ❤
Im genuinely impressed you managed to make a video about fuel economy (wich I could care less about in my car ownership) entertaining as hell, good stuff lads.
Cruise control never gives me as good mpg as when I control it. It can't anticipate hills and such and even in steady & flat driving I find it does a few less mpg than I can manage. (I sometimes hypermile to give myself something to do when in solid traffic and tootling along)

First of all congratulations to Alex and the family, secondly what an amazing episode, the quality of the production was amazing, I could have been watching an episode of Top Gear. I absolutely love the podcasts and between the podcasts and TH-cam videos how about a monthly video of all the best bits and bloopers, I have listens to Rory’s VO of a string of expletives about 6 times and it gets funnier each time. Well done guys, keep it up.
I was expecting Taylor & Rory to sing the Go-Go's song Our Lips Are Sealed (replace lips with Fuel flap)! Pity that us who live overseas can't win the Audi.
What a trip!! Fantastic Also in my experience with my cars, aircon had absolutely no influence on the fuel consumption, doesn't matter if it was a petrol 1.2 or 2.0 diesel estate
Firstly congratulations on your new arrival Alex! Secondly, the channel was left in good hands with these guys. Brilliant entertainment and laughs along the way! Well done!
What an absolutely amazing motor this Audi S6 is, good on the VAG group for having the balls to make a V10 estate car! I mean 30 mpg for a ten cylinder lamborghini engine in an estate car,I've got a tiny Mini cooper s r53 and get 23 mpg around town,it just shows you what an amazing engine it is,powerful and efficient, Audi's are very good motors, you can't deny it!
30 mpg with a 2-ton NA V10 wagon is amazing. Keep in mind; BMW 118i/218i/318i's with their "economical" 1.5 3-cylinder are barely able to reach that in real-world usage, with 60% of the weight and 28% of the power of this V10

Great episode to ease the lump in my throat thinking about the last ever Grand Tour episode after watching the trailer for it...one can only hope the AutoAlex universe can last long enough to one day allow, in the same way, another great show to ease the same lump for this as this has done for me at the end of an era in motoring entertainment.
Alex, you as a German man might refer to it as 'Holland', but the country has been called 'Nederland' ('the Netherlands'/'die Niederlande') for well over 200 years!
Spaniard here, it may be officially "Países Bajos" (literal translation for "Nederland") but it's almost only the pedantics who use it, it's "Holanda" for most people.

What a coincidence! I just did a hypermiling trip last week, 905 km (562 miles) on a tank - but in my Hyundai i10, which only has a 35 liter tank! I made it with 2.8 liters to spare :)

@@Tiaan90 That is really impressive for a carbureted engine! My old Saab 900 GL from 1984 only went 12 km/l if the sun was shining, and it was going downhill with a tailwind, and had the carb adjusted the same day :D I imagine you could in the Cube, it's still somewhat aerodynamic with the rounded corners and such, and if you find a truck or camper to be behind, it should be no problem at all ;)

I imagine you could in the Cube, it's still somewhat aerodynamic with the rounded corners and such, and if you find a truck or camper to be behind, it should be no problem at all ;)
@@AIRDRAC Yeah, it had none of the emissions stuff left, I think the carb had 3 or 4 hoses connected 😅
Hahah, they're not the best on fuel, although, my dad once adjusted his 9000i he had when I was a kid, it took less than 6L/100km!
And I have actually ran the Cube on 5,5L/100km in the winter once on 60-80kph roads 😁
Congrats on the new Bub Alex! Love all the channels and you fill the void left by Topgear. Cheers from Australia
I don’t think the Amsterdam red light district is Taylor’s cup of tea. Know what I mean?….
Arent there guys to selling them self 😂 or stripping 😂
Sure it's a sausage fest.... Lol
But I think its is there are Lots of sausage Suckers in Amsterdam😂
There is a blue light district within the red light district for those men of culture who share Taylor’s tastes
I'm sure he'll find the rent boys
Great ep! Would have loved for you to do the whole ending in a cinematic climax; letter box ratio, heavily graded footage, suspenseful music (30:00 was perfect!). Either way, brilliant!
NETHERLANDS!!! FFS!
One of the best yet. The way you guys present, the stupid but fun videos, the obvious chemistry, its like old top gear never ended :)
Amazing video with a lot of banter and funny moments and also a great challenge. You guys are really creating great material!
Great car choice - what a beast that V10 is, hopefully you got to smoke it all the way home. Love a crazy road trip, and you two work well together 🤩😀 the laughter is very infectious. Top production as always.
Brilliant episode lads!! Well done. I think I was as stressed as you. And I'm on holiday on a beach!! Not good. Taylor's idea of a truck challenge is brilliant. Bring it on!
I recently drove to holland and i stopped at the rest stop where you taped the car and the esso where terry was introduced! Different cars tho i was in my 2020 DTEC civic and averaged 68mpg, love this idea and seriously impressed that v10 made it 👏
Great challenge and superb video with very nice elements like the map on the back window and Brenda on the directions board.
How is this channel consistently producing absolute BELTERS of videos?! What a team! I genuinely don't miss top gear or grand tour because of autoAlex, TDC and ATG.
Great video Rory and Taylor and thanks to the camera crew 👍🏻🏴
