Hey Marc, have you played around with the Dalla Corte Studio? The Mina is a little out of my budget, but the Studio is the next best thing I guess. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the Mina, but I thing it's the best in its price range. Can I have your opinion? Thanks, Remus
Hi Remus, We have the Studio in house. I've used it a little but have been focused mostly on the Mina. We will have some video coming on the Studio. Marc
Hi Maciek, Thanks for the question. You price range converts to $650 - $1,400 USD. Here's a direct link to all the machines we have in that range at the moment: www.wholelattelove.com/collections/super-automatic-espresso-machines?_=pf&pf_p_price=650%3A1400 Which I recommend depends on how you will use and what features are important to you. If you do not make milk based drinks I like the Jura A1 at $799USD = 738euro. If you tell me more about what's important to you I can offer other suggestions. Marc
Decent Espresso DE1 already doing this and with a much better user interface to take advantage of what the machine is truly capable of. Mark have you had a chance to to look at the DE1. Curious to know your thoughts on it. I know it might be tricky for you to comment on it since Whole Latte Love doesn't carry any of the decent espresso machines. Thanks
Hi Michael, Not tricky to comment on. As far as I know Decent only sells direct from Hong Kong and does not offer their products through dealers. Shipping to US is ~$200 plus there's an import tax. The Dalla Corte Mina and XT are plumbable NSF rated commercial machines designed for constant reliable use in busy coffee shops and high-end home use. Dalla Corte products are true machines while the Decent seems closer to an appliance. I know I can get inside a Mina or XT and make a repair. I have not been inside a Decent but I'm guessing there's a lot happening and a lot of proprietary parts and components which are not non-user serviceable. Then there are things like steaming. Decent says it's 35 seconds to steam 150ml of milk and last I heard you could not brew and steam simultaneously (thermoblock water heater?). On the DC machines it's ~10 seconds to steam 150ml of milk and you can brew and steam at the same time all day long. I suppose UI is a matter of opinion. I like the Mina interface. Can use any phone or tablet with the DC app in conjunction with the Mina. It's easy and intuitive to adjust flow rate steps and their timing within the app. Also can go fully manual with 5 steps of flow rate using the lever. All that said, please understand I'm not knocking Decent products. They likely have a place for someone who enjoys tinkering but I wonder about limitations. Decent machines have a lot of interesting capabilities but to me it's a lot like comparing some of the Breville espresso appliances to traditional Italian made espresso machines. The Breville's pack a lot of features in at a lower price point but with all that proprietary complexity there may be issues with long-term reliability.
Loved sentence of first sip as going through doorway. But now I'm scratching my head how could I capitalize my coffee talk on a level this gentleman has reached. I'm little bitchy today as machine blew gasket and I don't have a spare at home.
@@Wholelattelovepage Material is biggest issue, as I see it. I already cut additional seal from silicone swimming cap to put under main seal to build up thickness. I'd make seal had I flat elastic material of needed thickness. I've found matching seal 1mm thicker than normal and ordered it - if it works it could save me cutting swimming caps. Happily they let me go to pool without cap)!
Sorry about that. The video did go down over the weekend. Here's the link to Danilo Lodi's write up on flow profile adjustments based on roast level and coffee age from roast: static.wholelattelove.com/PDFs/Dalla+Corte+Roasted+coffee+vs+Flow+rate.pdf
Nice new background! This is way cleaner.👌
Hi Simon, Thanks for the comment!
Marc

Hello,
i would like to know which bracket you used for the mobile phone on the dalla corte mina
Hi WA, Thanks for the question. Sorry to say I do not remember. But I do recall it was purchased at Best Buy.
Marc
If you had 600-1200e to spend on an automatic coffee machine, what would you buy/recommend to someone else? Thanks!

Hi Marc, seems I have blown my own gasket as well and misunderstood you on coffee talk. Family is saying me same thing all the time)
Thought I had lost my mind. I knew I watched this over the weekend and wanted to download the PDF you referenced, but couldn't find the video today.
