Thanks for the feedback! To answer your question no I don’t notice. The vortex is meant to aid the wing so not having a wing negates it anyway. I just think they look cool
Hey mate, I'm looking to buy an 8 MR and I'm just trying to make sure I'm not getting deceived here but all the MR I find listed have no vortex generator. Was it an optional choice from factory? Or should every MR have one?
Hey, Thanks for the vid.. I've had my '03 Evo 8 for 10 years now and I added 2, inexpensive vortex generators. I put one on and it lasted a few years but eventually cracked near the roof drip moldings so I replaced it with another inexpensive one but now after a few years this one has also cracked. So i will be replacing this one as well along with fresh new roof drip moldings because mine are in really terrible shape.. basically silver now down by the rear window. The cheap vortex generators aren't bad. They fit fine and look great but I guess the problem lies within durability.. or longevity? lol idk.. But really things that sit on the roof of a car not garaged are going to bake.. Carbon fiber tends to turn yellow so I would never bother buying it. I don't plan on selling my car any time soon so I know I will have to replace some things over time. Can't wait to put on the roof moldings.. still waiting for the clips. Your Evo looks good.. all your black moldings look pretty fresh in the vid.
Hey man thanks! You’re right sometimes your paying for time. The cracking is weird I guess they just got weak in the sun like you said. I would make sure you seal it before installing to help it last longer and re-apply couple times a year. May help delay the inevitable
Any brands you'd recommend most for vortex generators for the X? (Actually have a Ralliart so looking for a flat one... Without the roof fin body lines) But yes I love this content! You know what you're talking about and how to do things correctly so I love the informative videos! Thanks!
I like this style of content better. Do you notice a difference with the vortex generator installed versus without it while driving?

I’d still go Rexpeed for the 10. They make one for steel roofs. Just choose the one made for sunroof cars. Thanks for the feedback I appreciate it!!
