After almost paying 3k to rewire my 57 Chevy Bel-Air, I saw this video and decided to go with an American Auto Wire harness and do it myself. I didn't think I could do it myself but My Friend Pete convinced me otherwise. Thank you Pete for convincing me to go with this product. I was intimidated when I first opened up the box but I remembered what you said in the video and looked at it in sections. Kind of like opening up a jigsaw puzzle. its a mess at first glance but everything falls into place and I'm glad I saw this video and went with this product. Thanks for mentioning this product and if you're ever in Vegas, look me up, I'll buy you a beer or twelve since American Auto Wire is too cheap to send you royalties. Looking forward to finishing wiring up my car.

Down here we usually need to refurbish the old harness. Usually wanna be electricians mess up and pull new wire here and there instead of tracing the culprit wire in the harness. A lot of trouble shooting and tracing, retaping, etc. went in my latest project (1994 Corolla).

After 5 years since this was filmed do you still like and use this wiring harness company? How about a harness for a 1965 Ford F250 camper special? Many thanks...Rob

So can you not use kwikwire for the mustang?
I have a 66 coupe that needs a wire harness and I noticed one of your videos where you recommend kwikwire.
I was hoping I could use kwikwire.

I built the body, dash, & engine harnesses for my 67 grand prix, back in the 80's.
Nuttin like what we have today was available back then. only oem was available at a very high price. And then not all three harnesses were to be had. So needless to say, I visited many a salvage yards looking for connector's and certain colored wires and lamp sockets.
Today's re builder's are spoiled rotten with all that's available.
At least we didn't have to fuck with " aftermarket bull shit " body parts. Salvage yards were a valuable asset in those days.

I notice some guys hide the wiring harness in the engine compartment is this something you're going to do with this mustang or are you going to locate it in the factory positions?

American Autowire is a great company to go to. I went threw them for my 79 RS Camaro and my 70 Heavy Chevy Chevelle. If your using aftermarket acc and need a harness for any of it, AA will make it. There layout is great and very detailed and labeled well.
Anyone who is into Chevy/GMC trucks from 46-87 and need anything for there trucks including a wire harness, brotherstrucks.com is the best place to go to hands down. There products are great and they have just about everything a person could need for there truck. They make and fabricate just about all there parts. They have saved me and my mates from a lot of headaches. They are great people to talk to and are very knowledgeable.

I purchased a AAW classic update series to re-wire my '68 firebird. I would agree you get good connectors and factory style plugs, etc. although the wire they provide is crap! It is the smallest gauge they can get away with, the print on the wire is blurry, hard to read. The instructions they provide are hard to follow, not thorough, if you plan adding any circuits other than factory your on your own to figure it out. I had to print out my own instruction manual because the printed manual they provide is hard to read, as if they were trying to save on paper clumping sections together. (many times left scratching your head trying to follow directions) Definately not the kit for the first time DIY installer for damn sure.

contact the company's you buy stuff from, let them know you have a big youtube audience, and if they could hook you up with what ever you need, in return for a shout out. I see other youtubers get alot if free shit and discounts from company's just for a shout out.

Hey Pete if you'd stop the profanity the vendors might like you better. I mean you are free to cuss all you want but this is probably a good reason why they are not being real nice to you.
