I find it kinda funny how easily Yunaka became one of the most recognizable characters from this game, all it took was having the potential to break the entire system and “Hiya Papaya!”
She's a loooot less cringey than I expected at a glance. Unlike many other tropey characters in recent games, she knows she's putting on the act and seems to be having fun with it, and despite having >DARK BACKSTORY< it doesn't feel overplayed or heavy handed. And she's very fun to watch interact with people. Holy brocc-oly!
I loved her because in my home country (Colombia) we do have some sayings that use the word "Papaya", being one of them something like "A papaya puesta, papaya partida" which roughly translates to: Papaya served, papaya eaten. That saying basically means that if you leave yourself open to being taken advantage of, you're going to get taken advantage of. Yunaka always makes sure of eating her papayas (enemies) when they're served.
That's why is easy to him say "daggers are best weapons" because he plays on Hard difficulty and pls... for FE real players is a very easy difficulty. xD
Man this game's so much fun, it feels like everything is so broken and has so much customization, there's so many ways to deal with stuff, it's a blast
this game rewards players that find tricky combos and experiment so much and punish who dont. Engage skills and attack if you can find a decent combo already make the game more doable in higher difficulty
You forgot one thing to mention. Yes enemies usually do not attack if they have 0 hit however they will still attack if there are chain attacks but since Corrin nullifies this it only makes the dragon vein Strat even better.
I had to double check if the Enel who posted is the same Xenoblade Enel. Unexpected, but pleasant surprise all the same. Glad to see you tap into Fire Emblem As for Yunaka, I sadly benched her and didn't realize what I was missing out on. Especially since she's right up my alley as a unit. Not very zappy, but that's what repeat playthroughs are for.
I actually got my Yunaka so high, that during the mission where you have to retreat the forrestmid game, I actually killed everyone on the map except the redacted boss character that you literally cannot kill. I even took out the monsters and the units with 3 revive crystals with basically just Yunaka and Clanne for the armored unit.
Honestly depending on the unit and the difficulty it'd just be "Use em them ditch em for this other unit that comes 3 maps later" for reference compare Lapis to, say, Kagetsu.
difference is in FE a lot of units are stop gaps for better units, pretty much just act as replacements/tide overs until you get better units like how Lapis is just a worse Kagetsu
Amazing video and incredible breakdown. I loved Yunaka from the moment I get her on my team, and it's great to see all these ways you can break down the stats and break the game. I'd love to see more videos like these for Engage, in particular for characters like Anna and Jean who just have a ton of potential, as well as some insane character + emblem combos.
Cool stuff. I don’t have the game yet, but I like seeing builds like this pop up to enjoy. Plus, I actually like Yunaka’s character. I wouldn’t mind seeing more Fire Emblem videos, but I understand your primary video content goals come first.
I would be super down to see more content on this game. There are just a lot of cool and honestly funny things that can be done to make characters strong, and it would be really cool to see what you do with some of the other characters.

Goddamnit, Enel found a way to dodge-tank in a different franchise. Ignoring jokes, Fire Emblem is one of my favorite franchises, so its nice seeing you do a video on a build for this franchise.
Super interested in more build videos for engage! I'm also excited it has potential for broken builds compared to previous FE games. Diamont seems really good for a sustain tank build and Fogado has a Vengeance-like personal which has usually been an op skill.

A great video as usual, it's fun seeing you branch out! Your XC2 content helped me a lot. As I've been digging into the game myself, here are some cliffnotes I'd like to add: - I don't know if I missed this when watching, but if resting Yunaka on a terrain tile with Corrin's Fog up bumps her terrain bonus to 120 before hit/avoid comes into play. This means you can guarantee 0% hit rate in some positions on the map, circumventing the hybrid RNG system the game runs for hit rate. - I would avoid stressing matters such as "You can grind exp with this if you need it" because commonly, most characters tend to be able to replicate those strats, and there are always skirmishes if you do want to grind easily. "If she's not good enough, get more stats" is a fairly moot point, or at least, better put in guides about the emblems instead of the playable characters (Which would be a much more doable task haha). Anyway, thanks for making Engage content, the game's really cool, love your stuff a lot!
Not gonna lie I love how literally EVERY video I have watched for this game so far have basically gone "Adopt dogs. Dogs. Just dogs. Nothing else. Just dogs. Dogs are your supreme ruler. Dogs are the altar you worship at. You don't like anything but dogs. For they grant the most useful of materials. Ingots." ~show Alear picking up a ton of ingots~ "Get. The. Dogs. You won't regret it." (So torn on what game to get next with upcoming money and this and Xenoblade 3 are high on the list so nice to see one of my fave Xenoblade creators covering some Engage stuff!)
Also I'd love your opinions on personal skills in early, mid, and late game. And your opinions on the inherited skills and what you consider the best and worse in general and with specific situations.(Like skills that are great on everyone and ones that are great if put on x,y,z but maybe not so great for a,b,c) I always find those helpful.(Even if it's just to sometimes go....Hmmm how shall I make this not so great skill work for me because I like this character who has it lol)
Before I ran into this vid I actually used the fog strat with Yunaka until a certain spoiler unit joined who I then gave Corrin to. Refined Peshkatz due to its higher base Crit and gave it Corrin's engravement. Certified zappy moment. On a side note, Nova with Lyn's engravement on Ivy puts in some really nice work. She crits a lot with it for me. I'd love to see a vid regarding class or personal skills.
I used this adorkable character on Maddening through ch 14 so far so I can speak to that. While I can't promise "optimal", she was one of my highest level units without any effort, and was the first to be able to actively solo swarms of enemies thanks to 1-2 range and covert being amazing. She has not infrequently sat at 5-20% enemy hit chance in cover, and is also just really fun with many build options. Would recommend.
Good to add; using Tiki's divine blessing on Yunaka gives her a 2nd health bar, AND if you use divine blessing while Tiki is adjacent to emblem Marth, it will also recharge Yunaka's engage meter, OR restart the turn count if youre already engaged.
Alear with Tiki + Yunaka with Corrin was my end game carry. Dual Support on both for +30 avoid at all times, then you get the fog effect on top of that. Also have Alear on another +30 avoid from Marth so his avoid is over 200 effective.
I chose to give Lucina engrave to the Silver Dagger and Corrin engrave to Peshkatz. The first gives more hit/avo for general dodging, while the latter makes crits more consistent but only at melee. Also, thanks for the tip on Maddening AI, because I was playing on Hard and I will start a Maddening playthrough right after.
This game has a lot of great build options and units across the board have huge potential. Can't wait to do another run to use units that I left on the bench
I love using Yunaka and Louis, both are my most consistent mvps on most maps. I say "most" maps because they can still die when surrounded by enemy backup units that do chip damage over time, it always breaks my heart to see Yunaka's avoid and Louis' defense get destroyed by an Awakening mechanic of all things 😭
Well Corrin also helps with Louis and Jade, since Pair Up just stops one of the counters for Armor tanking, being Chain Attacks. So all you have left to fear for the most part is Magic. (Basically if you get 2k SP on them and have Corrin Ring "upgraded" you get them to Lvl 13 and pass Pair Up onto them via Skill Inheritance, and then just go Ike and be the wall)
Since Corrin gives you a 3x3 fog field, I think giving Corrin to someone like Alear or the other dragon character could also be ideal. They can still make fog for Yunaka if need be, but also have access to all the other dragon veins if the situation calls for them, or if the fog would be overkill on Maddening. Then Yunaka could have another ring like Lyn equipped for the massive Astra range on covert, or Leif who gives coverts +20% Avoid with Adaptability.
Corrin does have more benefits than just fog. Draconic Hex nerfing all enemy stats pairs well with poison, and Dread Aura can lock down 5 enemies from moving. Also Pair Up prevents Yunaka from being chipped down from chain attacks, which always have a 80% hit rate, regardless of avoid. Also, Alcryst+Lyn pairs really well with Yunaka+Corrin, as he and his doubles also get the 2x bonus from the avoid terrain, and if an ally within range gets attacked, including doubles, he gets +3 strength for a turn. This combined with Luna and his high dex means even high defense units have a hard time against him.
Personally i say you still give her corrin, or at least give her the null chain attack skill, since that nullifies the one thing that prevents chain attacks.
8:05 Another point for Pair Up is use it with your tank like Louis or Jade as a General and watch them just stand there like a stalwart wall for most enemies
Happily playing through fe engage knowing Yunaka is absolutely broken as a dodge tank. See Enel, a youtuber who breaks every xbc game over his indomitable will...see a video combining the two. I knew she was best girl 😎
Yunaka is easily one of my most favourite characters in this game since she is one of the few characters that actually surprises me with her supports being that she was previously a extremely high class assassin and acts happy go lucky as an escape from her previous life, also red heads take me down too easily
for maddening I ran a speedier build with lyn since yunaka on fixed growths doesn't have enough speed with corrin to double faster enemies late game. A level 40 yunaka hits 32 base speed and at that point there are heroes with 30+ speed and swordmasters that have even more. It's nice to have multiple daggers to balance out your avoid. I had one with a sigurd engraving if I needed to play enemy phase without an evasion tile and another with corrin engraving if I could park on an evasion tile and can afford the loss of evasion to go for more crits. I think if I didn't mess up my SP distribution I'd probably give her corrin ring for reasons already mentioned but inherit speedtaker so she can double the faster speed units. I think lunar brace costs too much for a skill that only works on player phase when she's seeing most of her combat on enemy phase. I had alot of success inheriting avoid+ from marth and swapping it around between other generic skills like strength or speed+ to hit thresholds depending on what I needed to hit certain thresholds for a map.

I dropped Yunaka pretty much after Zelkov joins the Team because i thought he had the better passive skill, turns out its a Translation Error in German that says Yunaka gets +15 Hit Chance not one Word about it being Crit Chance. Ill have to grind her up a bit again.
Also, Zelkov’s personal is pretty bad, considering most units enter combat more on enemy phase than player phase and his only works on player phase, and is only worth 10 avoid.

I started using this method, though I'm around chapters 12-13, and this helps me with farming materials during skirmishes. Although I keep some health items since she sometimes keeps getting hit by the mages.
On maddening, the main problem is that the exp gain is so low that there's no point in using her since you can just replace her with Zelkov when he joins who'll have way better stats. He's also dodgier, which is important since enemies are also way more accurate.
Yunaka has a tough time being the best in this specific game cos later pre-promoted units come with lots of SP and nice stats but my god she is so clutch for some of the hardest maps on the game. I don't think it's possible to beat the Tiki DLC paralogue right away without her on maddening, she carried that map hard. Side tip, make sure you don't bring her to have a perfect dodge chance as enemies on Maddening will just ignore her. Getting like a 90% dodge chance was enough for me to make her invincible. Maybe have someone parked out of range with a Miciah Engage ready to heal her up to max if an enemy gets a lucky hit on her.
I'd say her average stats and personal skill are usually enough for her to compete with other possible thieves and being able to get inheritance skills early on including from the rings you lose in ch 11 is a big deal, but she's still probably not as good as Chloé and Louis as far as early-game units go (Especially Chloé since she may as well be a Camilla stand-in if you have her early promote)
Anna with tomes is pretty hilarious as well if you want another broken character. Don't need crit when magic does 65+ per hit. Plus you can employ the 59-72 luck and her skill that gets you 500 gold when she defeats an enemy (chance=luck stat) giving you 10kish gold per map.
I didn't realize Anna had so much potential. I will train her up in the arena next then. Does she have really high luck growth? and that modifies her personal skill chances?
@@jaredponder4149 High luck and pretty sure highest magic. The biggest issue is the only way to get her to have the right efficiency for mage classes is to have a certain emblem that may or may not be available depending on where you are in the story. She eventually gets to that point where you just only put her on the field and auto battle gold farm. Since she is close/range with magic, she can always counter enemies.
Also fun is giving sigurd ring and a killing edge. You have amazing move speed and terrain nor enemies slow you. You can killing edge dash through lines of enemies for even more mobility. Truely you are an assassin darting between points of cover.
You should make more fe engage content, it'd be nice on it's own because you're such a good rpg player and guide creator but especially while we wait for more content in xc3.

I'd love a swordmaster Kagetsu guide, specifically for Maddening. The dude just slaughters all with the right itemization - but I'd like to get your perspective on an optimal build.
The one that I like is Etie + Lyn, basically able to snowball and nuke anything in 2 tiles of you cause sniper + Speedtaker + Alacrity, so you double everything before it even hits you.
Meanwhile, I was an idiot and reclassed her into a sword fighter. This is because I'm doing a run where I use characters my brother didn't during his playthrough, and I think having 2 thieves (Zelkov and Yunaka) is kinda sus
I ended up running Yunaka into a wolf rider, using the Wo dao for even *more* crit up. I paired her with Lyn for the alacrity bonus, as her *already* high speed(which only gets FASTER as maps go on with speedtaker) lets her double shot enemies with no chance for counters
dang. didnt know yunaka would be this good. i wanted to use her but in my playthrough dropped her mostly because she didnt seem to be doing any damage. meanwhile i had a louis with ike to just tank everything and great ether after or just tank in general. he was so strong by the end not even ballistas or the final boss could touch him physically. and my 100% crit rate unit was panette.
Been running Yunaka with Tiki in my maddening play thru and it's pretty great too. Give her a lot of health, Tiki engage attacks boost her damage, and she is your divine blessing bot.
I did the same thing. It's kind of obvious once you get Corrin and realize what Dragon Vein does with Covert units (of which you have very few). I actually had her marry Alear (S rank support) and gave them both the skill Dual Support (so +30 avoid just for being adjacent to one another at S tier support). They can both stand in the fog and just murder everything. My Alear is also running +30 Avoid from Marth while having Bond 20 with Tiki so his avoid is 159 raw, 189 effective standing adjacent to Yunaka. Yea I actually ended up beating some Trial maps with just Alear + Yunaka because everyone else died (even Chloe eventually died). Takes a LONG time though. Your Lunar Brace tip is solid. I'll definitely do that on my 2nd play thru.
If you want to do another video like this, a good suggestion would be to get the most out of Anna since money is hard to come by and her personal skill is actually really useful.
Honestly Kagetsu with Tiki and a +5 killing edge is amazing as well, he can pretty much solo every chapter for me at this point, and Critting pretty much every attack
RN is fucking funky in this game. 50% hits is reliable in this game and I missed 4 80% in a row with that axe guy in the beginning of the game. Man hit the Bench real quick

@@SweaterPuppys oh I’m on chapter 13 rn and only two chapters I’m still using from the beginning chapters are framme cuz staves and Louis cuz uh…. Armored Knight be good 🤣. When I saw that character have dirt low growths across the board I first thought that it wouldn’t be too much of a problem because there can’t be too crazy of deviation with growths so you shouldn’t get growth screw too often. But boy howdy with people hardly getting good level ups and you only able to deploy like have the squad people would are only slightly falling off get yeeted to the bench and there they stay 🤣 I think they taking the FE6 route of throwing units at you cuz they either died or the got level screwed
I have a 'fog pocket' that includes Yanuka and any ground unit with high avoid (Alear, Kajetsu, Merrin, and even Alcryst). Its one reason why I don't promote these units to flying classes.
Personally im a big fan of dodge tanking with celine. High spd and lck means high base avoid, then paired with micaiah engravement for an additional flat 40 avoid paired with magic means one rounding just about everything. Spd taker givers her 4 avo per stack for up to 20, and yes using echo will grant to in a turn if she kills. This was on hard mode mind you
Will you be making a diamant build? I think his class skill Sol paired with Roy's hold out is pretty clearly the way he's supposed to play. I can see inheriting hold out from roy and using the ike ring instead to be more optimal though. Maybe inherit solar brace as well
Probably should be using one of Marth's avoid skills instead of Lunar Brace, since that does nothing for an enemy phase focused unit. That would significantly cut down on the hit mages are getting on Yunaka.
Might be more useful on Maddening as well since you may not be able to count on Yunaka soloing everything, instead it would help her survive until other units can finish things off.
This is probably the way on maddening, I just didn't really know what else to use myself given I already had 0% hit from non mages basically the entire game and mages never seemed like a threat anyway.
A good backup tactic if you want to use a different non-covert class for Yunaka is to have another covert class character use the smoke and then give Yunaka Lyn ring and then use duplicate, Yunaka and whatever copy's in the smoke will do good counter dmg
The great thing about Draconic Hex and Corrin!Yunaka is that when the boss moves toward you in a group, she can use Torrential Roar to not only apply the huge debuff on the boss and up to 2 other enemies in a line (while doing a good chunk of damage), but also lock their movement for a whole turn, and all enemies adjacent to them as well. And because it's an emblem attack, Yunaka doesn't take a counterattack. In my experience it's been an insanely safe and reliable way to open up any fight against a boss, though for bosses without accompanying groups a regular attack is better. I'm gonna be really sad when I finish my playthrough, move on up to Maddening, and can't just repeat this bullshit in the same way.

One minor point about daggers and poison: you do need to deal damage. If the enemy takes "no damage," they don't get poisoned.

Yes! As someone who is new to Fire Emblem, I think making build videos is a great idea!
Though what made Vengeance work was access to constant self-healing (and having a much higher activation rate).

"If she's not good enough, get more stats" is a fairly moot point, or at least, better put in guides about the emblems instead of the playable characters (Which would be a much more doable task haha).

Not gonna lie I love how literally EVERY video I have watched for this game so far have basically gone "Adopt dogs. Dogs. Just dogs. Nothing else. Just dogs. Dogs are your supreme ruler. Dogs are the altar you worship at. You don't like anything but dogs. For they grant the most useful of materials. Ingots." ~show Alear picking up a ton of ingots~ "Get. The. Dogs. You won't regret it." (So torn on what game to get next with upcoming money and this and Xenoblade 3 are high on the list so nice to see one of my fave Xenoblade creators covering some Engage stuff!)
Also I'd love your opinions on personal skills in early, mid, and late game. And your opinions on the inherited skills and what you consider the best and worse in general and with specific situations.(Like skills that are great on everyone and ones that are great if put on x,y,z but maybe not so great for a,b,c) I always find those helpful.(Even if it's just to sometimes go....Hmmm how shall I make this not so great skill work for me because I like this character who has it lol)

Before I ran into this vid I actually used the fog strat with Yunaka until a certain spoiler unit joined who I then gave Corrin to.
Refined Peshkatz due to its higher base Crit and gave it Corrin's engravement. Certified zappy moment.
On a side note, Nova with Lyn's engravement on Ivy puts in some really nice work. She crits a lot with it for me. I'd love to see a vid regarding class or personal skills.
How to make Yunaka broken:
1) recruit her
I used this adorkable character on Maddening through ch 14 so far so I can speak to that. While I can't promise "optimal", she was one of my highest level units without any effort, and was the first to be able to actively solo swarms of enemies thanks to 1-2 range and covert being amazing. She has not infrequently sat at 5-20% enemy hit chance in cover, and is also just really fun with many build options. Would recommend.
Good to add; using Tiki's divine blessing on Yunaka gives her a 2nd health bar, AND if you use divine blessing while Tiki is adjacent to emblem Marth, it will also recharge Yunaka's engage meter, OR restart the turn count if youre already engaged.
It's not necessary to have Emblem Marth nearby - using a unit which gets a bonus is enough. You can see that when you equip emblem rings/bracelets
@@simonopps ....no, you definitely do need to have emblem marth adjacent to use Divine Blessing+.
Alear with Tiki + Yunaka with Corrin was my end game carry. Dual Support on both for +30 avoid at all times, then you get the fog effect on top of that. Also have Alear on another +30 avoid from Marth so his avoid is over 200 effective.
I chose to give Lucina engrave to the Silver Dagger and Corrin engrave to Peshkatz. The first gives more hit/avo for general dodging, while the latter makes crits more consistent but only at melee. Also, thanks for the tip on Maddening AI, because I was playing on Hard and I will start a Maddening playthrough right after.
This game has a lot of great build options and units across the board have huge potential. Can't wait to do another run to use units that I left on the bench

I love using Yunaka and Louis, both are my most consistent mvps on most maps. I say "most" maps because they can still die when surrounded by enemy backup units that do chip damage over time, it always breaks my heart to see Yunaka's avoid and Louis' defense get destroyed by an Awakening mechanic of all things 😭
Well Corrin also helps with Louis and Jade, since Pair Up just stops one of the counters for Armor tanking, being Chain Attacks. So all you have left to fear for the most part is Magic. (Basically if you get 2k SP on them and have Corrin Ring "upgraded" you get them to Lvl 13 and pass Pair Up onto them via Skill Inheritance, and then just go Ike and be the wall)
i would actually love some fire emblem content, if you just made funny broken builds for every character i’d watch every one of them

Since Corrin gives you a 3x3 fog field, I think giving Corrin to someone like Alear or the other dragon character could also be ideal. They can still make fog for Yunaka if need be, but also have access to all the other dragon veins if the situation calls for them, or if the fog would be overkill on Maddening.
Then Yunaka could have another ring like Lyn equipped for the massive Astra range on covert, or Leif who gives coverts +20% Avoid with Adaptability.
Corrin does have more benefits than just fog. Draconic Hex nerfing all enemy stats pairs well with poison, and Dread Aura can lock down 5 enemies from moving. Also Pair Up prevents Yunaka from being chipped down from chain attacks, which always have a 80% hit rate, regardless of avoid.
Also, Alcryst+Lyn pairs really well with Yunaka+Corrin, as he and his doubles also get the 2x bonus from the avoid terrain, and if an ally within range gets attacked, including doubles, he gets +3 strength for a turn. This combined with Luna and his high dex means even high defense units have a hard time against him.
Personally i say you still give her corrin, or at least give her the null chain attack skill, since that nullifies the one thing that prevents chain attacks.
Yeah, I gave my corrin ring to *unnamed second dragon character* and found a lot more use than when I just had yunaka with corrin
8:05 Another point for Pair Up is use it with your tank like Louis or Jade as a General and watch them just stand there like a stalwart wall for most enemies

Happily playing through fe engage knowing Yunaka is absolutely broken as a dodge tank. See Enel, a youtuber who breaks every xbc game over his indomitable will...see a video combining the two. I knew she was best girl 😎
Yunaka is easily one of my most favourite characters in this game since she is one of the few characters that actually surprises me with her supports being that she was previously a extremely high class assassin and acts happy go lucky as an escape from her previous life, also red heads take me down too easily
In my head her back story is even worse than that but let's not go there.
for maddening I ran a speedier build with lyn since yunaka on fixed growths doesn't have enough speed with corrin to double faster enemies late game. A level 40 yunaka hits 32 base speed and at that point there are heroes with 30+ speed and swordmasters that have even more. It's nice to have multiple daggers to balance out your avoid. I had one with a sigurd engraving if I needed to play enemy phase without an evasion tile and another with corrin engraving if I could park on an evasion tile and can afford the loss of evasion to go for more crits. I think if I didn't mess up my SP distribution I'd probably give her corrin ring for reasons already mentioned but inherit speedtaker so she can double the faster speed units. I think lunar brace costs too much for a skill that only works on player phase when she's seeing most of her combat on enemy phase. I had alot of success inheriting avoid+ from marth and swapping it around between other generic skills like strength or speed+ to hit thresholds depending on what I needed to hit certain thresholds for a map.

I dropped Yunaka pretty much after Zelkov joins the Team because i thought he had the better passive skill, turns out its a Translation Error in German that says Yunaka gets +15 Hit Chance not one Word about it being Crit Chance. Ill have to grind her up a bit again.
Also, Zelkov’s personal is pretty bad, considering most units enter combat more on enemy phase than player phase and his only works on player phase, and is only worth 10 avoid.

I started using this method, though I'm around chapters 12-13, and this helps me with farming materials during skirmishes. Although I keep some health items since she sometimes keeps getting hit by the mages.
I am sure Yunaka playing Assassin's creed by spaming smoke bomb and kill everyone in it with the hidden blade.

On maddening, the main problem is that the exp gain is so low that there's no point in using her since you can just replace her with Zelkov when he joins who'll have way better stats. He's also dodgier, which is important since enemies are also way more accurate.
Yunaka has a tough time being the best in this specific game cos later pre-promoted units come with lots of SP and nice stats but my god she is so clutch for some of the hardest maps on the game. I don't think it's possible to beat the Tiki DLC paralogue right away without her on maddening, she carried that map hard. Side tip, make sure you don't bring her to have a perfect dodge chance as enemies on Maddening will just ignore her. Getting like a 90% dodge chance was enough for me to make her invincible. Maybe have someone parked out of range with a Miciah Engage ready to heal her up to max if an enemy gets a lucky hit on her.
I'd say her average stats and personal skill are usually enough for her to compete with other possible thieves and being able to get inheritance skills early on including from the rings you lose in ch 11 is a big deal, but she's still probably not as good as Chloé and Louis as far as early-game units go (Especially Chloé since she may as well be a Camilla stand-in if you have her early promote)

Yunaka is my 2nd favorite girl number 1 being Timerra.
Anna with tomes is pretty hilarious as well if you want another broken character. Don't need crit when magic does 65+ per hit. Plus you can employ the 59-72 luck and her skill that gets you 500 gold when she defeats an enemy (chance=luck stat) giving you 10kish gold per map.
I didn't realize Anna had so much potential. I will train her up in the arena next then. Does she have really high luck growth? and that modifies her personal skill chances?
@@jaredponder4149 High luck and pretty sure highest magic. The biggest issue is the only way to get her to have the right efficiency for mage classes is to have a certain emblem that may or may not be available depending on where you are in the story. She eventually gets to that point where you just only put her on the field and auto battle gold farm. Since she is close/range with magic, she can always counter enemies.

Fire Emblem and Xenoblade are the reasons to be alive. I approve.
Also fun is giving sigurd ring and a killing edge. You have amazing move speed and terrain nor enemies slow you. You can killing edge dash through lines of enemies for even more mobility. Truely you are an assassin darting between points of cover.
You should make more fe engage content, it'd be nice on it's own because you're such a good rpg player and guide creator but especially while we wait for more content in xc3.

I'd love a swordmaster Kagetsu guide, specifically for Maddening. The dude just slaughters all with the right itemization - but I'd like to get your perspective on an optimal build.
The one that I like is Etie + Lyn, basically able to snowball and nuke anything in 2 tiles of you cause sniper + Speedtaker + Alacrity, so you double everything before it even hits you.
The best crossover I could have asked for.
Meanwhile, I was an idiot and reclassed her into a sword fighter. This is because I'm doing a run where I use characters my brother didn't during his playthrough, and I think having 2 thieves (Zelkov and Yunaka) is kinda sus
I ended up running Yunaka into a wolf rider, using the Wo dao for even *more* crit up. I paired her with Lyn for the alacrity bonus, as her *already* high speed(which only gets FASTER as maps go on with speedtaker) lets her double shot enemies with no chance for counters
Thieves and Assassin's have been combined for this outing and I will say this is awesome!
I've heard of people making her a sniper for insane damage, and it still counts as a covert class. That might be really good for maddening

i wanted to use her but in my playthrough dropped her mostly because she didnt seem to be doing any damage.
meanwhile i had a louis with ike to just tank everything and great ether after or just tank in general. he was so strong by the end not even ballistas or the final boss could touch him physically.
and my 100% crit rate unit was panette.
Been running Yunaka with Tiki in my maddening play thru and it's pretty great too. Give her a lot of health, Tiki engage attacks boost her damage, and she is your divine blessing bot.
I did the same thing. It's kind of obvious once you get Corrin and realize what Dragon Vein does with Covert units (of which you have very few). I actually had her marry Alear (S rank support) and gave them both the skill Dual Support (so +30 avoid just for being adjacent to one another at S tier support). They can both stand in the fog and just murder everything. My Alear is also running +30 Avoid from Marth while having Bond 20 with Tiki so his avoid is 159 raw, 189 effective standing adjacent to Yunaka. Yea I actually ended up beating some Trial maps with just Alear + Yunaka because everyone else died (even Chloe eventually died). Takes a LONG time though.
Your Lunar Brace tip is solid. I'll definitely do that on my 2nd play thru.
If you want to do another video like this, a good suggestion would be to get the most out of Anna since money is hard to come by and her personal skill is actually really useful.
Getting the most out of Anna involves ignoring her skill entirely and just making her a mage.

Nosteratu Anna heals every combat and she kills everyone. Works in maddening as long as she didn't get crit.

Somehow I ended up with an OP Louis with my Yunaka not too far behind. Louis suffers no physical damage and Yunaka strikes from behind, a good pair!
Same here, every single level up my Louis has leveled: Hp, Str, Dex, Def. Sometimes he levels up speed and res too, patching his only weaknesses.
Yeah, Louis is the best unit for early game, no questions asked, and doesn't really fall off, either.
The only way to to reliably dodge tank in a hybrid RN game is to force a 0%

RN is fucking funky in this game. 50% hits is reliable in this game and I missed 4 80% in a row with that axe guy in the beginning of the game. Man hit the Bench real quick

When I saw that character have dirt low growths across the board I first thought that it wouldn’t be too much of a problem because there can’t be too crazy of deviation with growths so you shouldn’t get growth screw too often. But boy howdy with people hardly getting good level ups and you only able to deploy like have the squad people would are only slightly falling off get yeeted to the bench and there they stay 🤣
I think they taking the FE6 route of throwing units at you cuz they either died or the got level screwed
I have a 'fog pocket' that includes Yanuka and any ground unit with high avoid (Alear, Kajetsu, Merrin, and even Alcryst). Its one reason why I don't promote these units to flying classes.

Personally im a big fan of dodge tanking with celine. High spd and lck means high base avoid, then paired with micaiah engravement for an additional flat 40 avoid paired with magic means one rounding just about everything. Spd taker givers her 4 avo per stack for up to 20, and yes using echo will grant to in a turn if she kills. This was on hard mode mind you

Will you be making a diamant build? I think his class skill Sol paired with Roy's hold out is pretty clearly the way he's supposed to play. I can see inheriting hold out from roy and using the ike ring instead to be more optimal though. Maybe inherit solar brace as well
I don't think you CAN inherit Solar Brace. The closest thing would be when Lunar Brace turns into Eclipse Brace when an ally is engaged with Eirika.
Probably should be using one of Marth's avoid skills instead of Lunar Brace, since that does nothing for an enemy phase focused unit. That would significantly cut down on the hit mages are getting on Yunaka.
Might be more useful on Maddening as well since you may not be able to count on Yunaka soloing everything, instead it would help her survive until other units can finish things off.
This is probably the way on maddening, I just didn't really know what else to use myself given I already had 0% hit from non mages basically the entire game and mages never seemed like a threat anyway.
this could potentially backfire in maddening because that means you could trigger conquest AI and the enemies will ignore you

A good backup tactic if you want to use a different non-covert class for Yunaka is to have another covert class character use the smoke and then give Yunaka Lyn ring and then use duplicate, Yunaka and whatever copy's in the smoke will do good counter dmg
The great thing about Draconic Hex and Corrin!Yunaka is that when the boss moves toward you in a group, she can use Torrential Roar to not only apply the huge debuff on the boss and up to 2 other enemies in a line (while doing a good chunk of damage), but also lock their movement for a whole turn, and all enemies adjacent to them as well. And because it's an emblem attack, Yunaka doesn't take a counterattack. In my experience it's been an insanely safe and reliable way to open up any fight against a boss, though for bosses without accompanying groups a regular attack is better.
I'm gonna be really sad when I finish my playthrough, move on up to Maddening, and can't just repeat this bullshit in the same way.
