  • In this video I build a 3500 watt Outback Inverter UPS Power Backup System. I used parts left over from building my lithium battery Victron setup for my Prevost. Videos with my bus will be coming soon - shortly after the snow!

Great idea about running the power cords from the pumps to the garage.

I did have (2) smaller 12v batteries in the utility room with a small 1200 watt inverter for the emergency sump but the batteries died and there was a mess of stuff. Just running an extension cord to the garage cleans it up down there and provides a much bigger and reliable system. If the power was out for an extended time, I could shut off the main and back feed a lot of the house too.

Fun video. Love the recycling of parts. Always enjoy your videos. Looking forward to more coach videos. I'm pulling my hair out on this Marathon xl Victron conversion. Every time I think I have it figured out I find something else.

Thanks! Hate to toss that stuff in the trash when it’s capable of helping in a power outage

Are you going to plug it into the sump pump for a few of days to make sure it works well.

I did - should have included that in the video…. Works great. Would like to get my garage door opener and internet run off it too. The last power outage we had I was locked out - we don’t carry keys and couldn’t get in! Be nice to still get through the garage door

I used his saw one weekend, liked it so much I bought one too. I use it all the time and don't want or need a table saw anymore either.

Where did you buy the battery from and about how much was it?

The 12v 100 amp battery is from dr. Prepare. I will be doing a video on just that battery next - hope to have a link to it as well that will save you money off their prices. Their prices are pretty good before the discount. I really like that module that snaps in - solar mppt, usb a and usb c plus a cigarette lighter socket.
