    You cant void the warrenty anymore... Due to Right to Repair and the law under The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, taking the console apart is okay. Its only voided when you break something

      Yea plus eventually you will have to take it apart anyways bc these methods will eventually work less and less just due to dust clogging the cooler fins

    Absolutely do not wiggle wire connectors by the wire, you run a massive risk of them snapping. Gently push up from both sides of the connector

      @@Hellraiser988 Same. Been cleaning out my launch day console every 4-5 months since 2020, and disconnecting the fan ribbon cable with needlenose pliers as well to thoroughly clean the fan blades similar to what was shown in the video.

    This is all good stuff but if you really want clean your ps5 you have to take out an additional 100+ screws to access the heat sink. Sony built this thing like it has some secret sauce hidden inside

      So maybe you can remove the cover, start up a game and see how well the fan is spinning

      ​@@chocobabiii1002 once u take apart the fan if you look all the way to the bottom with a flashlight you'll see another ventish looking thing. If it's clogged that's where the actual problem is. Unclog and clean that as much as possible. It's hard without removing the rest of the system, but if you're like me, you don't want to do allat lol.

    When you take the fan off, make sure you know exactly which screw you took out and where because that same screw has to go into the same exact spot or else you’ll be sitting there for another hour or two trying to figure out where four screws go. They are all different sizes and so you don’t accidentally break anything they need to go back into the same spot!!!

      Short screw goes at 10 o clock, long screw goes at 3 o clock, and 2 medium sized ones go on the bottom slots

      I did it, after a year of playing the power pack was totally clogged and blocked with dust, it took me hours to put it back together because I kept putting the wrong screws in the holes.

    This will only work for so long before you'll need a complete service - but its still a good way to keep on top of it for sure! Also very important to brush the vent holes on the PSU because it can be mistaken for liquid metal problems if it starts randomly shutting off

    If I were the manufacturer of the console, I would put a filter in the air intake and clean it monthly... I think it's a great idea and the inside of the console stays very clean.

      Use a micro flathead screwdriver. It'll fit in the security screwdriver slots. It works just don't force it or you'll Strip the screws

      i went to buy the T9 screwdriver youtube told me to use and it still didn't work, luckily i had an extra small size 1.5 flat head screwdriver that worked well on the PS5 screws. so you can use that if you want

    Do not use compressed air. You will pack dust into smaller compartments of the system. Use a vacuum with a brush attachment.

    You forget to clean the power supply vent holes. That part is somthing that should be done annually.

    I always just get to the fan underneath, unscrew everything but don't disconnect the wires or anything, then use a cleaning toothbrush to get the dust off the metal grills, usually a thick layer directly over it, clean the fan with conpressed air out of the console so it doesn't blow inside, then hook it back up and done.

      I'm not lying but every ps5 fan which is used gets tgis much dust, but nit that yellow, its because it collects dust real fast, my house is pretty clean everyday and it's still dusty the ps5 but the dust isn't yellow

      They are normally Torx screws and I believe they still are, you can go online and buy a torx set they always come in handy now and again

    Torx 8 will take the fan screws out, right? If I just clean both fans and a little of the inside from where the fans were removed, is that enough to stop it from shutting off after hours of game play?😢

    My ps5 was turning off by itself so I had to clean it. Took the panels off and just blasted all the vents with compressed air. Didn’t remove the fan or disconnect any wires. Didn’t use q tips or anything else. Just wiped it down with a polishing cloth and that was it. Now it’s runs just fine.

    I kept hotboxing my room and my Ps5 completely turned off due to dust build up … I opened it up and cleaned it throughly using
    Q-tips
    Rag (dry)
    Computer cleaner
    I cleaned it all up I kept the fan plugged in but cleaned it throughly. removed the 2 vents on each side . Put everything back into place including the 4 screws holding the fan guard. Word of advice don’t apply extra pressure when opening the Ps5 cover clips might break also on the vent covers .

    Do not use compressed air. Compressed air condensates and liquid forms inside the can. That liquid will mess up the innards of the PlayStation when the fan starts spinning, which in turn will throw the liquid to the more sensitive and crucial parts of your console

    Attention!!! Do not forget to blow air deep in the ps5 way at the bottom. 9 outa 10 times the power supply is critically clogged which will overheat and shut down your ps5. Inside the fan hole and way down. Use a flashlight.

    do NOT pull the wire connectors by the wire. Not only that, you're just scattering dust particles in your PS5.

    Bro forgot to mention that you need to be careful with the screws, I hard to learn the hard way after cleaning my PS5. Some of the screws wouldn’t fit and I couldn’t remember which screws go where but in the end I figured it out.

    STEP ONE...Take the covers off and use a vacuum hose to suck the dust off of the fan...STEP TWO...Put the covers back on...Thats it...Youre done 👍

      @@sean3281 i mean it depends on the power and the size, but for the most part it has a higher chance of damaging parts compared to just taking off the fans and cleaning them.

      Wow you must keep your home spotless mine isnt that great it still had a little dust inside not as bad as this video. And i only took it apart to clean one other time since ive owned it.

      @@jat9926 yeah it really helps! We have a little bird so it makes us make sure everything is clean because she has tiny lungs. It’s still good to clean your fans in the PlayStation I’ve just never seen anything close to that after over a year of it being closed up

      Really depends or where your console is. Horizontal and in a place where it can breath are really big pros. For example i just cleaned it first time inside and all in like 2 years. Just a little amount of dust.

    You should use a vacuum instead of compressed air, compressed air can push the dust deeper into the Playstation, vacuum cleaner will suck it all out

    I just open the covers, and hoover the fan both sides and vents once every 8 months, seems to be sufficant.
