This is all good stuff but if you really want clean your ps5 you have to take out an additional 100+ screws to access the heat sink. Sony built this thing like it has some secret sauce hidden inside

Unclog and clean that as much as possible. It's hard without removing the rest of the system, but if you're like me, you don't want to do allat lol.
When you take the fan off, make sure you know exactly which screw you took out and where because that same screw has to go into the same exact spot or else you’ll be sitting there for another hour or two trying to figure out where four screws go. They are all different sizes and so you don’t accidentally break anything they need to go back into the same spot!!!

This will only work for so long before you'll need a complete service - but its still a good way to keep on top of it for sure! Also very important to brush the vent holes on the PSU because it can be mistaken for liquid metal problems if it starts randomly shutting off
If I were the manufacturer of the console, I would put a filter in the air intake and clean it monthly... I think it's a great idea and the inside of the console stays very clean.

I always just get to the fan underneath, unscrew everything but don't disconnect the wires or anything, then use a cleaning toothbrush to get the dust off the metal grills, usually a thick layer directly over it, clean the fan with conpressed air out of the console so it doesn't blow inside, then hook it back up and done.

My ps5 was turning off by itself so I had to clean it. Took the panels off and just blasted all the vents with compressed air. Didn’t remove the fan or disconnect any wires. Didn’t use q tips or anything else. Just wiped it down with a polishing cloth and that was it. Now it’s runs just fine.
I'd recommend to leave the console in a open area when I went to clean mine there was hardly any dust after a year I had it for and it looked nothing like that
I kept hotboxing my room and my Ps5 completely turned off due to dust build up … I opened it up and cleaned it throughly using Q-tips Rag (dry) Computer cleaner I cleaned it all up I kept the fan plugged in but cleaned it throughly. removed the 2 vents on each side . Put everything back into place including the 4 screws holding the fan guard. Word of advice don’t apply extra pressure when opening the Ps5 cover clips might break also on the vent covers . “It’s always 4:20 somewhere in the world” 🌎 🌍 🗺

Do not use compressed air. Compressed air condensates and liquid forms inside the can. That liquid will mess up the innards of the PlayStation when the fan starts spinning, which in turn will throw the liquid to the more sensitive and crucial parts of your console
Attention!!! Do not forget to blow air deep in the ps5 way at the bottom. 9 outa 10 times the power supply is critically clogged which will overheat and shut down your ps5. Inside the fan hole and way down. Use a flashlight.

there actually a sticker on it that it says something like removing this voids the warranty but at that point your getting into the guts of the system

Absolutely do not wiggle wire connectors by the wire, you run a massive risk of them snapping. Gently push up from both sides of the connector

Did anyone realize that you need a certain screw to take out the 4 bolts and no information or link for said tools.
Use a micro flathead screwdriver. It'll fit in the security screwdriver slots. It works just don't force it or you'll Strip the screws

Do not use compressed air. You will pack dust into smaller compartments of the system. Use a vacuum with a brush attachment.

You forget to clean the power supply vent holes. That part is somthing that should be done annually.
You still have the heatsink that's on the motherboard to get to if you want to do it right. This is a temporary band aid clean up.

Take plates off, blow dust off, replace plates.
