- In this episode of WORA 4X4 we learn a little more about the hilux and why it has become vegan, PLUS we hit the beach for the afternoon and enjoy some well needed R&R.
Check out our Toyota Hilux and see how we have reduced running costs on diesel, and check out our simple biodiesel, biofuel setup you can do at home. We discuss Straight Vegetable Oil SVO, Mixed Vegetable Oil MVO and transesterfication as alternatives to high diesel and fuel costs.
And to prove that it works, we take a run down Canunda in South Australia, just south of Beachport and Robe, running on our biodiesel biofuel powered car.
Make sure you subscribe to keep up to date on our long term biofuel tests to see if there are any problems that may arise from using alternative fuel
Love your work, mate!
thats pretty awesome dude , apperently you can use some anti freeze in the oil to break it down as well
Hey man. Looks like an easy system. Wanting to do the same for my ln107. Did you buy this as a kit or just get some fittings and fit it together? I’ve read that a heat exchanger is beneficial for heating the oil before it gets to the diesel pump. How’s it going so far? Any problems? They’re bullet proof engines and the cost of fuel at the mo, it’s prob worth getting it done for cheap if ya can
Hey mate, yeah it's going well. Isn't a perfect science. Every 800km I have to change fuel filters on on tank. I'm mucking around with heat exchangers and things at the moment for winter but has proven to be more of a headache than just mixing diesel. I made up the kit myself and fitted it together through trial and error. The most important thing is to make sure your fuel is clean before it goes in the tank.
@@wora4x47hey man. It’s been another year. You still doing the veg oil?
@stevec5192 hey Steve, yeah still cooking up a storm. I've got my discovery running off it too. Everything seems to be going well so far.
@@wora4x47 that’s so cool. Any forums etc that you can recommend? I’m about to do it on my 94 hilux
If you ever want a passenger, I'm just inbox away.
No worries, will do.
