      @@failranch9542 Same. I only buy from brands that specialize. Arai helmet, Klim Gear, Sidi Boots, Held Gloves, etc. The only BMW thing I would buy is a helmet since they are made by schuberth.

  • @Mr2wheeljunkie

    Have quite a lot of BMW riding gear and would agree with the author on many points. Helmet is very good (both Shuberth and Touratech don't fit my head as good as BMW), plenty of air inside with big jaw but very noisy on highway + swapping visors twice a day on long tips (and carrying the 2nd one all the time) is bad. Gravel boots - sole is too soft for standing up, I bought Sidi's Adventures instead, Rainlock Suit - perfect after few seasons and 1000's of kilometers in the rain, still like new.
    I enjoy watching proper gear reviews like these since its the right way to review it through long trips with mixed conditions.

But I would like to see a review about the best riding gear what you ever had because you are always wearing high quality adventure riding suits so if you can do like a personal top 10 riding suits or something like that that’s would be great .

    A really good review, I like the interaction between you, you are like a married couple.
    I think the rally suit is a very high quality (but expensive) product, however, for me, there is too much kit for one trip... adventure jacket, Adventure pants, waterproof jacket, waterproof pants, summer gloves, rain gloves not to mention the thermal liner ( top and bottom) for cold weather. Where is The ONE suit for all conditions? Why does it not exist?
    Thanks for all your reviews, and I loved the Patagonia trip.... you are a lucky boy.

    Just too many layers to wear in order to be comfortable. For my part, I ride a KLIM Carlsbad jacket and pants with a T-shirt and when the temperature drops I add a Harley-Davidson electric jacket (unplugged) then when its very cold (from 16 to zero celcius), I plug it and I am very comfortable. And my suit is water proof as well. Always dry, always warm, enjoying riding. Boots are dry and warm too as they are Alpinestar Toucan.

    1. Likes of Revit Dominators GTX - big dollars
    2. Jackets such as Hit-Air or Helite with integrated safety airbag
    3. Mid range 200-400$ range coupled with separate airbag vests
    Also a basic question, while riders these days are opting for big dollar jackets yet I don't see much interest in airbag jackets? Were airbag jackets a fad that died down already?

  • @JimGoryeb
    @JimGoryeb 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    The number of layers necessary with some like this makes no sense. Get a gore tex embedded shell, like a Klim Latitude, where the water proofing is bonded to the jacket. Then you never need to worry about stopping to put a rain jacket over (or under) the main suit. All you need are various layers for warmth...or no layers in hot weather.

  • @markmundy3435
    @markmundy3435 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice looking suit (if your a BMW fan boy) and good review as always, but for the life of me I can't understand why anyone would not go Gore tex. I would never go back to all that stopping and starting every time it rains putting this on and taking that off. Over suits cook you so you get wet from sweat as boil in the bag is not fun and liners keep you dry (ish) but everything over the top just soaks up the water and you have wet gear to deal with at the end of the day.

      @@NomadOnGS I have to check the specs. I had only one intercom connection, and it worked well for 100-200 meters in straight lines. After that, the quality begins to drop. The volume think also depends on the helemet. I found the GS helmet to be a bit noisy, I had to put the ear plugs on. With the ear plugs, I couldn't understand what the other guy was saying after more than 100 kph. Had the sena smh10s and felt better. Still, I have to try those pads. But I'm afraid that the helmet would become uncomfortable. Get back to you soon.
