    Resin drills will have those bitty holes, although you usually have to take them out and spread to look. Acrylic tends to be duller or waxier looking, but maybe that's just me.

      The resin drills are much shinier than acrylic.

    I also use double sided tape for multiplacer and singleplacer. As you say; it last much longer than fx wax.
    I don't know if you have a tip for the singleplacer? The way I do it, is I roll a tight "sausage", and cut it to fit the singleplacer hole. Then I push it up with a pointy thing, and press it down on the cover sheet. Finally cut it, so it doesn't "stick to much out". Don't know if there is a easier way?
    I love your dp wall, really impressed with the Robin/flower painting, cute and pretty.

      I place the double sided tape similarly into my single placer. I haven't thought of a better way. So far the double sided tape has been my favorite way to fill my multiplacer. I'm still debating with the single placer.

    Meian has been on my list for a long time, so this was really helpful to me. The painting did come out gorgeous, but I would have to think about the struggle doing the painting. I like the amount of colors in the painting...enough to make it look good, but not so many that it was ridiculous. I recently kitted up a painting with 45 colors, but 4 of them only use like 10. Its like, why bother...lol. Thank you so much for sharing!

    • @JoanDiamondPaints
      @JoanDiamondPaints  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the rendering was what kept me going on this one. I think the number of colors was why I never bothered with the max color HAEDs. Lots of them had less than 10 drills. It seemed like more effort than it was worth. I would probably have to spend longer finding the drill pot than actually diamond painting them.

      @@JoanDiamondPaints I am the opposite Susan and Joan. (love your videos Joan). For me, the more the confetti, the happier I am. Colour blocking is not my cup of tea at all. The one I am doing at the moment only has 32 colours, but I have 20 pots open at a time, taking 1 from 1 pot, 2 from another etc. Love it, until i up-end one!! I do not like 310s though. I think in future I am banning them from all paintings. I have not been doing them long. I started in July this year and am only on my 6th painting. The last one I did was a Christmas one 50 x 70 cm which turned out beautifully (lots and lots of confetti, yummy), so I am gradually buying larger paintings with more colours. Yep, I have fallen down the rabbit hole and have 20 paintings already in my stash, including a 45 x 110 cm and 4 x 60 x 80 cm, 3 x 45 x 60 and some a little smaller. Two are Chuck Pinson ones which I am itching to do after this one. Sorry for rambling. Keep up the great videos Joan.

    Hi Joan… can you please share a link of the dots that you stick on your ruler to stop it from moving? Thank you. I used double sided tape but it’s kinda messy. 😝

    Sorry to sound dumb but how do you use double sided tape on the multi placers?

    • @JoanDiamondPaints
      @JoanDiamondPaints  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need a wide enough double sided tape that is about the width of the miltiplacers. I've been cutting out about a 1 inch length of tape for a metal multiplacer (1.5 or 2 inches for plastic multiplacers). Then I roll the tape into a tube. If the tube is wider than your multiplacer, you will need to cut it to fit. Then I just stuff it into the multiplacer. The double sided tape works much longer and it is less messy than the waxes.

    hi. quick question. Does you get two tool kits (with multiplacer) with every diamond painting from them?
    thank you for helling me :)

    • @JoanDiamondPaints
      @JoanDiamondPaints  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't gotten anything from Meian since last year, but I remember getting 2 toolkits in my previous orders too.

    I agree with you - the flower picture looks great!
    Are the dots on the ruler just round label dots or are they thicker?

    • @JoanDiamondPaints
      @JoanDiamondPaints  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They're a little thicker. They're supposed to be used to grip the fabric under the ruler for quilting.

    Which ones are better: resins or acrylics?

    • @JoanDiamondPaints
      @JoanDiamondPaints  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For squares, I prefer the resin drills since they usually fit together much nicer and pop less, but I have done plenty with acrylic drills too that still turn out beautiful.

    • @JoanDiamondPaints
      @JoanDiamondPaints  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I think the heat melts the glue a little causing it to not be as sticky and also to be slippery.

    Your birds are a male and female cardinal. The bright red one is the male. They say when you see a cardinal it means a loved one that has passed is checking up on us.

    If you can pick up two or better more drills with tweezers, you can be pretty sure that these are resin drills. Just in case there are no dimples. 🙂 Have a nice Weekend, Always like your videos and found your Channel when you had less than 200 subs. 👍🍀

    • @JoanDiamondPaints

      Thanks for the extra way of determining the resin drills. I can see that could work since the resin drills tend to have the flatter side. Thank you for being a long time viewer!
