Thank you for getting the box and getting the unboxing up so quickly! I have been curious since Monday! I'm glad I didn't hop on the mystery box because the two "fan favorites" would have disappointed me. I know they had the Virus Detected in the last chance for ages, so it seems like a way to offload overstock. And the HP would have made me super super uncomfortable. I don't buy any HP products, not fanart but especially not licensed products that directly support JKR. I know I am in the minority in that view when it comes to DAC's customer base, but I still think it was a choice to have an HP item in a mystery box. I do really like the mystery kit and the Magic Portals kits though, so I will snag those up if they do get released separately. But the inclusion of HP at least has solidified my decision to not hop on the mystery boxes if they do release more in the future. Hey, at least my wallet can breathe a sigh of relief, right? lol

Really exciting. But this is even "worse" than the one that got posted on FB, there it was 2 kits I loved (mystery, Enys) + one I liked (landscape), and 3 I wouldn't care for. Here, they even swapped the landscape for the Hannah Lynn, which I also don't care for. So it would be 2 to keep and 4 to resell. I was at first disappointed that I wasn't able to get one (they announced it Monday evening when I was out, so I didn't even have a chance to set an alarm, it went online 3am here in Germany when I was sleeping), but now I see these unboxings I'm not too sad about it. Still, I think this is a very cool thing, and I am happy to see you and other people very excited about their boxes and what's inside. 😊
I absolutely love that you did this. I was sitting on the edge of my seat. Hopefully they will do more and I may be able to get in on it. I could have but it would have been extremely irresponsible for me and my family right now if I had. But if they do it again in the next week or so.....I will try for sure! I can honestly say, I'm ok not getting this. LOL - The Sunken Ship is probably my favorite and quite beautiful but I definitely don't see myself spending the time completing it. DAC is my favorite company, I think they are the best quality, but I do find the majority of their artwork is not my taste. Unfortunately, I've become addicted to collecting the cover minders so I do hate when I can't find anything I like to buy. LOL - Sad we didn't get to see the cover minders! I know you can get the Harry Potter separately because I looked a couple of days ago. I could not afford to buy the mystery box because I am on disability, but Harry Potter is the one I really want of everything in the box. So glad to see unboxings, because it lets me know what I really want and able to save for. If he sells out, I will go for the Hogwarts crest on the black background (so dramatic!). Thank you.

My mystery box arrived today and I have 5 of the same as you. But instead of the Neptune and Triton by Hannah Lynn kit I received House on the Cliff by Image world which is a really pretty landscape with a house and a bridge in front of a waterfall. I am so in love with the Magic Portals kit.

Agreed. There were only two - the sunken ship and the gothic one - that I liked. I just cant justify that kind of money right now and glad I didnt do it.

I got box 1. i got one different than hanna. and spangler repeat what i had. im very happy with the box. i did look up mystery and oh my the dragon is awesome.

Found the Anne Stokes image just with the few peeks of the canvas. Now I'm mad I didn't click fast enough to get the mystery box. Grr. Now I'll be stalking and waiting for the mystery to release on its own.
So sad I wasted money buying a mystery box. I guess I was in 2nd drop because I got some different painting, none of which are in my style wheelhouse. The Enys I got was Fenya. In fact, all the kits I received are currently available on the website with the exception of the mystery dragon kit and Hannah Lynn, so I feel it was false advertising that I would received some never before seen kits. The 6 I got (which only had 5 and I had to email about the 6th (which they did ship) are: Fenya-Enys Guerrero, Deadly Sweet-Sarah Richter, Neptune and Triton-Hannah Lynn, Customized Bookshelf-Randal Spangler, Mystery (Fantasy Dragon)-Anne Stokes and Potions Professor-harry Potter kit. Disappointed is not even the word! Never going to waste money on a mystery box from them again. Most of these they were trying to get rid of stock for a while. Buyers beware---wait and buy the ones you really love. Hopefully I can get these destashed somehow! At this point, I bought a $200 candle!

At the moment, DAC hasn’t made an official announcement either way about whether these kits will be released individually, outside of these mystery boxes. I’m super curious, myself! 🤞🏻
I was seriously worried that I would regret not getting one of these mystery boxes! Thank you so much for this video! I think DAC need to do more to accurately specify a theme with these kinds of releases. I have been disappointed by the mystery kits before where the specified theme wasn't actually accurate to the painting, therefore I'm not interested in doing it and that I am definitely going to loose money on once I am finally able to destash them. I would be happy to break even, but that's not likely to happen and its not an insignificant amount of money. With this box they have proven that the full retail price (even with the 15% discount from the packing slip that can be reused) is massively profitable for DAC, therefore they should reduce the cost of the mystery items across the board to reduce the hesitancy that folks like myself are now experiencing after multiple disappointing mystery items. I am pretty selective with the kits that I choose to complete, because they take so much time and dedication to complete and DAC are slowly but surely loosing my business.
We're certainly not changing how we'll do mystery kits/boxes. If anything, the discount on the mystery boxes will be less significant next time. These products are for people who enjoy mysteries, and from the sound of it, this is not something you seem to enjoy. We're also a little puzzled as to this statement: "With this box they have proven that the full retail price (even with the 15% discount from the packing slip that can be reused) is massively profitable for DAC" Do you know something we don't know about our profit margins? How do you know this mystery box was massively profitable for us? These kits would've sold out at regular retail, regardless. After deducting the cost of the products, shipping, and labor, we'd be happy to break even on the mystery box event. We just thought this would be a fun event for customers who love surprises and help us clear shelf space at the same time. It is a win-win for everyone. That said, we don't want our customers to lose money and have to destash their kits, and we can appreciate you being selective about the art you choose to complete. We are constantly releasing regular non-mystery kits (at least 30+ monthly), and we think that's more than enough to satisfy all tastes and needs.

I believe that there may be some variation, depending on when they ran out of what kits. The mystery boxes were so popular, they were scrambling to add more options quickly!

Emeralds and diamonds Lindsey did not get the Hanna Lynn . She got House on a cliff landscape that was gorgeous. I thought she got hers from the first round but could be wrong.

That plays right into the artificial scarcity tactic that business use to try and drive up demand. It’s a trick to try and get consumers to spend more than they otherwise would have, and DAC use it a lot.
