My process is pretty much the same as yours except I always slip the tranny into neutral once I get the boat on the downhill. I find it's easier to let the boat and gravity pull the truck instead of the truck pushing the boat. It seems that everything is in slower motion. The number one think that I've taught my kids and wife when launching, loading or driving the boat is SLOW DOWN because, everything can go South in a hurry. Great videos by the way. I always looking forward to seeing one pop up on my notifications. Keep up the good work. You've probably received more snow than you're use to by now. Our oldest son lives in Plano and he sent us a picture this morning of a snowman in his back yard. We're in Tulsa and it started snowing here about 11:30 this morning.
Great video! I have a 2023 190 TX Love It! 👍 I use the ole “Rope-A-Dope” method where I coil rope on the bow and tie the other end to the trailer winch post, launch the boat and walk it to the dock (Either Side) for securing. It’s fairly fast and easy, for recovery I use your method as depicted in the video although in a motor failure emergency I can use long rope slack to pull the boat partially on the trailer and get a little wet to attach the winch. In all case, no problemo! 🚤 I’d love to pick your brain on some upgrades and tips! Cheers! 🍻
Great video. I got a 2024 175 TXW in November and haven’t launched it yet so I’m watching as many videos on the subject that I can. Your process is like a lot of other videos I’ve seen and one I plan on doing. Thank. Side note, one of the first mods I’ve already done is from one of your other videos about putting an igloo cooler in the space leading up to the bow (the space that Tracker was calling a cooler) so thanks for that as well.
Like you, I always start my boat while it's on the trailer and drive it off, that way, if the motor won't start for any reason, my boat is still sitting on the trailer and I can pull it out of the water. I also tell people when it's your turn, it's YOUR turn, no one else's. Take your time because when you get in a hurry, that's when you mess up. Don't ask me how I know this 🤦🏻♂️
I like how you did your mirrors . And the whole video in general. But I don’t care how cold it is , I am going to have my windows rolled down backing the trailer into the water . And have a window breaker/ seat belt cutter at hands reach just in case I forget to roll the windows down . Plus I almost don’t ever take the plug out ( The Dustin Connell theory) If your bilge doesn’t work you have got a major issue. It’s better than forgetting plug like many many anglers do . Being retired, I can pick great weather and water conditions , so I’m not going to get allot of water in the boat . If I take the plug out , I don’t leave take area until plug goes back in. Another great thing for older anglers like me is Mercury motor app has great check lists on it that you can modify for your check list needs , like TP and dood wipes lol…..And all the basic get your boat ready needs . Love your channel and what you do on it . Keep up the great content! Cheers Paul

I hear you on leaving the plug in. At least here in Texas they can ding you for transporting a boat with any water in it due to the transportation of Zebra Mussels!

Thanks for the comment! And YES, quite a bit of snow down here. I bet we get 6"'today.

The ole rope method is pretty effective too!

Bet you're excited to get it on the water!
Glad you were able to use the igloo cooler on the 175 👍
@@goodmanfishing yes sir. Keep up the good work. Thanks.

Good approach! Definitely good point on it being your turn. Getting in a hurry leads to mistakes!
Get a Dakota boat retriever. Back your boat up slowly till it floats and the retriever pulls it to the dock for you. go park.
Will look into it 👍

Thanks for the comment. I'll let my Dad know the next time I see him, may he rest in peace.
