After a lot of research grabbed a Watt Cycle for $189 10 days ago which has the low temp protection. Size 24, price, saw the gutting video that showed it was a quality build. It for a C2 40lb Minn Kota and I hope I made the right choice.

Very good video! I got into LFP batteries pretty big a few years ago, building my own from component parts. I discovered that two, 12.8v, 100ah LFP was really more than I needed for my 24v trolling motor, with the way I fish. I eventually repurposed those batteries (along with others I built) for stationary storage of solar energy and built a dedicated, 24v, 50ah LFP battery for my boat. I've been very happy with the results.

Excellent info! Ok here’s my question, 24v Ultrex, two of the Li Times would be great! I’m going to stay with an AGM for cranking. Have you done any reviews on chargers? I’m thinking a Noco might be a good option. Thanks again.

I came to watch due to title but seems i missed something. One of the biggest reasons I came was to hear whether you need a 200 or step up to 300. At what point or lure weight do you feel the need to step into the 300? Speaking almost exclusively swimbaits, providing the correct spec'd rod is used, would you step up at 1.5oz+, 3oz+ or XYZ+?

Its easy. If you fish big baits and need a thicker line or you want to be able to throw long casts then go with 300 size... If not, you can fish with the 200. If i only want to choose one reel i would pick the 300 size.

Where did you get that rod butt holder insert at 5:12? Also, do you think i can fit 7'6" rods in this setup with a 175?

Any idea how far the weize battery has to discharge before it will accept a charge?

My experience is that float voltage is 13,7 V for a lead-acid charger. This means it is well suited to charge both a “12 V” lead acid battery and a “12 V” LiFePO4 battery to full charge.

Quick question, bought a weize battery and weize charger. I hooked up the charger leads backwards. It stayed this way for several minutes. Do you think I caused damage? Charger hasn't seemed to work since but maybe battery hasn't discharged enough? Help

I have a question I can’t really find an answer to on my engine website my boat has a 40/50amp stater at 4670 rpm I’m holding 14v charging do you think even if it’s charging a lead acid battery I can get away with running a lithium or 2 wired in parallel to up my run time?
