Martin, this was an important video for me. I bought a 2022 Ford F150 5.0 with max towing package (13,000 lb) before i even started thinking about a boat. Was originally thinking about an Air Stream trailer. I was worried I might have to upgrade to an F250. Now I feel relieved with my 1/2 ton F150 outfitted with the max towing package.
Thanks for watching! Everybody always asks about my 1/2 ton pickup for towing. My last 1/2 ton pickup could do 7,800 lbs, and wouldn't be able to tow the RT27-OB.
When you tow, do you take down the Bimini? Also when on the water, I never see the Bimini down on any Ranger Tugs, Do they not come down or is there a reason they are always up? Thanks!
I've trailered Channel Surfing twice (had a to borrow a trailer as I don't own one). I only trailered the boat about 45 miles each way. I never took the bimini down. I do know folks that trailer their boat primarily, and they take the bimini down for long tows (like from California to Washington). On the water, I don't see a reason to take off the bimini, unless a hurricane was coming...
No issues. My truck has the towing package and is rated for 10,500lbs from the factory. I also don’t tow the boat very often. I don’t even own a trailer, I had to borrow a trailer for this video. And when I have towed my boat, it’s about 45 miles each way on relatively flat ground (no mountain passes). If I bought Channel Surfing to be a trailerable boat I’d of bought a 3/4 or 1 ton pickup. The 1/2 ton pickup I have has a great tow rating though and she tows fine.
Ur winch is way to high on the trailer Instead of moving the tree and doing all that see if u can lower the winch to be just over the eye of the boat hook eye .
I think the trailer flex's on the boat ramp. When the boat is on the trailer and the trailer is in the water, the bow touches the trailer like it should. This is a common issue with Ranger Tugs on trailers.
i think you should know what you talk about . r 27 is model not size , the ranger info under r 27 shows the length of the boat properly.you and 80 % of sales pepole do not look at the co. specs

I know those boats do not come with a trailer. about how much are we adding for the trailer on the overall prize.? Thanks.
Trailers cost about $12k for the boat.
Love the look of the boat but that outboard hanging off the stern . That's where I get thrown off
I like the outboard look. th-cam.com/users/shortsCYX1siG1oAA?feature=share
What is your trans temp on that truck while towing that boat?

@@Letsgochannelsurfing Yeah I know but I want to know what is the trans temp while towing?

The waterline as measured by the factory is 27'. But it's LOA is 32' (technically, 31' something). Thanks for watching!
Great video at the STUART BOAT SHOW New R27 was at $236K
Our boat show (Seattle) starts first week of Feb.
Definite inflation over the past two to three years for sure.
