"Solastalgia is a term coined by Australian philosopher Glenn Albrecht in 2003. It describes a form of emotional or existential distress that is experienced by individuals when they witness the negative environmental changes in their home or familiar surroundings. Unlike traditional forms of nostalgia, which involve a longing for a specific time or place from the past, solastalgia is about the distress caused by the degradation of one's environment in the present. Solastalgia is often associated with the impact of environmental changes, such as deforestation, climate change, or industrial development, on a person's sense of place and well-being. It can manifest as a feeling of powerlessness, grief, and a sense of loss as the landscape or environment that once provided comfort and familiarity is altered or destroyed. It's closely linked to the broader field of ecopsychology, which explores the relationship between human psychology and the natural environment. In essence, solastalgia highlights the psychological and emotional toll that environmental degradation and change can have on individuals, especially when these changes are occurring in the places they call home. It serves as a reminder of the intricate connection between the environment and human well-being."

Solastalgia~ As opposed to nostalgia--the melancholia or homesickness experienced by individuals when separated from a loved home--solastalgia is the distress that is produced by environmental change impacting on people while they are directly connected to their home environment
I’ve been a metal head most of my 42 years but avoided the more extreme end (for the most part) for a good chunk of that time. I’ve only been listening to extreme stuff for like 4 years. These guys definitely helped guide me into this world and I love them for it.

Great performance video. I miss stuff like this. Its all visualizations now, that kills a lot of videos for me being a film grad. This record is banger too. I am 45 but love a lot of the modern metalcore and deathcore out. Lyrics:
Feast your eyes on our only future
Neglected, faded and falling apart
Watching the world you know disintegrate
Catch fire, situation already dire
Consequences now fulfilled from two centuries past
Worlds behind
In the rearview reflects a clear view of tomorrow
Veiled, draped in sorrow
Jailed, unshaped and hollow
Old world has vanished
Expired
To our minds we are banished
Inside
Forever
This is our world now
Trapped in the self with no way out
What the fuck did we do?
What the fuck did we think we could prove?
Life is torture
Life is torture
Life is torture
The slowest suffering
We had our hopes
We fashioned our ropes
From which we now swing in the breeze
They didn't work
We went berserk
Trying in vain just to be put at ease
The winds of solastalgia
Blowing the embers of past transgressions
Burning our faces
Leaving a charred world
Devoid of hope
The greatest depression
And our dishonorable discharge
Forever recorded
In our DNA we left behind
For we discarded
That which reminds
Nigh
The end of hope
The solastalgia
Evil nostalgia of better times
The end of hope
Lament together
Despair forever, lose our minds
The end of hope
The solastalgia
Evil nostalgia of better times
The end of hope
Lament together
Despair forever, lose our minds

(same with Anaal Nathrakh, Meshuggah, Napalm Death and other few bands)
This is the pinnacle. It doesnt get better.
This is....Oh, Fuck...its...something incredible!
Perfect match music and lyrics, masterpiece!!!
This is such a powerful song and the music video did it justice
Im so glad i have been listening to this band for years
A melhor banda do mundo 🤘🏼

Cattle é simplesmente foda demais!
Nigh
The end of hope
The solastalgia
Evil nostalgia of better times
The end of hope
Lament together
🖤💔Despair forever, lose our minds
This is one of the few songs that captures the feelings of developing chronic dyspnea as a breathing disease, thanks guys!
i wonder what this would sound like backed by an orchestra.. or string quartet. it's deranged and beautiful by itself but my curiosity can't help but think about it
Solastalgia~ As opposed to nostalgia--the melancholia or homesickness experienced by individuals when separated from a loved home--solastalgia is the distress that is produced by environmental change impacting on people while they are directly connected to their home environment
Simply awesome!!!
I’ve been a metal head most of my 42 years but avoided the more extreme end (for the most part) for a good chunk of that time. I’ve only been listening to extreme stuff for like 4 years. These guys definitely helped guide me into this world and I love them for it.
This is the album of the year!!!!!
3:26 This melody riff is what convinced me that this album is something truly special. It's definitely one of my favourite Cattle Decapitation moments. It's incredibly subtle, but immensely powerful, emotional and metal as.
My favorite band ever! 🤘
Travis is a very good performer and actor.
yes a great ACT or
@@HilaryBailey-w1m acter???🫣
Super zespół
Fucking gold!
I can't wait yo 🔥
Life is torture 😊 one of my favorite off the new album. Can’t wait to see them in December
Your music just gets better and better year after year...
Keep the grind up Brothers 🤘🤘
Cant wait to see them next year.
I must say, breathtaking album.
Absolute banger from a great album!
They literally CAN'T make bad music. This album and Death Atlas completely changed the face of metal for me
This has become one of my favorite Bands. Travis' Lyrics are so deep & eye opening.
These guys are legends.
Absolutely amazing!!!
Great performance video. I miss stuff like this. Its all visualizations now, that kills a lot of videos for me being a film grad. This record is banger too. I am 45 but love a lot of the modern metalcore and deathcore out. Usually I would put these guys in with bands I can't really do because its just so heavy, brutal and fast I cannot mentally keep up with it but I can with Cattle Decapitation. Amazing band and would probably pay to see them live which is rare for me to say. I have too many medical issues and going to live shows is so hard for me but I'd tough it out to see these guys do their thing on a stage...
Epic. I might cry when I see them in December. Cattle Decap is perfect. 🤘🏻
I’ve cried at their show outta body experience
@@Vikdecap22 I’m so ready for it 😭🤘🏻
Seeing them next year in March 🤘
Travis has the gnarliest vocals I've ever heard in my life.
