Video directed by Joey Durango
Lyrics:
Newcomers dance and sing
Relieved by the passing of spring
They feel the grace of the sun
Their misfortune has not yet begun
Where the men used to come for their drinks
Where the children would play endlessly
They have taken our everything
They know not what tomorrow shall bring
On the opposite side of the field
A vengeance that shall never yield
Fathers weep for their sons
Their suffering cannot be undone
Why cry?
From squalor and ruin we rise
They reap what they've sown
Arise, arise
Past the horizon lay paradise
But here the rivers run red
Dregs of the world seen through their eyes
Less than the dung below the flies
Fields of the dead bake in the light
Children, women and men, their bodies lie
Piled in the streets stacked six feet high
Tell me why, oh why
Limbs contorted
Anatomical morbid distortions
At a biblical limit the purging
In our hearts is a rage ever burning
Come the next morning
We attack with a thousand scornings
Look upon us like death is emerging
Beginning the righteous charge, disparaging
Now it's our turn for the scourging
With a hatred relentlessly swarming
Skies wail as rockets are hurling
Falling down to earth screaming and bursting
Miles, miles and miles of corpses
They bear witness to vindictive forces
As far as the eyes can see
If you saw it you wouldn't believe it
When will these fucking wars end?
Deathcore with that symphonic edge always wins! Congrats on the new record, guys.

Oh hey friend

As expected.
@infinity im waiting for that notification!!
These guys never fuck around. They're so different from other deathcore bands in every perfect way possible
Because they are not deathcore anymore. They are a symphonic death metal band now.
they hardly are a deathcore band anymore they still have some elements but they added so much influence from symphonyc death metal
originally i didn't like this song.... but i think it'll grow on me
Just found these guys and i love them , these guys and Himsa is what I'm jamming
Ben is not just a lyricist. He's a poet.
Every generation of bands has its hand full of genius lyricists. Ben is for sure one of the greats of his generation of bands.
His lyrics are absolutely phenomenal. I just recently started listening to them after hearing "Blood in the Sands of Time" for the first time a few months ago. That song inspired me to start writing. There is so much to be spoken about the world and society we are living in.
At the risk of repeating myself: one of the most talented and interesting metal bands today.
They're to deathcore what Lamb of God was to thrash in the mid-00's: a killer breath of fresh air.
But LOG weren't thrash
Log thrash? Lol what?
😅 @ thrash.... but i understand ur point ☺....
Lamb of God was never thrash, dood...I am not really one to use sub genres either but they are not thrash.
@@Enkiguy Groove, right? Not that it really matters.
Ben’s vocals are something else, but Chris’ backing vocals are haunting
The perfect cohesion of every member of the band is insane
Love the profile pic my brotha, looks familiar lol
Right?
Everyone in the band is a team player and im all for it. Love the music these gentleman make
Chris is amazing. He’s also the guitarist for Currents, the metalcore band, and they are insane too
@@whoadare3621 based on his profile pic I think he knows that lmao

Ben's growls got deeper! Awesome
Song slaps. Enjoying this death metal route really
That’s the power of updating your mixing software.
@Fractal Chaos Naw they’re deeper that’s for sure.
@Fractal Chaos The difference is on the first 2 records the mic was held by the foam, these last 2 are free of hands
This song live was insane. I'm glad I got over my social anxiety and finally went to a show. Tuned out the people and focused on the music. VIP was well worth the extra $60 too!
I'm happy for you! :)
Goddamn, I just found out that they are going to be in Prague next year. Why do I have to be at work. Goddamnit, I want to hear this live 😭
@@lazybastard7847 They’re super good live
@@home541_ best cure for social anxiety is facing it head on, at least it worked for me. I got a job at a HVAC company and had to actually talk to customers, and make recommendations. Best thing ive done, it cured my anxiety. hope you can also find something that works for you.
@@thegmork3944 I do good in a professional setting it’s when I’m in a casual setting my brain breaks
That guitar solo tears me up on command without any exaggeration. I have never experienced something like that. Thank you shadow of intent for creating such pleasure through music.
God damn, here's Shadow of Intent, still without a bad song. Keep this shit up my g's
Legit one of the only bands in every genre I listen to that doesn't have a bad song
@@somMelon for real, every artist I’ve ever listened to has at least one bad song. My childhood favorite band, avenged sevenfold, I don’t like a couple of songs off their newest album. I don’t care for their cover songs. I don’t care for hip hop, I don’t care for polyphia although I admit g.o.a.t is pretty alright. But Shadow of Intent is another story. I’ve listened to literally their whole discography trying to find a bad song but they don’t even have one. All of their songs have something unique and catchy about them, be it a riff or a drum pattern or a vocal line or what have you, they all have something good in them.
@@somMelon did you ever hear the song they put out with alex the terrible? That song wasn't bad but holy fuck the production made it unlistenable. In the bands defense they said it was their first time to trying to master their own shit but that's the only song I can say was bad at least until they re-released it with better production, then it was a banger.
@@everrest8830 no I didn't, I listened to all their stuff on Spotify and the mix there is good. I listened to the YT version now and yeah... the mix is pretty bad
Honestly think this is testament to how good of a song writer Wiseman is. I haven’t heard a SOI or Currents song I don’t like
With everything good going on in the scene, nothing makes me more excited than a Shadow of Intent release!
I have no words to describe how absolutely incredible this song is.
ITS A MASTERPIECE
more or less, it's like what you said
One of the best song I heard from Shadow Of Intent, absolutely a masterpiece.
One of the best song is Death Metal universe…
@@musicisthecure6934 it's deathcore tho
@@senseinuuh it is deathcore/death metal dude
I don't understand how they aren't insanely popular by now
Must just be how heavy they are. This level of heaviness appeals to a fairly small crowd, at least compared with other genres. As far as really really heavy bands go they have achieved a pretty good level of popularity. I do agree though, they should be among the most popular extreme bands, and I feel like they're not quite there. Close, but other lesser and/or equal bands get more attention and praise.
Nearly all the good bands arent really big. Many bands get big from being lucky.
USA now only promotes anti white gloablist filth. America First
@@andyGroyoer Let's not make this uncomfortably political for no reason.
People would rather listen to trash rap.
Shadow of Intent has already solidified themselves as legends in the game. If they decided to end it today, they have already left their mark...and it's HUGE. 🎸🎵
Let them please not do that
Legends? Could you please not overreact?
Released their first album only 5 years ago. Calm the fuck down.
The term legend gets thrown around too much
LEGENDS? PAHAHAHAHAH
That guitar tone on the solo is so clear , you can hear every note
I don't know if you heard clearly but the intro riff sounded more like in the melodicdeath metal territory too as well
As always - IT SLAPS 😍
Mad respect for y'all showin another great band love!! I applaud this!! 👏 👏 👏 👏🤘🤘🤘🤘
Holy hell fellas... monstrous in all the best possible ways.
This song hits real grim and hard right now.
True. :( It fits so well it gives me goosebumps.
Especially when you Ukrainian...
I absolutely love that Ben has trailed away from the Halo lyrics, while the Halo deathcore was a game changer his vocals tell hauntingly beautiful stories and im 110% for it
It's super cool to see him using his and Chris' lyrical prowess, poetry, and intelligence to spit some real shit about our history, our nature, the direction things are headed, etcetera.
I mean.. Shadow of Intent is literally FROM Halo..
@@Wolklaw Yeah, but they have strayed away from Halo as a theme. Melancholy was a concept album the band came up with, and Elegy will be based on history and warnings about the dark tendencies and influences that lead to disasters, tragedies, or restrict our freedoms.
@@evanblake5252 I have always loved Chris' vocals, they harmonize well with Ben and it gives the melodic music more depth but keeps it gritty, Chris is 75% of SOI
@@evanblake5252 Melancholy for me was one of the best albums of all time, I was disappointed with their other releases to be frank, Intensified Genocide and the Lamb Of God cover were good but it just didn't do SOI's name any justice like this track did. I've been waiting to post this on my sobriety date since it came out. Today's the day. 14 years. It's been a hell of a year. This song in particular helped me to not follow a friend into the Void
Very proud of you!! Keep it up 🥺🖤
14 years and you're still bitching? I'm on my 3rd lol not a great sign 😅
This album is going to be insanely powerful, production is on another level and the lyrical content is so intense, the themes of this album will be next level, no other band is doing anything like this, keep it going, this is sick!

OIF here, it does hit home hard.
OIF 2004, 2009, 2010 here. No matter how badly the media wants the country to forget us, we survived and made the best of our situations, and *we* are the ones keeping our fallen brothers' memories alive. They can't take that away from us. No matter how hard they try and "woke" revise what we did once the dust has settled and books are written.
Shadow of Intent never misses with a fabulous and incredible song!
I really like the fact that they are not "stuck" to the same genre , but they are exploring different paths. They mastered "symphonic" deathcore, now they are heading for symphonic death metal (or whatever this is).
Talent level, over 9000!
Yea they want to leave the deathcore genre, but still want to maintain some aspects of it. I think Ben said that they indeed wanted to go towards death metal
@@brandonwilson1954 seriously? I missed that. I will always Love Shadow of Intent but I am sad if they leave the Core genre

In all the music released within the last 30 years nothing even comes close to this. The vocals, the instrumentals.
This is another level of artistry.
I didn't think I could love them anymore! This is literally the most epic song I've ever heard!
Я тут лежу просто офигевший. Слов нет, одни эмоции.
Жеееееесть
One of most beautiful symphonic deathcore songs ever. I was actually not into this genre before but now, Shadow of Intent have 200% convinced me to change my favorite genre into deathcore. There's actually not a single bad songs of them. It's insane.
But Deathcore is filled with tatlentless overproduced bands that all sound similar. That a band or two are great, doesn't mean automatically your favorite genre is now Deathcore
What a beautiful yet heavy, emotionally charged song. I'm extremely excited to see what the future holds for this album.
The sheer talent that each of you possess is, far beyond extraordinary.
January 14th is gonna be insane. Shadow of Intent, Fit for An Autopsy, Enterprise Earth and there's still 3 months for someone else to announce an album.
And underoath
I still can't get into Dan's weird cattle decapitationish clear tones. Everything else is good tho.
It should be official day of the deathcore 😍

Not really deathcore anymore but yeah, these dudes always crush it.
