One of your best vids Graeme. I swear, earth worm is the bast bait in the world. I'm sure it will work from the Amazon to the Arctic. The bird song, the mist, the variety of fish, all capped with that gorgeous golden tench. Totally Awesome for sure !
I really appreciate the way how you are fishing and filming. I am from Germany and I was visiting GB some times in hope to find you fishing somewhere just to express my appreciation to you personally. Keep on going. Absolutely one of the best channels ever 😀!
I try to do everything on my own, literally in a matter of hours, I don't have the luxury of just being able to concentrate on the fishing while someone else does the filming...it just wouldn't come out the same, plus I enjoy the challenge of getting all the shots.
Hi Graham me and my husband have just started fishing after retiring your videos have helped us so much with your brilliant tips your passion is next to none thank you.
It is so inspiring to see someone who turned a passion into a way of life. To follow your dream is so important. I love your banter wit and you are a powerhouse of information. Really relaxing and therapeutic thank you Graham
I actually met Jack Hargreaves once as about a 10 year old driving through Lymington with my parents...(I wasn't actually doing the driving as a 10 year old though !!)...
Even as a kid I loved watching him. His knowledge of the countryside was remarkable. I remember trying to have to guess what an obscure object tool was for before him telling the viewer. Still watch his videos on here.
@@2wheelsrbest327. I do too. I'm from Pompey and they used to fish the Southern Television boat competition every year from wooden clinker built boats using solid fibreglass rods. All the rods were the same and when a biggish fish was hooked, it was always on ' Jack's rod '. Great bloke.
@@mickypful That's interesting micky.I loved his programmes but I went fishing with someone when I was 12 and never wet again4 yrs ago aged 67 I thought I,d try it again and now cannot get enough of it. Jack planted the seed but it took years to grow it seems.
@@2wheelsrbest327 I know it's the saying ' things were better in the past ' but as someone who's sea-fished constantly for over 50 years, I'm afraid the Solent water's are a shadow of their former selves. Like TA , I now enjoy freshwater fishing as well. Ride safe.
Thanks for another awesome video, listening to the dawn chorus and watching the sun come up, loved it. You cant beat a engiish early morning. Great variety of fish. 👌👌
I'm getting up at 5am tomorrow....off to Willinghurst top lake...last 24 hr session of 2022...was getting concerned about usual 7pm slot Graeme....thought the worst ...so glad I saw this.... you're the best mate.
Yeah it was just a late upload due to work etc..Good luck with your last early starter at Willinghurst. Also a nice place to be at dawn(depending on temperatures !)
Fantastic just gotta love the enthusiasm you show and what a great session that was. Thanks for taking the time and trouble to upload these videos just superb.
Grame you're right. If it does get better than that it's not much better. I love when you fish that little corner of that pond. First of all, you always seem to have a blast. Secondly you never fail to hook & land poundage of mixed species. Thanx bud. This vid made my week
Tench. The most beautiful fish in our waters. Pure muscle. Brings back memories of fishing Tip Top (Newton Abbot) many years ago. Fantastic lake, sadly now filled in. Thanks Graeme.
What an absolute pleasure it is to share your enjoyment of float fishing on these videos as my friend and I return to this amazing pastime after some 40 years. Walking into a local tackle shop for the first time left us somewhat amazed at where fishing has ‘gone’ but 3 months ‘down the line’ 😁🙈 now and we are enjoying ourselves immensely both having greatly improved on our personal best catches.😁
Enjoyment is what its all about...On the very rare occasion I venture into a tackle shop I am always amazed and bewildered by all the small bits and bobs on the walls and stands...I haven't a clue what they are supposed to do,so I just get worms or maggots and go out to catch some fish !!...Same methods for the last 60 years.
My dad started taking me fishing from a very young age. Park lakes, canals, pits, that sort of thing. He fished very simply, peacock quill float, single shot and his bait of choice was either bread or hemp on the hook, roach were his favourite quarry. He used to laugh at me when I’d buy yet another float to add to my collection. “How much did you pay for that?” ,he’d say. He said he could buy a year’s worth of floats for less than a shilling,a whole peacock quill which he’d cut to various lengths. Over the years my fishing has taken me far and wide, including fly fishing in the Maldives! I’m 65 now and yesterday I fished a small local lake using a tiny float, single no4 shot,18 hook and a bit of worm. I caught plenty and thoroughly enjoyed it. Dad was right🙂
Hello Graham, great vid as per but i've had a couple of pints and that headcam was making me wobble, ike being in a fighter cockpit. Keep em coming, good on yer.
Nice video Graeme 🎣. Really miss Tench & Bream fishing 🎣. As we don't have them over here in 🇨🇦 🥺. Those big slimmy dustbin lids, & Those teddy bear eyes.
My type of fishing Graham but I’ve been Ill and unable to get out so watching you just compensates for that and I love the fact that your old school ( I’m 66) and can use old school gear and technology to catch fish
Early morning fishing is the best time for sure, but I'm slightly older than you and am now finding the mind is willing but the body weak. I can't bring myself to sleeping in the car. I like a warm bed and a toilet nearby as a must for me now. I admire your enthusiasm and determination. Love the photography and early morning mist and sounds. I miss that. See you there at 10.30 am!!!!
I never seem to get time to proof watch the films so it all gets crashed in...no fancy stuff from me,just the real meat and potatoes of what fishing is about.
Cheers Graham. This is just what the, doctor ordered literally. Was cycling home thursday and knocked off my bike by a car. Spent the evening in a&e torn neck, chest shoulder mussels 2 cracked ribs bang and cuts to head, badly twisted knee. You making me laugh is much needed but painful too 😂😂. Just realised get past 50 and, things hurt and, take, longer to heal. Hope Soon to be, back out there. So keep the uploads coming.
Sorry to hear of your A&E visit, doesn't sound too enjoyable and yes once past 50 everything takes longer to put right..I'm only just starting to be a bit careful myself now,one good fall and it could be several months of no fishing..stay safe out there....
While I am a fan of catching a big fish, I think I tend to enjoy a trip more if I've seen a lot of any size fish and a good spread of species. Much like you had on this trip.
I'm grateful for anything now..only just in from a pike session..just one 3 pounder, and that fell off by the net. I'm consoling myself with a glass of the red stuff. Blanked on the River a few days ago as well...I hope its not going to be a run of them.

sorry for nothing another great vid my good man love it makes me want to go fishing instead of metal detecting that has taken over as my main hobby good work
Yes, I used to fish the second spring tide in November. It used to be a 3/5 days spell of prime Cod fishing on the South coast...don't know about this year though, but the "Shore Force" is strong at the moment....
Tench are like beautifull girls appearing at night said my mate calling at my house after i'd left for a good night fishing session😂, i knew he was my best mate...nobody else was prepared to spend their dollar on the ground bait she required
Only just in from work I'm afraid ,which is why the film had a late upload,I started at 10am so I figure an 11 hour day including moving double beds upstairs is enough at my age !! Not even time to start editing, won't be out of bed too long.

Was worth the wait, love this kind of fishing, never know what's gonna be on the line next! 👌🙂
Yeah, I thought for a second it was springtime again.
Excellent as usual Graeme, my favourite kind of fishing, watching a float on a hot summers day, you can’t beat it.
You got to realise the passion this takes to do this as the days pass. The true essence of summer fishing captured fantastically. Nice one Graeme….
I remember when i was a teenager, i would never wake up for school at 7 am but when it was fishing i would be up at 2am and out in 2 minutes :))
Lol, I remember waiting for my parents to fall asleep and sneaking out at midnight, I must have only been 9 or 10 years old at the time 🙂
Loved that. The wildlife and song were mesmerising could listen to that all day
just beautiful , real old skool.

Love fishing on a Misty dawn...
4am love that time of the day. When my Dad was still here 4am at wylands watching the mist rise at the water
Is that Wylands on the River Loddon ??
Or maybe its a place called Wyvols..I drove past it the other day and used to fish that stretch of the Loddon for Roach about 40 years ago.
No. at Battle near Hastings.
If we're not there we were fishing the beach between Deal and Dover
Definitely not a roach. Better to be late than not at all! Love the channel and being retired as well, don’t know where you find the time!
