Had a very good relaxing Sunday watching 13 hours marathon of Graeme. And really loving this TA fishing episode . like the super cool grandad I wish had. Don't get me wrong my grandad was really cool 25 years in the army and air force and also loved fishing but unfortunately he passed before I was born. ... Absolutely love this channel . I've said on all the posts that I'm just getting back into fishing after nearly 20-years so much because everything has changed.. Graham's style of fishing is old school and that is the best type of fishing. Go with the gut 😁

Love the Warwickshire Avon. It's such a pity you never tried dead baiting the minnows. There are some really big Perch in there. My dad and me had 14 the one day up to 4Lb. The zander also take the minnows as do the big Chub. Strangest fish We caught on the Avon was a great big rogue Rainbow Trout of about 5lb on bread. Some great big bream in there too and the odd Tench and carp. My dad was known as the Zander man and he even ended up dying in the Avon (true story) . God bless him. Thanks for this video Graham really enjoyed it.

I used to bailiff this stretch for Warwick AC . It’s a very lovely place .. until after dark 😀😀. Above the weir in the mill race used to be the best Dace fishery in Warwickshire. I’ve had them to 11oz and seen them caught over a pound .
However the finest fish I ever saw from there I caught myself . A stunning December roach of 2.1 🌞🌞the fish of a lifetime. I absolutely loved the place but couldn’t manage it on my own . Then there were the cormorants and the fish kill and the issues with access and ornithologists .
Listen out for the big splash at night .. ☺️the local tales tell it all .

    a tip for cheap bait:
buy 20-25kg of mixed pellet for £30-35. you can then separate the larger pellets for carp/cats and use the smaller ones for river fishing
buy 20-25kg of unprepared seed/spod mix for £20-25.
both bags will usually do a season saving me hundreds in little tackle shop visits

What more can you ask for to start the weekend? Graeme takes us to a beautiful piece of countryside and catches a real mixed bag of fish including a nice perch and large eels. The kind of fishing that requires careful casting and a lot of thought. He makes it look effortless but from experience I know its not. The last three/four fishing videos have been outstanding, thanks for posting. A small tip not fishing related if you want to make authentic teak oil 70 percent white spirit 30 percent boiled linseed oil. That's a recipe from a very old company I used to work for.

Trout or Dace are my choice of livebaits. They seem to last for ages, got to admit I always feel a little guilty when putting them on the trebles, but they outperform a deadbait or a lure many times over. I can catch 5-10 Pike in a day session, I'm lucky to get a single run on deadbaits

I spent 3 hours on a great stretch of the Avon in Worcestershire last night, a couple of Chublets and multiple .Eels, 4-5 baits tried, multiple areas of water. I've always wondered, is it "allowed" to take small roach or minnows for live or dead bait? I always thought it's frowned upon, or is it a case by case basis on what fisheries allow it? Used to use sprats for dead baits when I went pike fishing, some of the best childhood memories out on the bank chasing toothy monsters :)

Just check each fishery you go to . You can buy small (0r large) Roach frozen from many tackle shops. I was recently shown some big frozen Roach that must have gone 2lbs apiece. I will try to get a photo of them ,quite impressive, but I would sooner have caught them on my match rod, rather than feed them to a Pike. I can't seem to find any fresh Sprats any more which was my favourite bait for deadbait twitching. I know some tackle shops sell them but the fresh Sprats which I could then grade and freeze into sizes are just not about now. Maybe Billingsgate fish market might have them .

@TAFishing I always used to go to the supermarket and get some sprats from the fish counter. Great bait for Pike, had a beast down Duxford farms on a very small tributary of the Thames, very little room to fight, took 15 mins to get him in.. My all time favourite fresh water species.

Been watching your old films where you’ve been using different baits like the garden peas I used them last weekend and had some success. Just watched the film where you used chips. Is there any other weird and wacky baits you use that work for carp.

Did you manage to unhook the eel? I’ve caught half a dozen and never managed it. Someone told me to cut the line and they pass the hook

Here's a challenge for ya! Turn the nettles into fishing line and catch net to bring home the fish! You can do it! I am jealous of your 7 foot nettle. The tallest I have been able to grow them is around 4 ft here.

Great video too. I’d struggle at 40 trying to beat my way through that foliage 😂
