That was one of the best videos on how to fish a River that i have ever seen. I love my Roach Fishing so to watch a Master was a joy. I fish the Dorset Stour where i live and that still produces big bags on the right day. Fabulous viewing. I am now a member so i shall watch land learn watch you. even at 71 we can still learn

My godparents were from Stratford I haven't been there for years. Nice memories of the chain ferry as a child. It's a place I used to enjoy visiting. This brought back many happy memories

Cheers! I was puffing more because I had to dash to the other end of the stretch and back before the start in all my clobber, which cost me 20 mins setting up time! Plus I'm unfit ha ha!

A wag or stick might've been ok if Id had time to set either up, but I also felt it was shallow enough and not fast enough to keep the fish on the pole line. Id like to go back with the rods now though...

@JonArthur very different indeed, but I do have my own small lake in the garden. I have some fish that look like Bass, the trouble is when I catch one, my Mrs runs into the kitchen and cooks it for dinner. Very tasty too.

Really enjoy and relate to how you fish different venues where in summer you'll be on carp and a 20lb might be a big fish but on the river you give the same respect, probably more to a 12oz roach. Don't think you could ask for more than second so brilliant result. Can't compete for first when it's one shoal of bream that's fed.

Those perch were proper bonus fish and a couple of little chunky chavendar. Nice match, not too many boats, though sometimes one boat is too many. Great result 2nd overall. At least we now know where all the bream were sat, Lucy's Mill. Fantastic weight. Good job Jon.

Jon had a piece of sponge taped to his pole rest for when he uses rod and line so he can degrease the line as he winds in
Yep I just leave it on as it does no harm
Its an old sponge taped to the spraybar which I can add detergent to for waggler fishing. I just flipped the bar upside down when Im not needing it.
