you can use the wifi manager library it's eaiser to remote config on your smart phone any ssid and password for an access point you want the esp32 to use for internet connection

This seems overly complicated. The method I use is (1) Retrieve stored SSID/Pass from flash, (2) Try to connect - If success, goto step 4 , (3) If fail, then setup LocalAP with generic credentials, (4) Start local webserver plus whatever code your ESP is supposed to be doing (with option in webserver to setup WiFi including lising local AP's to avoid issues)
Good method for an experienced user that can use "this wifi has no internet" message as an entry point the esp32 ap and configure it. Otherwise for a simple user the ble is easier
+techiesms Perhaps because the product owner may not want to use Espressif branded app to have total control on the product's brand. Unless Espressif provides an SDK to integrate into one's own app. HTML on the other hand is much simpler.
