I have read out an ESP32 according to these instructions. Once with the baud rate mentioned in the video and then again considerably slower. The CRC of the two versions are different. In the Hex Editor comparison, there are many FF and 00 areas in the fast version. Therefore better read out slowly.

But having said this, please make a video about "protecting our ESP32 firmware". Because if it's easy to copy ESP32 code, it will discourage everyone from developing security related devices if there is no firmware protection. Please do make one video and thanks in advance.
Is there any way to get the original sketch off? I have a device with a screen that came with a cute profile/digital business card thing on the touchscreen. I would love to know what libraries they are using or more about the screen itself so I can design my own stuff to be displayed.

Yes you can. Because whichever platform you use to upload code in the esp board it will be uploaded in .bin format only And I have shown the process of extracting the bin file

thanks , it worked ike a marvel, had to delete the " " in the cmd mode, had no problem to read/write the .bin file on the C:\ root directory
