The mere fact that 40 years later, the movie draws dedication and fans to this level, is a testament to the genius of the director, actors, extras et al.
When they made these cheap movie nobody expects that it will be the Bikers Movie Nr. 1 still 45 yrs later and absolutely CULT all over the world. They were happy to make enough money with this movie to earn the costs...
Damn, them Aussies don't play, they're some serious fans!! It's a real cool thing to see such dedication and love for something, specially after four decades. The land down under seems like a very special place to visit.
How much FUN that would be to get together to celebrate one of the greatest motion pictures of the modern age and to see many of those who worked on the film. This would be so much fun to attend and get to see all those great cars!
Wow, this is so cool. I loved the Mad Max movies and knew there was a big following, but had no idea there were so many die hard fans. The cars and motorcycles, just awesome. A big thumbs up from USA. 👍
Thank you so much for sharing this. I am in France so it is impossible for me to attend this kind of event (I have not even been to Australia once, you are far dear friends) and it is wonderful that other fans share these kinds of things. Thanks again. Greetings from France
Oh this is awesome!!! The cars, and those vintage bikes! Love it all!!! And of course, all things Mad Max are just perfection!! Thanks for sharing this!!!!
That is so awesome, would love to go to that event. Ever since a kid and saw the movie Mad Max I fell in love with the V8 Interceptor, found out that out here in the USA the car is a Ford Grand Torino but in Australia it's a Ford Falcon. I'm 43 now but I would love to build a USA version of the V8 Interceptor as a replica using the Ford Grand Torino. Very expensive classic car though and hard to find.
The Australian Ford Falcon is a fair bit different from the Grand Torino though the shapes are similar. The Falcon as used in the movie is unique to Australia. The movie car currently resides in Florida if you want to see the real deal.
Yep, Torino is a totally different car, the Clevo engine is the only similarity. There is a TH-cam tube channel called nicks garage that built a Torino replica, look him up.

Man, the Pursuit Special is the perfect hot rod body style. The body style wasn't available in the United States. As close as we ever got to that body style was probably the 68 AMC AMX and Javelin. Its like every hot rod I ever drew as a kid, but I had never seen the car I was drawing until I saw Mad Max and then later when I saw the rare AMXs. It gives me a warm feeling seeing the Mad Max cars here. Thank you.
That was awesome. Loved this movie since it was first on cable in the U.S. in 1980(I was 9 when i saw it). Great to see the stars come out for this. Classic car movie!
O yes im a big fan of the movie Mad Max im enjoyed watching all the vehicles some actors from the movie like the goose and more. big hi from BOSNIA AND HERCEGOVINA..
Insane I was 9 years old when I saw the movie the first time. I watch it at least once a year, my fathers-day present to myself I hope I can make the next one in Clunes
A movie I watched in my childhood. As a man at 52 I still do. I love the fact that some of the cast are still alive. But I'm sad that Mel didn't show up. He was the Lethal Weapon of the movie. I'm in North Carolina, but would love too go too Broken Hill where it all started. Long live the cast, crew, and The Road Warrior. Thank you. P.S I hope you all and the ones reading this can meet on the endless road above, and talk about the love of cars, family, and freedom.
It was ahead of its time. Back then, you saw it at the Drive-in, so you can imagine, the cars and bikes there. Leaving the Drive-in was a bit of an event too🤣🤣🤣
AWESOME! What great sports the actors and crew were to participate in this, so many years later. I hope they know how much it must have meant to all the fans present. I only wish I could have been there, that would be the coolest thing ever. :)
i was 17 when i saw this in the theater . It was an awesome movie and after seeing the goose on the 1000 Kawasaki i said i will have me a Kawasaki KZ. which i got . Great seeing the reunion .

Woooooow!!!! This remainds me of my youth, Is wonderfull!!!
Pity Mel never comes to these events. The film made him. Think he owes it to the fans
Agreed!
I believe he wishes he could sometimes.

The chopper with the sidecar that had the bubble top is still around by all accounts. Pity it couldn’t have been there too.
