Turned out really nice. I’m sure it will sell very fast. What a unique vision you had. A tip on the grain filler is to use regular spackle watered down slightly. Much easier to apply than the dry dex and also easier to remove the excess. Aqua coat makes a clear, grain filler, which would work very well for paint washes.
Yes I do like my Drydex but the lid wasn’t on tight and it had hardened a bit. I do like the wood filler tip as well!

I would say it will sell for $500 to $600. There are so many people in this area that want something different than the typical looking dresser. This would be wonderful to decorate with. Great job and love your videos. I might even get something! I need night stands with cabinets underneath to keep stuff off the top.

So were you able to just sand down the drawer handles, even the chewed up ones? i wished you would have added more filming on the handles. What sander did you use on the handles? This free trash pickup turned out great. I hope you get a good price for it.
Another amazing result! Great contrast. I could never have an idea as to the true market place worth of your furniture. I do know in the States & UK for instance the work is worth much much more then people would pay here in Australia! People here simply will not pay premium prices for they the culture thinks of as simply painted junk! Its rather difficult. I do commission work that is much fairer. But I would say no way we would get anywhere near half the prices you do!

How does the Dri-DEX not get rewet and fall apart or turn to mush. I’m not sure I understand how it’s not possible. Is there some pin missing?
I think that dresser is oak. I have one similar.
Out of curiosity, why did you use DryDex over a wood filler to fill in the wood grain? Is there an advantage to DryDex?

No advantage both work fine! I don’t use my drydex for much else and use my wood fill a ton so I use drydex more often since I need to use it up. Thx for watching!

I didnt film it! It needed a good cleaning and not a full restore. BUT it ended up being from 1950 & the guy that designed queen Elizabeth’s wedding furniture was the maker! 💥

IVE SEEN WORST.... GREAT JOB
LL, People are moving in here also at an alarming rate, but bring all their furniture with them and have too much for condos v. the house they moved from. All furniture is a dime a dozen. The difference is maybe there they are young people there? MY conspiracy theory. Of course you have an extreme talent of knowing your market. I would have NEVER done this, it actually looks bipolar/cool, but it will sell. THIS will get attention and thereby will sell. That record cabinet was outlandishly beautiful, "quiet luxury", somebody got a great bargain.
I will send pics, but graining opposite the real direction of the woodgrain just looks strange and crazy. We agree frog tape is the best so try to mask off then grain, let dry. EASY, you can't go wrong, and fast, just have to wait 2 days for that glaze to dry, THEN go the opposite direction. THEN wait again for topcoat, since glaze is oil based. You will see in the examples. THANKS
