    Ok folks as you know I took the Honda NT1100 DCT out and reviewed it. This is a bonus video showing the standard fit panniers and optional Topbox.
    To make it more intersting I took along Linny as a pillion.

    As always a great review John, good to see a post that includes the pillions thought on ride comfort and importantly getting on & off! Great bike BTW

    Nice Video.
    Good idea to show the panniers and the top box in detail.
    Special thanks to your pillion, who was patient enough to demonstrate details of the seating position. 👍
    Very good information.
    The only problem I had as a non-native speaker (german) was to follow ALL of your words. But I think I got 50%. 😅
    Thank you for this helpful video!

    Thanks for the additional review, very helpful as I've not seen this side of the bike reviewed by anyone else. I also notice you choose the 'cowboy' way of getting on and off the bike although you're, as the name says, lofty in height. Do you do this for a much easier way to get on to the bike or is it out of habit? I'm getting an NT1100 in a few weeks and think i need to practice that way of getting on as I seem to be less nimble in my old age.

    Thanks LB for a very helpful (bonus) review. I’ve watched a lot of reviews of the NT, and the GSA and the new Tiger.
    I keep arriving at a decision that I prefer the NT (although will still test drive all 3).
    It’s just that, after a Goldwing and before that an ElectraGlide and a Rocket III….essentially I haven’t been near a chain drive for decades.
    It’s bothering me a bit that I’m concerned, but what do you think? Not having a shaft drive is the only real negative in my mind (compared to the other options). Thanks, Rich

      The choice is yours, but with modern chains lasting around 30k miles it's not such a deal breaker. For me Seat height and wet weight are more important....then there is cost lol

    • @RMAYALL66
      @RMAYALL66 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@theloftybiker3090 Thanks for your opinion. Yes, cost! NT seems very good value for what you get. I was thinking an older GSA versus a newer NT. Last time I had a chain (Trophy 1200), a Scottoiler seemed fine. I suppose there's always that option. Anyway, thanks and keep up the reviews. Much appreciated

    Thanks for the bonus vid John, I've been searching for vids with pillion opinions on the NT as it's a possible option for our next bike. I do a lot of two up riding with my better half and we're planning on doing the Picos trip next year. Current bike is a Triumph Sprint GT, but I'm starting to find the riding position a bit to heavy on my wrists and neck lately, getting on a bit now 😅👍How are you and Linny finding life with the NT now you've had it a while mate?

    Nice practical addition to the last film. I spoke with a Honda dealer today who told me that if I was to place an order today he thought it would be at least 12 months before there was a chance of delivery due to the numbers he has already sold. Looks like this will be a very popular bike.

      @@philliplum5110 he told me that there are 70 Dealers each who have one on demo, there are 800 bikes for the uk in 2022 including the demos leaving just over 10 bikes per dealer. He has already sold ten so isn’t optimistic of getting any more until next year.

    I saw that before leaving with the lady you made an adjustment on the preset damper and set it to maximum, turning to the right? Can you explain better, I mean I often have ballast when traveling and can this help me since at low speeds it is almost impossible to use the front brake? Thanks, very useful video👍

    • @theloftybiker3090
      @theloftybiker3090  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Adjusting the pre load on the rear shock has the effect of raising the rear to keep the bike level with extra weight.....generally when performing slow manoeuvres it's best to steady the bike on the rear brake....the fronts are much more powerful and for stopping the bike.....
      Thanks for watching

    great video , do you think this bike is a good choice over a tracer 9 gt? or a t120?

    • @theloftybiker3090
      @theloftybiker3090  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do you want to tour? carry a pillion? want DCT........then go NT1100....the Tracer is no good 2 up and doesn't have the kerb weight, but is more fun.....the T120 is not a tourer or really a pillion bike and deffo no more fun.......Ask yourself what will the main use be for 50 weeks of the year not 2 weeks..........For me the NT1100DCT hits the mark on all accounts, but I'm not you 😉

    Nice video. Mine is being delivered this Saturday to be used from the 1st March. I ordered all the extras including quickshifter as I thought there'd be less headbutting from my partner who's a novice pillion. Really looking forward to it. Not even sat on one yet so I'm hoping I made the right choice swapping my 2017 AT in.
