Thank you for being realistic on tank size. Of course bigger is better but there are a lot of gatekeepers in the hobby who will call you a monster for not having like 1000 gallons per puffer 😅 ok I exaggerate but we all know what I mean! I'm debating on what puffer species to get for a new 40g breeder in the near future.

Oh yes! And they don't seem to mind at all. They're always up for some food.

Hi Austin! This is a GREAT VIDEO. Lots of info. And your puffers are adorable - the ship is really cool too.
Came back to watch it again!

They love that ship. It's fun to watch them weave through it too.

Great video! “For better results have them in groups….” Yeah i tried that and my one guy killed all 3 of the other ones. He’s so aggressive i can’t keep him with anything. I think it depends because lots of studies I’ve read shows that they are VERY territorial. Also please put an emphasis on having them in brackish water. They should never be in fresh water. Even if they can survive it’s not healthy and they won’t live long

Puffers can be quite territorial indeed. Thus why when keeping multiple of them I give them a bigger tank than most might think they need and plenty of decor to try and break the aquarum into parts. Then again fish can also have different personalities, like us sometimes.
As for the brackish part, yes. Green spotted puffer MOST DEFINITLEY need brackish water once they enter the adult stages of their lives or they lives shorten greatly.

If you grow those golden locks out again, I'll get a couple. The ball is in your court 😂

What size are they after a year and a half?

Mine are all around 4 inches currently. Growth spurts have definitely slowed down, however.

What would you recommend as far as a female to male ratio?

    • @FintasticFreaks

I tried for a 1:2 ratio but 1:3 is better if obtainable.

      Is that 1 male to 2 or 3 females?@@FintasticFreaks

I’m on the market for some green spotted puffers and have watched multiple videos and yours has been as informative as I’ve seen so that is greatly appreciated. Could you possibly do a video on your cleaning process as far as what you do with the fish while you’re cleaning and how you adjust the water leaves after cleaning the tank and reintroducing the little guys after cleaning is completed?
