You can form lanfang starting as sambas using support rebel cb. Occupying 1 Provence building mercs and charging the ming capital. Then take the single Provence & ducats to find your expansion. You’ll be pretty gold heavy economy early game. Takes about 8 years if ming had a bad start which is pretty common

I'm doing a Lanfang playthrough right now. I'm staying Confucian though. The bonuses for Harmonisation and the different religions in the area is worth it. I'm also converting all lands to Hakka culture and playing tall.

Lanfang is my #1 Favorite country in the ENTIRE game. I've made several personal mods for use with it. Not the least of which is simply being able to form it earlier without any annoying china exploits!

Would it be possible to get Emperor of China missions when u form malaya by cultue converting back to chinese while clicking the event? or was that "mechanic" removed? otherwise it might be a cool angle. great vid as always bro
I think EoC missions are now restricted to specific nations, so unfortunately it wouldn't work.
Oddly enough I am doing a Lubeck game and the mana generation is bonkers.. remember strengthen government.. your badass 6,6,6 ruler can counter your republican tradition issues.. Then you can get your reform progress to max out at +100%
Tbh, Lanfang doesn't even need to strengthen government. Events give plenty of RT. But as for other republics, I think it's even possible to calculate how much mil mana you need to spend, and how much reelections till your ruler is worth RT

Why not take all you can from Brunei as Ming so you can take it in the Independence war?
Maybe I'm wrong, but you need to occupy fort to take any land. So I would need to move Ming's capital to Brunei, and then most likely it would at least try to defend it, and not just chill in mainland China.
@@CoolBonobo isn't it fort in the area you're taking land from and with your allies the other chinese guys you released surely they'd occupy atleast one fort in mainland anyways just make sure you start the independence war for control of the peace treaty
You could also delete all their armies and forts before swapping to make sure ming can't win against your allies
