4:30 - you're forgetting the combinations that allow for multiple ways of getting three 6s and two 5s. The 3 6s can be arranged in (5 choose 3) = 10 different ways, so there are 10 ways to roll three 6s and two 5s. Compare that with six ways to roll a yacht and you see that a yacht is only 60% as likely.

Yacht Dice is actually a very high skill game. It's like poker where it looks like it's all randomness, but there's a reason that the world series of poker is the same 10 guys every time.
I do love this game! Played a ton of it on Mario's Game Gallery in MS-DOS back in the day.

it might not look like it but this is 2 videos in 1
Three fives and two sixes is less likely than a yacht of any kind Im pretty sure. Its 1/6 chance, five times because for three fives and two sixes you need 5 exact rolls. While for a yacht of any kind the first die doesnt matter and you only have 1/6 4 times to match the first die.
This math might be wrong, but that would be my easy interpretation.
Edit: Turns out Im wrong. There are 10 ways to roll a specific fullhouse in a single throw (66655, 66565, 66556, and so on) but only 6 ways to roll any yahtzee. There are 7776 total throw combinations. That means that the chance for the perfect fullhouse is 10/7776 while that for any yahtzee is 6/7776.

If anyone likes Yahtzee but wants a game with a bit more "control", I'd try out Spicy Dice. Pretty fun, lots of replayability, and their form of "Yahtzee!" is very POG.

If you think Yahtzee is a game of 100% luck you're sorely mistaken my friend. There's a lot more strategy here than you're giving it credit for!
There's a very well defined optimal strategy which you can learn in about 10 minutes. If you stick to it then it's just 100% luck.
@@UngodlyFreak That's cap. If you can learn the strategy in about 10 minutes then it isn't 100% optimal.
For example, did you know that, under the rules of Yacht (the one in clubhouse games), after your very first roll, it's better to keep one 5 than one 6? That's a very specific example that occurs in numerous possible situations. I doubt that 10 minutes can tell you _all_ of the weird cases.
