Good explanation, thanks for clearing up that part about him going into stand block before he goes into whiff animation. That helps explain some things for me. I love using fast strings against Jins who rely on random parries. Basically it's a really strong tool when you know exactly what you're trying to parry, but it's not good to use randomly or in place of blocking. Also the special mid thing is annoying. I'm pretty sure you're referring to one of my gripes with the game's wording. Used to be all special mids could be low parried because the only special mids were crouch jabs pretty sure, then Tekken 7 introduced these 2D moves that are also called special mids, that can be blocked standing or ducking like the other special mids yet they can't be low parried. So it's easier to categorize them like this: Crouch jabs (Jin CAN'T parry but can low parry) Special moves (Jin can parry but CAN'T low parry)

Excellent look on the special mid facts, I had no idea how they worked in previous games and now I see why the 2D characters have moves that are different. Super interesting! Over time I'm going to study more parries/reversals and such so I can have a thorough understanding of all of them.

Apparently Jin can parry Asuka's ki-charge tackle. Screwed me up a few times with those

Apparently Asuka's tackle will have punch property when it has ki charge. I think I've seen a Feng punch parry the tackle, not sure tho

Dude that's why we have frame data. The moves he can't parry are faster than the parry.
speed is not a determining factor
They are faster than parry's recovery* you can input multiple parries in some cases.
5th season update: jin's new ability: super parry- he can parry everything now
