I read online that Peter Jackson got the crew together and decorated Ian McKellen trailer with pictures taken during production of the The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
I’m glad that Jim Carrey didn’t quit making How the Grinch Stole Christmas. He did a great job in it.

I knew Shelly Duval would be number one. As much as I love the shining so much, it’s so unfortunate that a majority of her performance isn’t acting. I truly feel bad for her 😭
As sad as it is to say its part of why I think the film is so effective to me. She seems genuinely scared in every scene towards the end. Pretty insane to think critics at the time scrutinized her for her performance.
Unfortunately, Ms Duvall has severe mental health issues today. A "Dr Phil" interview has been ripped (by "iilluminaughtii") for exploiting her illness.
Wait a minute they didn't like the way Jessica Alba was crying for the emotional scene I thought that's what you'd want though if it's an emotional scene you want it to be as real and authentic as possible. What were they thinking CGI-ing tears in what?

Poor Jim Carrey. An 8 hour makeup process sounds like absolute torture! Not to mention having to go through the removal process after a LONG day of work. God knows how much sleep he got having to be there early to do the makeup again so the shooting schedule could be followed accordingly. And I could imagine getting covered in Yak hair could become highly uncomfortable and tedious 😖

The only movies that I've seen from this list are How The Grinch Stole Christmas with Jim Carrey and The Shining. I'm glad that Jim Carrey didn't walk away from that film he was hilarious as the Grinch. With Shelley Duvall she did great playing Jack Nicholson's wife in The Shining but at the same time I sympathize for her that it took them a lot of takes with that really intense scene.

There are quite a few actresses in that list that I'm stunned are not locked up. Some directors should be kicked into the middle of next week !! Excellent list, but hurts the heart, in some cases.

I'm glad Daisy Ridley didn't quit Star Wars, because I can't think of some well-known actress who could play Rey like Daisy can.
Pretty much any actress could’ve done that role as well or better. Emma Stone, Emilia Clark, Michelle Rodriguez…seriously anyone. She was mostly just ok.
To all bosses, managers, or whatever else take a mental note treaty every employee with respect and I never knew that all these actors and actress almost left there careers behind that shows some real guts or took a lot money to keep them on or a simple conversation about what they should do keep them happy

Michael Keaton as Batman was amazing
People these days think that there’s literally nothing good in the Star Wars sequels, but while they do have flaws, they’re not irredeemable. I thought Daisy did very well as Rey, and so did Adam as Kylo. Even though they’re not Oscar worthy, they could’ve always been worse

There is so much more about what Alfred Hitchcock did to Tippi Hedren. He was so in love with her and she didn't feel the same way, so he put her through the ringer with the birds. He was punishing her for not loving him the way he wanted. At that time he wasn't even sleeping in the same bedroom as his wife. Years after Hitchcock's death Tippi forgave him for his behavior.
Also love Michelle Rodriguez. Glad she stood up for the character. Mia and Brian was a much better romance and Letty and Dom are couple goalz.

There's More to the story of 1963 (The Birds) Tippi Hedren. Alfred Hitchcock made a pass at her and she said No and it ticked him off so he used Live Birds and made her Repeat it over and over. She went to the Doctors with all the Bird Bites and put her out of work for a couple of weeks. There's more but I'd be here for a hour or so telling you.

Kate Winslet in Titanic. During filming, she got pneumonia from staying in the 3000 gallon tank for too long and to top it up, James Cameron was being really hard on the cast and crew. She nearly quit but Cameron persuaded her to stay.
James Cameron is known for being hard on actors. The entire movie the Abyss was a mess that nearly made the actors all quit.

The Jim Carrey Grinch movie was fun for me as a kid
I even have the You’re A Mean One Mr Grinch song from the movie downloaded.
From what I understand I think anyone with common sense would run as far away from any role in star wars as possible. Apart from Daisy, there was Harrison Ford who wanted to be killed off in New hope and only agreed to return in force awakens if they killed him off then Alec Guinness the original Obi Wan Kenobi who was so hostile to fans that would even mention his role in star wars he hated it that much, Ewen Mcgregor equally hated his role, the actors who played c3po and R2D2 hated their experiences (as well as each other) and most of the actors who played Vader left hating their experience, the original actor was annoyed because his voice was dubbed with James Earl Jones, and then finally when he was unmasked in return of the jedi he was replaced altogether with someone else. Then the kid in phantom menace nearly committed suicide and quit acting altogether due to his experience in star wars, and the older anakin in the attack of the clones and revenge of the sith was also unhappy. Then chancellor velorum played by Terence stamp only agreed to do the role because he wanted to meet Natalie Portman and was annoyed when he was never able to. My apologies I can't remember the names of all actors concerned but so many people suffered im surprised there was a empire strikes back let alone all the others that followed.
Fun fact about Alfred Hitchcock: he actually abused the actress (who ends up doing an interview(s) about the process and trauma) and taunted her with birds due to her refusal to be intimate with him...
Hitchcock the more I hear about him the more horrible a person he seemed to be behind the scenes. The guy had issues and not small ones it seems. Maybe its a blessing he has been gone for so long now. I for one can never look at his movies the same way again after hearing all the horrible stuff he did to women on set.
He was horrible. He did this to Tippi because he was in love with her and she didn't return his affection. He was also married at the time. He was a visionary, but not a good man.

It’s well known that Keaton hated the stiffness of the batsuit. But it gave him such a signature look and identity that when he came back in The Flash, he refused to let the costume designers improve the suit. They said they would make it less stiff but he told them no.

The Jungle Book (2016) had Idris Elba nearly quitting because Neel Sethi was so rude to him.
That explains why Idris Elba’s portrayal of Shere Khan is a complete monster in the reboot rather than in the original!

The Star Wars one would make everyone happier if she had quitted and taken with her this whole new trilogy. Hard to find three movies as boring as those.
I would’ve quit when the director told me they would use mechanical birds and instead used live ones. That was a deliberate lie and their punishment would be finding another actor.

I've heard Fincher is like that too. Heard he made Jake Gyllenhal damn near cry on Zodiac set and made Brad Pitt do over 40 takes in Se7en of simply throwing down a file folder in a car.

I did watch the making of Zodiac and Fincher, using topogrphy maps from the time period, etc brought in spefic species of trees that were in a park area and had them planted in exact area to change the area into 1970s. They splashed in a hint of CGI too but that's nuts.
In Kubrick's defense, the only actors who are ever forced to take their roles star in snuff films.

Perhaps one reason the Robin Hood movie got "skewered by critics" is that we don't need a "revisionist" version of the story. There's only the basic story. A man comes home from war to find his family have been wiped out and his land taken by the government, so he gathers a group to stop this and reinstate the rightful king and government. No revision needed. If you want to update it, just do a new story instead of trying to tie it to an existing one.
I am STILL pissed that they didn't use accurate ACCENTS in "Interview"! Antonio Banderas was the Only one who was Believable!!

Stanley Kubrick had an unhealthy obsession with trying to get the perfect shot, so he would often push certain actors over the edge, and do a ridiculous number of takes just to get that perfect shot. He didn't care how it affected the actors working for him.
While Stanley Kubrick was great at making films, his directing techniques were borderline inhumane.
