Since discovering Thomas about a year ago it's been a very interesting experience to reassess my own gear and sound, to try his approaches. And at my 50th year of playing the instrument, my thing is pretty well fossilized at this point. But there's always more to learn. The process never ends, we finish when we die and not one second before. Some of his thing I may retain, some I won't. We're all different. It's truly amazing how so many players can sound so different with the same guitar. And Thomas Blug's sound is truly a thing to behold. Astonishingly good tones! And some truly wonderful music!

A fantastic player indeed with a great unique tone and playing style! I learned already so much from him and will continue to do so. Cheers! Thanks for watching!

Very interesting video with a different view into the live studio!
Terrible stages for single coils, ...the locomotive in Ibbenbüren directly on the railroad line. There I saw Thomas Blug live for the first time and was totally flashed by his sound....

I had a 61 Strat back in the 70's. I wonder if he has it now?

Great sound, incredible player, but I highly doubt, that the filth on the guitar has a tone enhancing quality to it. It is just simply disgusting.

Probably not, who knows? But hey if the player thinks it sounds better he will play better. So there is some value to anything as long as it inspires the player to be more free. I’m sure some player don’t care about any specs or dirt and sound just as good with maybe even a squier guitar. Just some food for thought.
