For those asking about greasing the bearings, dont. It can cause the bearing to fail early. They are designed to be lubricated from the gear oil. You can put some gear oil on the bearing after installing it if it makes you feel better, but it isn't needed. Once you re- assemble everything and add the gear oil to the differential housing, the wheel bearings will get coated at that time.
Nice. I'm reviewing this before I do the same to mine. I'm a bit surprised you don't put any grease or gear oil on the bearing when you install it. Not sure how the oil gets from the dif to the bearing. Is it just the spinning of the axle? Excellent, thank you!
Nice video for replacing rear wheel bearing but ounce you replace the one side do you just pull the otherside off also to change the bearing the same way.
Could you put the tool kit number? The exact bearing puller you used. I did my seal and 1mnth later leaking again. Gonna do both seal and bearing this time
what’s the part that the caliper bolts go through and holds the caliper. it also gets the backplate bolted onto it with the small bolts. it has the 4 bolts
How do you know u need bearings and a axle I have a popping when I take off and reverse but stops after a few seconds but my drivers side tire has tire wear on the inside

I always put a thin film of clear silicone on the outside of the seal to prevent any leaks. Never had any seals leak by doing that. Cheap insurance.

I assume it is no different for the right rear passenger side as well, correct?

I have a 2004 Durango does it gave wheel bearing on both sides of the rear wheels
+@gerardopedroza Yes, your vehicle should include wheel bearings on each rear wheel.
I hate the way gear oil smells
That is complicated. It's good to know what you're paying for.
Golden information
