    Very detailed video! Actually showing how C-clips are held in...I am keeping it for when I do the bearings/seals replacement. Thx for posting it!

    Just incase someone watching this doesn't know DO NOT let your calipers hang by the brake line like you see in the video unless you want to replace the line

      . you probably know this already but if you don't.... brake lines are strong since they under a considerable amount of pressure doing that once may not do much but doing it multiple times will put stress on the line right where it goes into the metal fitting amd they will pop your brakes work on a hydraulic system which means the whole system relies on high pressure to work properly if that seal is broke anywhere in the system the whole thing will lose pressure and fail which could be catastrophic and potentially lethally if it happens while youre driving you dont want to take any chances with it

      @@Autoenginecheck Its not as much the line cannot hole the weight it is how it hangs , look at how to kinks the line or folds it over this can damage the line and cause premature failure. It might not leak today Some might say if it does leak then it needed to be replaced. I have seen new lines get bumped the swinging weight was enough to cause the line to fail. This is especially the case on older cars, if you cannot get the line quickly this can mean the vehicle is down for several days waiting for a part. a piece of strong wire bent into an s shaped hanger best to have 4 in your box. or use zip ties. I like the wire hangers.

      Hackerville. This is why I prefer to do as much repair with as I can. You just never know what these people are doing. Might not cause an immediate leak, but could cause a premature failure at some point.

    After you remove the axles in the rear diff should you put the pin back in to keep the small gears on the top and bottom from falling out? I’ve seen them fall out in a few other videos and everyone says they are a pain to get back in

    • @Autoenginecheck
      @Autoenginecheck  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is not good to re-apply after opening the axle lock or the small gear may go off later Although it can be attached later, it is better to keep the pin attached thanks FOR comment sir

      @@WildwindGamingMore I did this job a couple weeks ago I ended up holding the gears while I popped the c clips out and then I put the pin back in while I was working on it. Everything worked out great no problems

  • @spacecoastkid5033

    So you used a dirty piece of rebar shoved through the differential to the opposite side to use to get the bearing and seal removed instead of buying the proper tool. Definitely don't use this shop! 😮

    if you dont lightly greese the bearing it will be dry too long till fluid gets to it

    I replaced mine but never messed with the differential. I don’t seee why you would need to even touch that

      Not sure the type of rear you were working on, but this is a Chrysler 9.25" which uses internal C clips to secure the axles. If you look closely at 11:30 you can see the clips going back in.
