Just followed your tutorial - thank you. It was super-easy and so quick to make a beautiful scarf. A pleasant change to enjoy frogging rather than be swearing at dropped stitches as well😂
Thank you for these instructions ❤…I have to admit the dropped stitches gave me anxiety at first because they have been the bane of my existence ever since I began using a knitting machine ..but this was so satisfying and your video was so helpful and I just love the results! The first one I made I followed your instructions exactly down to the number of rows, but I found 100 rows was too short for my personal preference…so I made the 2nd one with 160 rows and I just love it!
I happened upon your tutorial and I loved it. I’m on Holiday right now but when I get home I will be making this scarf. You are a blessing for sharing. Thank you.
The extra contrast of waste yarn is genius!! I love this method and it certainly makes a big difference when finishing the ends. Super easy instructions and a beautiful scarf. Thank you!
You are a master at instructions that are easy to follow and watching the video I made my first drop stitch infinity scarf and it is fabulous . I’m over the moon. Thank you so very much
I love this scarf. Personally I would not gather the stitches at the end so I can do a straight edge join twisting the scarf once to make a true moebius (infinity) scarf. When I was a teacher my pupils had enormous fun making a moebious with wide paper, twisting once before joining the ends and then cutting it along the centre and tried to work out why their circle was getting narrower but longer and longer! That yarn you used is wonderful. I love the colour. I will have a look to see if I can buy some.
This is amazing! I’ve looked at these scarves on FB - but passed the videos up because I thought they’d take forever to frog. Now I’ve simply got to try making one! I think they would make excellent gifts! Thanks for the video! 👍
Thank you so very much! This is absolutely magical! I’m even more excited to get my Addi knitting machine now and try this with my handspun Angora yarn!
thanks to your video i was able to make a neat looking scarf. i also discovered that if you put your hand inside and work backwards the stitches drop rather quickly. thanks for the video.
best video! But when I go to remove waste yarn at times it is all clogged up and does not come off easily from the non scrap yarn like yours. I am following exactly. Any ideas?
Thanks for this great video. Is there a way to keep the ends flat rather than sinched? I've seen other videos that show how to do this with tubes but not tubes that have been drop stitched.
Hi Laurelin👋 really helpful tutorial as I've not used a knitting machine before, only crocheted items. You also have lovely yarns in your shop and I will be ordering again soon as I love ombre style! 👍💜
Love Y tutorial and lovely accent! I just wanted to point out that you don’t have to use waste yarn at all if you pull the cast on tail when you rising your work, just pull it tightly and you won’t unravel your work when you let the stitches from above dropped. Also, I love the yarn and colour choice :)
I am super new to making items with my Addi. Do you ever get complaints about your items not lasting because it's knitted? Do you have a video I could watch about how to care for your knitted items? Thank you! Your videos are amazing =)
LOVELY TUTORIAL. ❤️ Is it possible to have the dropped stitches stop at a certain point though, instead of it being distressed to the very end. How would we have it distressed at only certain areas within the garment ?
I think if you took another piece of yarn and weaved it through one entire row (like having a cast on row in the middle of the project), then you could frog up to that point and leave the rest intact. You'd just have to find an appropriate way to secure and weave in the securing yarn that was added.
Im having trouble finding that first "hidden" stitch when picking up stitches just before waste yarn removal. Any tips? I try to line it up as closely as I can with you on the screen but my knits are much looser than yours for some reason so mine arent as easy to distinguish as yours are - and yes I used 2 different colors of waste yarn
So pretty! Have you ever tried dropping every 3rd or 4th stitch, to make an even lacier infinity scarf (like for a lightweight summer scarf)? Just wondered how well that worked. And how much shorter the initial rounds should be, to account for the additional length from the frogging? I have an Addi King ordered and have been watching bunches of videos. So excited to try this!
@@SnufflebeanYarn oops, I meant picking up every 3rd to 4th, with additional dropped stitches in between. Tracking says my new machine is nearly here. So excited to try the pattern from your video!
I hate the term frogging. I call it unpicking or, in the case of this scarf, unravelling. I believe the term came from the sound of a frog i.e. ribbit being similar to rip it! Strange!
bonjour, je viens de faire cette écharpe .Je n'ai pas trop de soucis sauf quand j'arrive en bas, il y a des mailles perdues et ca se détricote. Je ne sais pas d'où ca vient .
The way you cast on with these machines means that when you’ve unravelled every other stitch it leaves the cast on insecure and it’ll just unravel the other way. That’s why you need the waste yarn so you can secure your stitches
* My mistake! Well dear, I got to casting off and forgot to only pick up every other needle! 🤪 So will try to figure it out. Unless you have a solution for my error. Your tutorial was excellent.
Roving yarns are yarns that aren’t spun, they have loose fibres and this makes them sort of “sticky” which means undoing them can be tough. Lion Brand Landscapes, Red Heart Unforgettable and Cygnet Boho Spirit are examples of roving yarn.

My grandmother made these scarves on 4 double pointed needles. I still make them this way, but this video has me considering a knitting machine.

Same for me...I actually gasped when she started pulling 😂
Mine was 147 rows as I just used up the last of that colour and it was around comfortably 3 times x
Wow, who’d have thought dropping stitches could look sooooooo good
Such a dramatic result. Was nervous the first time but I’ve made 4/5 of these now and I love them. So easy and beautiful. Thank you 🤗🧶
Ive just made my first one. Its EPIC!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for such a great tutorial x
Wow, I love how using that one row of waste yarn makes it so easy to take the rest of the waste yarn off. Thank you. I will try it.
I happened upon your tutorial and I loved it. I’m on Holiday right now but when I get home I will be making this scarf. You are a blessing for sharing. Thank you.
Happy holidays! 😀🧶

Thank you for this tutorial. Was able to finish 1 project today and very happy with it. It was my first time to do an infinity scarf with drop stitch.
I watched this tutorial and made the scarf. Super chuffed with the result. Thank you ❤️
Wow that's BEAUTIFUL! I can't wait to try this! I'm just beginning but this is on my learn to make list! Just stunning!!! ❤
Amazing! Makes me wonder what else can be made with this technique!!

Love the two waste yarn technique. Much easier. Thank you
The yarn is gorgeous.
using waste yarn makes sense to me now thank you for sharing this with us ❤😊
Great idea on the two different color waste yarns.
Thank you! Can’t wait to make this beautiful scarf!
Just finished mine! It’s perfect on my first try!!! Thank you!
Thanks for the video. The tip about using 2 colours of waste yarn is brilliant. Looking forward to making at least one scarf.

I'm going to be making myself a ton of these for work! I am a teacher so this will be needed.
I’d love to see what you make! 🥳
@@SnufflebeanYarn I'll make sure you do!

Thank you for the tutorial and the close up views.

I really enjoyed your video
Love this I've just finished making one. I loved the pulling part.
Love this. Thank you. I’ve now subscribed to your channel. From Quebec Canada
🥰🥰
Very nice. Thanks for the demo. Any possibility of a matching beanie. would be great for bad hair days in the spring/summer
I’m not sure how the dropped stitches would work in a beanie 🤔 I’ll have a think
I would just do a plain beanie in the same yarn to match x
Interesting. Seems like that would make a snood.

For me it did unravel when I did it that way which is why I use waste yarn but I’m glad if it doesn’t for you 😀
It just came apart for me too

LOVELY TUTORIAL. ❤️ Is it possible to have the dropped stitches stop at a certain point though, instead of it being distressed to the very end. How would we have it distressed at only certain areas within the garment ?
It would be incredibly difficult to acheive, maybe with separate tubes sewn together, some dropped and some not?

You could pop a stitch marker on that particular stitch before you cast off so you can easily spot it 🙂

You’re welcome! 🥳
Beautiful
Thank you! 🥰
Your welcome I been looking for different ways to use my addi
Could you do this with a blanket but instead of every other drop every 4th for an airryier blanket?
You could try?
Спасибо❤
Can this drop stitch technique be used to make a panel scarf instead of a tube scarf?
You could give it a go and see! I haven’t personally tried it so can’t say for definite
Lovely tutorial! Do u think this can be done on a flat panel .
In honesty I’m not sure, but you could always try :)
Thank you 😊
You're welcome 😊
Mind blown!!!!🤯🤯🤯❤❤❤
Are you going to give it a go?
Absolutely!!! I have a ton of ombre yarn to use up!! So excited!!!
@@anjnajadavia2789 🥳🥳🥳
Amazing! Will do one of these ❤❤❤❤
Could this be made on an addi 22 pin machine too with the same row count?
Yes but it would be a very skinny scarf.
Thank you sooooo much❤
Do you know how to stop the drop stitch halfway through the garment?
Pick up all the stitches you dropped and secure them at the point you want to stop.
What’s ‘froging’ mean? I’ve never heard that before. Very good video. Thank you
Frogging means to rip the stitches back, basically to undo them :)
I hate the term frogging. I call it unpicking or, in the case of this scarf, unravelling. I believe the term came from the sound of a frog i.e. ribbit being similar to rip it! Strange!

Wouldn't the cast on thread still hold everything? I guess I don't understand why the waste yarn.

Great video. May i ask how much yarn you used, ie 100g
Less than 100g, possibly 75? I didn’t meausre

Can this be done with a flat panel?
I haven’t tried but I’m not sure how well it would work
Great video
The best
Is possible to make this into a coverup?
Garments aren’t really my strong point so I honestly have no idea.
Im new at this, what’s a roving yarn?

❤❤❤❤ok
What yarn are you using?
Papatya batik dk
WoW! Thx
It’s a pleasure! 🥰
How many stitches are there?
The machine has 48 needles
What is frogging stitches?
Sorry, it means to rip them back, basically undo them.
Pulling out the stitches is called frogging because you rip-it-rip-it. 🐸 Learned that in my crochet groups. ☺️
how can you do this without a machine?
I’m not sure as I’ve only every made these on a machine :)
On a loom you just knit every other peg. On needles 🤷♀️ I don't know..
I liket
What the heck is frogged?
It’s a knitting term that means to rip back stitches - to undo them.
Because you rip-it rip-it 😂
