My makeup applies perfectly over the top. If they ever stop making it I don't know what I'll do it beats every other sunscreen hands down

The canmake spf has been my favorite since I saw your earlier review of it! I love me a foam cleanser so I did like the Hada Labo HA Foaming Cleanser, but I've since switched to Curel Foaming Wash as I find it more hydrating.
I've tried two of the products mentioned in this video. Canmake did reformulate the Mermaid Skin, upping the amount of titanium dioxide, and it leaves me with a slight white cast. But even if it didn't, there's no way I'd repurchase such a tiny bottle, despite how cheap it is in Japan. Was gorgeous under makeup, tho. The Hada Labo Gokujyun Super Hyaluronic Acid Cleanser in the tube is my HG. No matter how many other cleansers I try, I keep coming back to it, boring as it is. The packaging says, and I've found to be true, that you can occasionally forget to do the rest of your routine because it leaves the skin so well-hydrated. It's also dirt cheap. I've never used the foaming bottle version.
Would you be able to recommend sunscreens for super oily skin (for people living in hot humid climates)? I’ve tried Canmake (was really greasy by the end of the day) and Isntree Sun Gel (less shiny but still got greasy by the end of the day). Although the texture and application is awesomely lightweight when I put it on, the grease and shine is still a bit too much.
Try missha aqua sun gel it dries super matt in humid climate It does have denatured alcohol and fragrance .this is in a tube version white tube and blue colour font. Also missha soft finish sun block the one which is 70 ml with pink cap. It dries semi matt in humid climate.. They have many so difficult to differentiate with them..

@@LabMuffinBeautyScience Thank you for bringing attention to the importance of applying sunscreen. I've never ever bothered to apply sunscreen in the past but now, even when I'm working from home, I apply them too because I'm seated near the window and sunlight shines in. Thank you science nerd 😂
Me living under a rock because I just started ordering Asian skin care from Yesstyle this year lol. Heck I just started regular cleansing last year. I’ve come so far and still more to learn.
that nivea sunscreen is my holy grail. I'm broke so I usually don't have the luxury of buying good sunscreens, the ones I tried before were thick super uncomfortable on my oily skin and I couldn't really use them in a generous amount, and often skipped. The nivea one is quite affordable (it's still expensive to me but in comparison to the other ones it's affordable) and very very comfortable on skin. This has been the only sunscreen that I've used everryday consistently, I use it all year round, even in humid summer times and it has been a really great experience.
The only thing I’ve tried is the Canmake Sunscreen. It’s great but I hate that the bottle is so small. I’d love to know what some of your favorite cleansers are.
I love the hada labo cleansing foam. I understand what you're saying though. It's a boring, straightforward product. Honestly, I don't really mind it on a cleansing product.
Agreed. It's dull af technically speaking, smells like a cleanser and is just a simple foam, but I have no complaints about that when it works so well.

I don't know, I feel like you two wouldn't get along... It doesn't give me significant eye sting but for once I didn't do the "smush right in my eyes" test, and I don't think I've tried it on a sweaty day so maybe it needs to be dethroned 😬 Eep
I have been using the iUNIK - Calendula Complete Cleansing Oil since July 2020 - not every day as I use a mixture of cleansers. Great at getting makeup off, no nasty smell.
Love from india.🇮🇳 I love your channel soo soo much.. Isntree watery sun gel one is my absolute favorite.. But people out there on internet fear mongering about the fig fruit extract and olive oil.. 🙄
I’ve had the iUnik cleanser and now have the Purito From Green, which I like better considering the smell. iUnik’s was too medicinal tea like :) And Purito smells more like grassy stuff. Both work the same and get your eyes cloudy 😐
I love the Canmake Mermaid. I'm in the U.S. and we are so limited on UV filters. Chemical sunscreens smell so bad in the U.S. canmake mermaid doesn't smell and is a hybrid. It works right away and goes on like a gel.
I purchased the Hado Labo cleanser, only because my husband is really sensitive to scents, but I might go try something with a scent again if I find something I like.
Shhh!! Don’t tell everyone about the Canmake sunscreen! I discovered it last year and it’s the only skincare product I’ve ever considered a “holy grail”. I cannot be without it.
is the Nivea UV super water gel spf 50 protective enough? i love the texture and how it’s so easy to apply, but as a regular tretinoin user who lives in a sunny state, i’m worried its not enough:(
I've been using the iUnik oil for a couple of years, and I've never know of it to go rancid over time. Funny that you mentioned not having any fragrance because it included Ylang Ylang oil which I can definitely smell. For oils, this has been the best that I've tried, but I've kind of moved on to balms. Loving the new Naturium balm.
I love the consistency of the Canmake, but it broke me out. It surprised me because not very many products break me out (and I don’t use a lot of products anyway), so it was extra disappointing :( I stick to Hada Labo everything bc I’m basic and lazy 😂

While I do agree that the hada labo cleanser can get a little boring to use, it's the only cleanser that doesn't dry out my face. That's why it's my holy grail cleanser.
May I ask you : I read that asian sunscreens don't protect as well as european ones as asians typically already protect their skin a lot with hats and long sleeve shirts. Is this true ?
Yes. They avoid sun generally, unlike Europeans, US, and Australians etc. They don't lie out with sunscreen .. they don't lie out at all. Swimming, not done during the day outdoors so much. They do use a lot of coverings - hats, visors, hand coverings when riding bicycles etc. They simply do not sun worship. They prize light unfreckled (hence 'whitening' products in every line which are supposed to remove any freckles) skin above any other look. They don't want to appear 'bronzed' as it is not perceived as beautiful. They don]t fake bake because the sun burned look is avoided in any form. They simply avoid sun exposure like the plague as the first form of protection rather than do what European etc do which is go out in strong sun a lot with bare skin and either seek a tan or just try to get around it with only sunscreen. Source - lived in Japan and Singapore, in the latter in places with a shared swimming pool attached to our living arrangements. You never once saw the locals use those pools during the day, only at night. You're not suposed to use sunscreens in pools in Asia anyway, as they will end up in the water. So you use the pool at night when you're not going to risk your unprotected skin.
Dude I totally agree with the Hada Labo cleanser, it was fine at first but after a few bottles it got boring fast. It's fine though just want to try something else 😆
I found the canmake mermaid pills upon reapplication on my skin. That was disappointing as a religious re-applier…loved the initial texture and look but can’t deal with the pilling. I did not have this problem with the Isntree watery sun gel (haven’t tried the one with the cast)!
I use Kose softymo speedy oil cleanser and it's been open for a long time, it smells a bit nasty. Is it still safe to use it if it's gone rancid? Or would I be damaging my skin?
Isntree watery sun gel is my HG. I like Canmake when I’m doing a full face of makeup and Biore for outdoor summer running. ETA: I’m excited to try the new BoJ that just came out too!
I’ve tried the Hada Labo foaming cleanser in this video and my main dislike about it is the chemical-y smell. I used it a few times and then never touched it again.
indonesian local skincare brands (somethinc, etc) have been om the rise lately, i wish you can review it :( but yeah i understand it will be hard to get your hands on them unless the brands send their products to you
Yes it’s been very difficult! Apart from the products I picked up at JakartaXBeauty, I haven’t been able to try many 🥲 I’ve been trying to get a refill of a Rollover Reaction puff since mid 2020…
Heya - I'd love to hear your opinion on Eskinol - its the number one cleanser in the Philippines and I've used it all my life but reckon it might not necessarily be the best. However its the staple for most Filipinos.
A lot of Eskinol products are astringents from what I can recall. They do clean your skin but they end up being too stripping and will damage your skin barrier in the long run. I don't get why they're still so popular apart from them being cheap compared to a lot of actually good cleansers on the market.
@@ジャスティン-o4z yeah I absolutely agree. I grew up using it and only started using it less and less recently. And noticed that my skin wasnt necessarily getting worse as a result. I think its still used because as you said, its cheap and accessible and also, it sort of gives that feeling of "clean" after walking in the humidity and pollution all day. I remember how satisfying it felt after a day riding in the jeepney all day.
Japanese sunscreens are my favs, especially the ones without alcohol or has alcohol at the bottom of the list...but they are so small. I reapply sunscreen at least 4x a day even if I'm not going out and my first application is double layer.
I bought an UV mirror and NIVEA Japan UV Super Water Gel SPF50 PA+++ failed the UV test terribly, there is NO UV factor at all. I'm so disappointed as it's one of my 2 favourite UV gel for the last few years. Luckily Biore UV essence passed the test.
Update - the last Nivea bottle had most probably expired. Few days ago a friend gifted me a bottle bought from Japan. I tested it with my UV mirror, it has the SPF factor. But I do have to put on at least 3 layers to have the SPF. I only need one layer with Biore UV essence.
@@cherryblossom3868 I was wondering if it's the reason why my hyperpigmentation has getting worse even though I had put on Nivea UV gel religiously daily. I love the texture and it was my favorite for a long time :(
It could be, but I think it's more likely to be the filters in it, any special encapsulation, or perhaps some soothing ingredients. I don't think silicones would do too much differently compared to the other common lipids in sunscreens...
@@LabMuffinBeautyScience Thank you for such a quick response! Maybe there is an encapsulation because others with the same filters are burning and irritating. It's frustrating cause with dark skin mineral sunscreens are the worst. I have spent so much money trying to find one that doesn't leave a cast.
0:58 “…the whitening one purposely makes your skin a little whiter, which is quite popular in Asia” Well, THAT’S the understatement of the year. When I lived in Vietnam, EVERYTHING was whitening - even deodorant! To get non-whitening products, you have to go to a store that serves Western expats or make sure you get something non-whitening in duty free. And if you haven’t left the country in a while and the expat stores have nothing good in stock, sometimes your pasty, Scottish-descent a** ends up using whitening body wash, against your own wishes. I would also buy baby lotion to avoid whitening. Smdh.
Only a very light one, but it doesn’t remove makeup very well so I would recommend following up with a second cleanser unless your skin was bare to begin with.
If there is one thing I absolutely adore and envy about Japan, is their effective and lightweight sunscreens.
@@littleblackpistol So this is correct to say that european sunscreens have better filters than the asian ones ?
I agree with your impression of the Hado Labo cleanser. Joyless, no fun--makes me think of a siper-giant amoeba.
Thank you for all of the awesome information!
Dude I totally agree with the Hada Labo cleanser, it was fine at first but after a few bottles it got boring fast. It's fine though just want to try something else 😆
I love the Nivea one!
Is there a cruelty free alternative to the Nivea water gel? X
I've been interested in buying the frudia sunscreen but I'm not sure
I found the canmake mermaid pills upon reapplication on my skin. That was disappointing as a religious re-applier…loved the initial texture and look but can’t deal with the pilling. I did not have this problem with the Isntree watery sun gel (haven’t tried the one with the cast)!
I use Kose softymo speedy oil cleanser and it's been open for a long time, it smells a bit nasty. Is it still safe to use it if it's gone rancid? Or would I be damaging my skin?
Does snail cream work?
Can u make a video about sunscreen with water soluble uv filters?
Isntree watery sun gel is my HG. I like Canmake when I’m doing a full face of makeup and Biore for outdoor summer running.
ETA: I’m excited to try the new BoJ that just came out too!
So are these sunscreens as good as Australian sunscreens?
Hii... Sunscreens with homosalate and octixonate are good or bad...??
I’ve tried the Hada Labo foaming cleanser in this video and my main dislike about it is the chemical-y smell. I used it a few times and then never touched it again.
Your hair and skin look great
wow so many good products! I love Japanese egf and egf serum. Can you use them and copper peptides with tretinoin in the Same routine?
If it smells bad, toss it out. Ain't nothing good going on in that bottle that you want on your face
@@tonixtonix what smells bad?
indonesian local skincare brands (somethinc, etc) have been om the rise lately, i wish you can review it :( but yeah i understand it will be hard to get your hands on them unless the brands send their products to you
Yes it’s been very difficult! Apart from the products I picked up at JakartaXBeauty, I haven’t been able to try many 🥲 I’ve been trying to get a refill of a Rollover Reaction puff since mid 2020…
I have very very oily skin. I tried the canmake it makes my skin unfortunately super duper greasy. I had such high hopes😩
What's the Pao?
Plzzz Can you review sunscreen from Indian brands ..i have few good recommendations like the dermaco. , Minimalist , fixderma , re-equil , aqualogica
Japanese sunscreens are my favs, especially the ones without alcohol or has alcohol at the bottom of the list...but they are so small. I reapply sunscreen at least 4x a day even if I'm not going out and my first application is double layer.
Funny- I love sunscreens with alcohol, because they aren’t dry down so nicely.
@@ambergerhelper7852 i like skin aqua and Isehan mommy. Both doesn't have alcohol. Alcohol dries out my skin. Korean isntree is amazing too.
I thought canmake failed the test. At least you mentioned it in one of your previous videos. Maybe they changed for good
Nope, they just reformulated so I took it off the list because I hadn’t tried the new formula yet.
I wonder if she'll go over with what is happening with Clinique
@@wendytsui0 omg that really makes me sad. I usually use the 1/4 teaspoon amount and hoped it'd be alright :'(
@@cherryblossom3868 I was wondering if it's the reason why my hyperpigmentation has getting worse even though I had put on Nivea UV gel religiously daily. I love the texture and it was my favorite for a long time :(
Why does the supergoop unseen sunscreen not burn my skin and eyes but other chemical sunscreens do? Is it because it is silicone based?
It could be, but I think it's more likely to be the filters in it, any special encapsulation, or perhaps some soothing ingredients. I don't think silicones would do too much differently compared to the other common lipids in sunscreens...
@@LabMuffinBeautyScience Thank you for such a quick response! Maybe there is an encapsulation because others with the same filters are burning and irritating. It's frustrating cause with dark skin mineral sunscreens are the worst. I have spent so much money trying to find one that doesn't leave a cast.
the canmake sunscreen unfortunately pills on my skin😭
Hi lovely Michelle, please do review hada labo gokujyun pore cleansing face wash🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for the video
It is a German brand, but I believe that product is designed and sold only in Japan, for high standards from Japanese people for cosmetics
Isntree have released another hyaluronic acid sunscreen with zinc oxide this time
0:58 “…the whitening one purposely makes your skin a little whiter, which is quite popular in Asia”
Well, THAT’S the understatement of the year.
Smdh.
Die Edelweiss-Creme mildert meine Falten und regeneriert meine Haut, eine echte Wohltat.
You know, it would be really cool if you tried to do a makeup tutorial once
Just wanted to share how "Biore" is correctly pronounced in Japan and some other Asian countries. It's called Be-Oh-Ray, not Bi-Oh-Ray :)
😩😩😩
@@LabMuffinBeautyScience Pls don't get me wrong. It's so cute tho whatever you said :)
Does the iunik cleansing oil leave a residue on the skin?
Only a very light one, but it doesn’t remove makeup very well so I would recommend following up with a second cleanser unless your skin was bare to begin with.
I have combo skin and live in tropical country, the canmake and nivea which i both tried are almost perfect for me but gave me ccs 🥲
Ugh that’s the worst! Finding sunscreens that don’t give me CCs is such a mission 🥲
Can skin of colour use isntree watery gel sunscreen... Is chemical sunscreen safe of soc
Yes!
