Joe Kelly’s punishment for almost hitting someone was worse than the Astros punishment for stealing a World Series
Ironically, Kelly was on the red sox in 2017 when the atros won. Why you say? Because the sox were found not just guilty of the same, but found guilty TWICE. Can't pick and choose who to hate lol

Why "stealing" signs is supposedly illegal is a mystery to me. Like, when I see the third base coach signalling to the hitter I'm supposed to look the other way and not try to figure out what he's signalling? Should I also not notice when the pitcher has a slightly delivery set-up for a fastball versus a slider?
Paul Evans , stealing signs, the conventional way, is legal.
What the Astros did was used technology, ie: cameras, to steal signs, which is totally illegal.

You're right they should punish the Astros more, but you also have to punish guys throwing at batter's heads. That could become a matter of life and death, much more important than the integrity of the game, even if the dudes are assholes. He could kill someone.

MLB could have stripped the series title, banned the coaches from baseball rather than rely on the teams to do their dirty work, taken away more draft picks, cut into their international signing allowance. And again, the players shouldn't have been given immunity. Doing so essentially guaranteed there would be no real penalties, no incentive for other teams not to try something like this in the future. No suspensions+not taking the title away means the team got away with it. You think there isn't a team out there that would trade a few million bucks, a couple draft picks, and having to fire their coach if it meant getting a World Series title?

Ordinarily I would agree with you. The problem is Joe Kelly was on the 2018 Red Sox when Cora was managing them and went to a world series win. His team cheated as much as the Astro's did in the 2017 series (unless you want to buy the idea that Cora turned over a new leaf when he went from the Astros to the Red Sox). Any other pitcher on that team, you might be able to justify some chin music. Not Joe Kelly. He's as big a cheat as the Astros, and everybody on the Red Sox team in 2018 (including everybody's favorite Mookie Bett's) is a cheat as well. Suffice it to say, pitchers that live in glass dugouts should not throw wild pitches.

Because the manner in which the Red Sox cheated was nowhere near as egregious as the astros and it wasn’t relayed to batter in real time via trash cans or what have you. Kelly is also a pitcher so stealing signs wouldn’t have benefited him anyways. He was also on the Sox the year the astros won it and lost to them in the playoffs when the astros were in full cheat mode

If Manfred would have done his job and suspended or expelled a lot of the Astros, none of this would be happening. He protected them, and now the rest of the league wants to give the Astros a little street justice.

If the Commissioner had punished the Astros properly, Kelly would not have done what he did. To make up for that, he should reduce the suspension to 1 game.
Stop saying this is equivalent to a 21 game suspension. He’s only going to wind up missing 2 or 3 games that he would have otherwise pitched in.
Don't want people to go headhunting on the Astros? Maybe if they actually got suspended, there wouldn't be heads to hunt. I typically hate it when a player gets targeted, but the Astros ruined the careers of several pitchers by stealing signs, I wouldn't feel bad at all if a headhunter ended one of their careers. MLB is basically saying by their actions that the cheating is ok as long as you don't get caught until after you win. Joe Kelly is the people's hero for this.

I'm 100% for throwing at Astros players who were on the team in 2017, but I am also 100% against threatening people's lives over a game (by throwing at their heads). They need to penalize anyone who throws intentionally near someone's head. But they also need to punish anyone who cheats, and they didn't do that
