I have to disagree. I still don't see the chemistry everyone keeps talking about. All I see is that they are really comfortable with each other and don't get me wrong, they are great when acting goofy and showing the base of their relationship: friendship. But I don't see the romantic chemistry at all. And I'm not hating on the ship here. I really wanted them together in the first two seasons and I'm continuing to look for the chemistry everyone is talking about. I want to like the ship but I don't see the romantic chemistry anywhere. All I see is comfort and friendship.

This Barry & Iris from seasons 1-5 are NOT the Barry & Iris from seasons 6,7,8. Its like the actors are just tolerating each other. No kissing, no just "I love being around you" touches, no cuddling and laughing on the couch. Maybe they don't like being on camera together anymore, which I could understand because they have been at this awhile, but then just end the show and make space for new tv show couples for us to watch over and over on TH-cam.
I agree somewhat. I definitely miss this WA! But, it’s on the writers not the actors. You must realize that if the scenes don’t have cuddling, kisses, and affection written in them then the actors can’t portray that!

In case you didn't know, Grant Gustin is a very happily married man who just became a new dad..on screen romance is strictly "G" rated for the network and the millions of parents who allow their kids to watch the show.
Married or not he signed a contract to perform what they write. If he or his wife has a problem he should go somewhere else. He knew it would be like this when he chose the profession. Of course there are children watching so I could go with that reason but not the other one.

Writers write the scripts that the show's executives approve of and the actors are willing to perform. Its not just about their signed contracts. The Entertainment Business is worldwide and when you have the attention of that kind of audience, you have to be careful how your actors are portrayed and what affects that might have on younger viewers. Just a thought..

She also told Eddie that Barry had feelings for her (and she had feelings for him too) and he punched Barry.
She only dated him because sge found out they're married in the future. And overalls she was mean to him for all of season 1
But she's changed now and they are a good couple so it doesn't matter anymore

Correction! If you recall it was Barry taking Iris for granted since she was already in a relationship with Eddie Thawn. It wasn't until FLASHPOINT, that Iris realised her true feelings for Barry, the boy she grew up with who was becoming a man and who was going through this transformation as a new superhero called the scarlet speedster/ FLASH. Their friendship was becoming much more and Barry was all for pursuing his relationship with his childhood best friend and now new love interest. They have both made it clear that being together was their happiness goal. And therefore they deserve to pursue their happiness in a committed relationship and take it as far as their love will last..
