  • To build a budget-friendly gaming PC, consider purchasing a used Dell Vostro or Optiplex, which are often available at low prices. Then, you can enhance the system by adding a GPU, PSU, case fans, a decent hard drive, and an adapter. With these additions, you can create a gaming PC for approximately $500, with some flexibility in the final cost.

    Would using a new GPU with a old CPU downgrade GPU performance

    • @bricktronics
      @bricktronics  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it would create a bottleneck where the cpu basically wouldn't be able to push the gpu to its full potential. In that situation you may see cpu usage higher than gpu in games.

    How many 3.5" drives could be added to this Dell Vostro?

      @Alex-fe2vv I think there were 3 sata ports on that motherboard.....I would do sata ssd hard drives to save space.

      @@bricktronics thank you. I was wondering if I could turn one of these into a NAS. Might be doable but would require some modifications.

      @Alex-fe2vv yeah I wouldn't use this for a nas. I'd use a old dell workstation....I have one in my attic with dual xeon processors and like 8 gigs of ram, lol. It's plenty for a server.
