couldn't you have used the dell 365 watt power supply for this build? this GPu only draws 115 watts. I think they recommended it so high because it's a modern gpu and modern CPU's use a lot more power than the 8th gen i5 so its taking into account the total power consumption
Yes, the Dell 364W PSU should work, and it should have 6-pin PCIe or 8-pin PCIe power, but I didn't have it while recording this video. The original Dell 365W power supply is a bit pricey, and If I order from Amazon or eBay, I need to pay extra shipping costs, so I decided to use the PSU that I already have. Also, the 24-pin to 8-pin ATX main power adapter works perfectly on a Dell desktop PC.
@@itggear3400 Yeah the dell 365w has an 8-pin. I was reading a lot of reddit threads and such because i couldn't find a third party power supply unit that would work for my computer. The fan always ends up facing the bottom where it doesn't have air flow. (inspiron 3670 with i-5 8400) Thinking i was limited to 120W TDP from a GPU, I found that the rtx 4060 only draws 115W and then found your video. This was a really well edited video. I actully love the AI voice. It's the same as a guy that used to do voice overs for documentaries back in the day. I would love to see what the inspiron would do with the RTX 4060 and a 9th gen i7 (yes MOBO is compatible up to 9th gen but maybe not the i9 9th gen) Also the RTX 3050 6GB is a great option for amatuer gamers like myself that don't game often but want to be able to play modern games. and it removes the headache of finding "proprietary" power supply units. The lack of a need for external power is nice too. I Imagine the RTX 3050 would pair well with the i5-8400. Im just stuck between getting the 4060 and the 3050 6GB.
Which cable? Could you specify? Also, Dell has a few 3670 product lines, such as the Dell Inspiron 3670 and Dell Vostro 3670, so which one are you referring to?
Also, the Amazon link I put in the video description is for the Amazon US store. If you click the link outside the US, Amazon will convert the link to your local Amazon store, which may not be the same product link as the US one and is generated by a product name search instead.

what psu you use?
It's FSP 500W power supply. Thank you.
@@itggear3400500W should be more than enough, 4060 is quite efficient
how is it running now after a month of using and does the 24pin adapter suffer any issues?
I've been using the cable adapter for many years and I install 500W power supply with RTX 2070 super. The PC work fine without any problem. thank you.
Will this work with any PSU or do you need to use a specific size of PSU?
For Dell Inspiron and Vostro (excluding Optiplex) with Intel 8th and 9th gen processors, a standard ATX PSU size is used. Thank you.
why the AI voice?
Because I'm not a English native speaker, I think AI voice is good for video documentary. thank you for watching.
El mismo cable me sale incompatible para la 3670, el mismo cable que muestras en el link sabes por que?
