    Always good fun catching flatfish, they have saved many a day for me! Many years ago i lived in the Tromsø region and had lots of flatties both from shore and boat. many dabs veighted 2ibs pluss, my biggest was about 2ibs 10oz

      Hi Benjamin, yes the circle hook and hair are the best way to fish for flatfish and other fish. I very rarely deep hook a fish anymore. If you need some info on the rigs they're in my playlist in how to's. Thanks, Fish on Brother👍😁

    Ah you love too see it! I went fishing today in cullenstown mouth estuary in co Wexford and was using fresh lug and mackerel but caught 0 fish again 5-6th time out during winter and not been able to catch anything only the wind 😅🙈

I must start saving the pennies up to come over I have not got my beach rods out this winter not worth it only pin whitting a few very small DABS no codling. Watching you catching like that is good maybe we will have better fishing again soon. will start targeting Ray in a few weeks time. Tight lines brother.

      Thanks Andrew, as it goes it wasn't really a fjord it was a body of water between 3 Islands help by the sea. The fishing in Norway is usually more productive at the entrance to fjords and around islands at the coast. Or fjords open to the sea. Thanks brother fish on 👍😁

    Great video mate it's nice to see the other side of Norway, l love every aspect of fishing weather it's big fish fishing or scaling down to LRFin!     Hi billy you ok mate. Wow what a cracking session you had there billy. Them dabs was spot on ,like you said they usualy between 20 25 cm up here in grimsby when i catch them. I fished the humber on wednesday. My friend to the left blanked my cousin to the right blanked i was in the middle and managed 3 flounders all about 30cm. So i waz smiling.       Hi Simon, and thank you. The truth is you, don't need a guide in Norway. the fishing is best out by the sea. And the mouth of fjords, all You need is a bit of water in front of you. study the bottom with your charts and that's all the info you really need. Fish on brother 👍😁

      Hi Alan, sounds great, But I'm sure if it's flatfish ground. Very deep water, try and find somewhere that has water between 20, 30m and is reasonably flat, not steep. The fjords out towards the sea are usually more productive. Fishing on brother👍😁

      I'm near a town called Ulteinvik on the island to the south west. The peri in the vid is close to there and it's name is Kvalsund. Fish on 👍😁

I fished a couple of places 'the other side of the bay' last summer, when i fished my way up and down the Norwegian coast for 3 months 🙂 Had some amusing fishing under the bridge near the other Kvalsund, further north, 28 Lyr in 30 casts - on fly, all 1kg or bigger 🙂

      @@Billyfishing_watch I think the process you use to make your frozen blow lug concentrates the scent.
      As you say.
      Taking the water out of the worms is key.
      Gutting them removes to much I feel.

      I think so, also the fish find the worms in a state of decay after a day or two rolling around the seafloor after a storm. So the frozen lugworm are closer to what they're used 👍

    So from what I can see, a plaice and a dab are similar to a flounder here in Australia?? Also, what brand are those reels mate?? I've never seen those sort before down here.

      Hi Shane, I'm not sure. Is it a peacock flounder you have, or is like the American flounder. The American flounder is another type of halibut. So the make of real is Penn and the model is is torque 100. it is what we call multiplayer in Europe. and in the US and other countries they call it a conventional casting real.       Ok, I understand. In the place I was fishing in the video, there is only sand there. So no need for a weak link or rotten bottom. If you search on TH-cam rotten bottom rig, some videos on how to fish in rocks will come up. Thanks Brother 👍😁

      I will try and explain how this works. You take a piece of fishing line, weaker than the line from the reel. Then you tie that to the end of the rig. When you have done that you then tie the weaker line to the sinker. When the fish swims between the rocks and the singer gets stuck the line will snap and you can pull the Fish free.

      Hi Philip I can't really recommend any mid-price rods or any high-end rods right now because I haven't got any rides younger than 6 years from the European market right now but if you would like some from the Asian market I would gladly help out.

      Ok bud. bring fishing line, Hooks, swivels, split rings they are very expensive in Norway. But lures and stuff like that and so expensive, just about the same. You can't buy bait, except frozen fish. In the supermarkets, but it's not hard to catch anyway. Have fun, its a wonderful country. Thanks Brother 👍😁
