I threw a Syngonium in the compost a friday night due to thrips, and ran out on saturday morning to bring it back in. That is my kind of plantparenting 😅 Love your videos, and I can’t wait for more Poison Ivy-style videos!!! That was real artwork! 😍
It didn’t survive the winter move. I got a bout of spider mites in several plants right after and the makoyana didn’t make it. Just bought another one though. I love them.
@@SoiledPlant Sorry to hear that. I love them, too, and have found (and have been hearing) that they're one of the easier calatheas, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed with mine. Good to hear it wasn't lack of humidity or something along those lines that killed it ;)
RIP to all the plants. I try to tell myself that it’s okay because I can find a plant again with a lot of mine as well so I feel better about myself. It happens it’s part of owning plants!
Good thing there are more and more groups for trading plants. It's the ideal situation for getting rid of those plants we're guilted into keeping and finding better homes for them.
That’s why I’m a dog person. 😃 My dog don’t chew on plants or pee in the plants soil. 🤪 I do ok with Calathea, I let them go on the almost dry an then water. Hope you’ll give them another try sometime. 😃
No, dogs just pee on the floor lol. If I keep plants relatively away from the cats, they leave them alone. At this point, if they get to them, it’s my own fault (all the times she got into the WF were 100% because I thought she couldn’t easily access it).
Some plants are just finicky than others and sometimes we can just do so much for them. OMG when you said your cat ate it and then your cat ate it again and I was like it will eat it again 🤣 I'm just glad your cat is alright. I killed a lot of my plants in my care too and most of it is by over watering but now it's because of under watering 😳

Thanks for the poison Ivy love :) It was definitely a choice 🤣
@@SoiledPlant In my opinion a very good choice! Artistic, inspiring and filled with my kind of humor! 😄😍😍
I killed a golden pothos, a janet craig and a dieffenbachia this year.
Matched 2 of 3! I feel your pain :)
Moving to Michigan? That was your first mistake. I live in Michigan also
Michigan is fantastic. Love it so far! 🧤
What happened to the Makoyana?

I’d put it in the more hearty Calathea category. I think they’re much easier than many “easier” calatheas.
@@SoiledPlant That's great to hear. I think they're just stunning.

So far, that’s been the case for my plants. I’m definitely improving though. I can tell :)
I've kept my Dieffenbachia alive it looks nothing like the plant I bought, I regret the purchase but it's alive so I can't just throw it away XD
I run into the same problem. It’s hard to tell myself to throw something out when it has a small will to live yet.

I overwatered a lot in the beginning of caring for my plants. Lately, it’s bugs or under-watering one too many times.
Are you Canadian? I notice you use amazon.ca links.
I am not. 😬 I’ll have to fix my links!
