Here this video is 12 years old and ABSOLUTELY saved me today from spending $140+ on a new switch panel - AWESOME video, thank you for taking the time to make it!! People like you make a real difference in the world and the rest of us appreciate it!!
I just wanted to also express my thanks for your video post. My 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee switches were a bit different, but I applied the same cleaning concepts and the windows work great. Saved nearly $250 for a new master switch set. Thank you.
I have a `04 Sebring not a jeep but same general idea applies, after watching your video I did the cleaning and saved like $60 on a new master switch. My switch was Mopar (not Eaton) but still the insides looked very similar. Problem solved! Thanks
Hi Mate, thanks for the video, I had a similar problem with my 1995 XJ and after watching your video my windows and central locking works again. Cheers!!👍🏼
Thanks to your video I was able to get the windows on my recently bought early '97 XJ back in working order. I did have to open up the switch a few more times for some fine tuning of the copper springs inside before they worked flawlessly again. Kudos!
I'm having the same problem with my Jeep and am now eager to dig into my switches. I already bought an ebay motor for the drivers side and will be Ok with eating the cost of it if it's just my switches. Good video. Thanks.
When they didn't work were they making any noise when attempting to open/close the window? I just recently got a 96 XJ and the master switch does not work, and neither do the switches for each door. This video really helped and this is probably the first thing I'll try, thanks!
The driver side panel in my '95 Cherokee works for all the windows, the rear driver window switch works as well. But neither of my passenger side windows will work from their switch. Checked wires and it looks okay. Could the window lock switch be partially broken and only cutting power to the passenger side?
Could be motor...place meter at motor and move switch..you should see voltage across motor when switch pressed....voltage should reverse when switch is moved in other direction
Thanks for sharing! My right rear window doesn't work from neither its switch, nor the driver's switch. Is it possible to just work the driver's switch and have both working again?
Hi, I have a 96 xj with widows not working or just randomly working. Then when they do want to work its a slow grind up or down. Is the grinding another problem or are the two related? Thanks
Sometimes the grinding is due to hardened weather beaten/sun baked rubber. I lube mine periodically with some light household oil or WD40 etc. and have noticed improvement. Also make sure the rubber isn't working against the window (in the way). Seems simple enough but, I didn't consider the above until someone mentioned it to me so, I thought I'd mention it here in case it helps someone.
