Mr. Burns: Oh, yes. But I'd trade it all for a little more.

Honestly, I've never been so bored and intrigued by a film at the same time. From the random doorbell bomb at the beginning then Bogarde's glassware, the bomber pilot sketch that goes nowhere to the weird Arab beach landing at the end. Also, I guess Fothergill is still out there.... somewhere.

The Simpsons quote I always want (and fail) to deploy in everyday conversation is from the Mr Sparkle episode. "There's your answer, Fishbulb." There are so many opportunities to say "there's your answer" to someone, but if I could only remember to add "Fishbulb" to that, it would really sort out the wheat from the chaff.

the best part about Anton Chigurh is that he isn't just an evil man. An evil man would flip the coin and kill the guy no matter what. The only time Anton shows any emotion is when he flips the coin and doesn't have to kill the guy. He is genuinely happy. That makes him even more scary, because of his twisted sense of morality

Spider Pig, Mr. Plow, those songs pop up in my head with alarming frequency. Also the many variations of Marge saying " Homer " depending upon the situation. We named our first English Springer Spaniel 'Homer ' because he was literally the fattest, roundest, pudgiest puppy that spent most of his time sitting in the food dish, eating.

Not sure if the 40s girl on the postcard over Craig's shoulder is Deanna Durbin, but one of her films would provide subjects for fruitful commentary. Depression-era escapism - One Hundred Men and a Girl. Comedy - It Started with Eve. Goin' West musical - Can't Help Singing. Screwball comedy with an operatic duet - Something in the Wind.

Joseph Losey was a great director and not totally humorless, but not someone you would associate with lighthearted capers. Same with Harold Pinter and Dirk Bogarde. Monica V. seems "heavy" for this kind of role, or maybe she's just struggling with English. If only Quentin Tarantino had made it -- MB obviously inspired some of his films. Maybe he'll make a Modesty film, someday. Terence Stamp is beautiful.
