No lie, I like how all the comic readers let all of us new fans know. "Just wait! It's gonna get worse!" And after watching the first season I'm like how?! I'm so torn on reading ahead with the comics but I really enjoyed going in blind as a new fan and just watching it all unfold. I mean I can't wait for next seasons but if they're all as well made as this first season they can take their time! I haven't been this into a superhero show since young justice.
This was definitely the hardest to watch scene for me. Showing multiple innocent civilians being torn to shreds is just messed up. Superhero media tends to never show the effects of fights and bystander deaths.

Yo real talk, the train scene might be one of the best scenes in terms of impact and power in an animated cartoon in history. The visceral reality of using marks power to kill thousands if not tens of thousands of people in the matter of mere minutes is goddamned insane and impressive....insane, but impressive!
Someone pointed out that one of the people killed on the train was the guy from the soup kitchen that Amber lends a book to. He’s reading the book before everyone gets killed. All these little details

Omi- Man is much a dark and cruel mirror of what Superman could of been if following General Zod’s plan to restore Krypton. Glad Clark doesn’t have to be that abusive to Jon Jr. That Boy Scout is a much better parent. And would've been a better mentor to Mark.
Came to the same conclusion that thank goodness Kal was found by Ma and PA Kent. They raised him to be human first before he discovered his powers I believe. Otherwise I think you get a Homelander situation where you get a person who knows he's the strongest being on the planet and does whatever he wants for the most part.
Easily missed little detail of the original scene: Partway through the train Omni-Man looks away from what he's doing to Mark, as if he lost the stomach for what he was doing to his son partway through.
I re-watched that part on Amazon after seeing this comment and it looks more like he's looking to the floor of the train before deciding to stomp down on it to cause even more destruction
That whole episode was full of emotions. One second I was screaming, then that baseball scene have me tearing up. This show is top tier superhero content.

Yes it was actually quite shocking to see a Villian that was actually evil. But not evil because he actually has a desire to cause harm, but just because he really sees us as ants, insignificant creatures to be crushed. This is precisely how an alien who lives as long as he lives and is as powerful as he is would likely think. I cant wait to see how they're going to stop him.
Seeing those reactions, now makes me realize that growing up around heavy gang violence fucked me up none of the deaths fazed me and seeing how shelter most of world is. Pray for strength for those who's been through what i have.
The even worse part is that this entire season is just an epilogue to the actual plot. After 30 episodes the sub scene would be just another regular fight.
I feel so bad for Debbie and Mark. Debbie married a monster and the fact that he said that she's a pet and that her life was worthless was sad and heartbreaking. And the fact that despite all of the horrible things that Omni Man has said and done to Mark, Mark STILL loves his father and got him to stop somehow.
Honestly, though, Han Solo was probably viewed by Chewbacca much like a pet considering their lifespans. Also, Vulcans probably view humans a bit that way in Star Trek too.
Considering that Viltrumites live a lot longer than humans, it makes sense. It’s wrong yes, but makes sense too. Think of animals. We love them, but they live a lot less than humans do. Experiencing lots of grief ends up desensitising us too it. Imagine how it must feel for omni man to have lost all his loved ones over and over again.

Can you please tag spoilers like these? I know the comic’s over, but it sucks to be a new fan and get hit with these out of nowhere. Edit: The “spoiler” is the later attempt to redeem Omni-man-or at least, keep him sympathetic. The way Season One concluded, his character could’ve gone either way. I imagined they’d keep him conflicted after showing how his love for Mark overpowered his loyalty to the mission, but I wasn’t sure. Now I know. And this was a reaction vid from a recent episode, not a summary of the full comic, or a theory video. I understand leaving spoilers in those. The even worse part is that this entire season is just an epilogue to the actual plot. After 30 episodes the sub scene would be just another regular fight.

I feel so bad for Debbie and Mark.
Debbie married a monster and the fact that he said that she's a pet and that her life was worthless was sad and heartbreaking.
And the fact that despite all of the horrible things that Omni Man has said and done to Mark, Mark STILL loves his father and got him to stop somehow.
Honestly, though, Han Solo was probably viewed by Chewbacca much like a pet considering their lifespans. Also, Vulcans probably view humans a bit that way in Star Trek too.
Considering that Viltrumites live a lot longer than humans, it makes sense. It’s wrong yes, but makes sense too. Think of animals. We love them, but they live a lot less than humans do. Experiencing lots of grief ends up desensitising us too it. Imagine how it must feel for omni man to have lost all his loved ones over and over again.

Edit: The “spoiler” is the later attempt to redeem Omni-man-or at least, keep him sympathetic. The way Season One concluded, his character could’ve gone either way.
I imagined they’d keep him conflicted after showing how his love for Mark overpowered his loyalty to the mission, but I wasn’t sure.
Now I know.
And this was a reaction vid from a recent episode, not a summary of the full comic, or a theory video. I understand leaving spoilers in those.

If you watch this scene closely, you can pinpoint the exact moment when their relationship got derailed.
It goes to show that just mark weakly flailing his arms around in front of him is enough to tear peoples bodies to shreds shows how powerful they are.

I just watched this episode and just was at a loss for words and started tearing up. I know Mark is a superhero but the kid is 17yrs old and he'll have that moment forever.

I've recommended Invincible to my sister, telling her only that JK Simmons was in it (one of her favourite voice actors) and that it was just a show about son of a superhero training with his dad.
