The pain on Redrush was the most extreme since he perceive time a lot more longer than anybody else bruh. Instead of instant death it was like a torture.
I think it was implied that what we saw, with everything slowed down, was from Red Rush's perspective in that moment. So what he experienced was exactly within the time we as viewers saw. In actuality, his head was crushed in a mere second or two, given that the other guardians only had time to take a single step forward before it happened.

People gloss over how painful Martian's death was. We can see he feels pain when he exerts himself while shapeshifting, and then he literally got torn to pieces by Omni Man.
Red Rush's de@th was depicted from his own POV because he perceives time slower than anyone else. Omni man actually crushed his head in a matter of seconds but in those seconds was like minutes of torture... the fastest member of the team experienced the slowest de@th.

He did a little more than bruise him up a bit I'd say, if you start coughing up blood from trauma to your chest, lung damage is pretty much a guarantee.

Well immortal is probably the strongest. His punches as well as war woman’s mace are the only things that can even do much damage to him. He took out red rush because he was by far the best support and was saving all their asses, and then he just slaughtered the east ones to get them out of the way. And then the only chance was Martian man doing the best he can do hold him down while immortal and war woman do the most damage they can. But even that shit didn’t work. Just too durable. And he caught the phasing chick by suprise. She could’ve been annoying to kill. Since she can just phase through his punches. The most useless were darkwing and aqua fish. Because they aren’t strong enough to do any damage and they have pretty human bodies

The neck break on War-Woman was one of the most impactful death scenes I've seen. There's something about the sound design, the viscerally accurate drawing, and the fluid animation that just makes it feel... real.
Honest to god, it's always "not-wonder woman's" cough of blood at the end that gets me the most. I mean the rest is brutal. But there's just something about knowing *that* was her final moments.
For me personally it was the “oh no” from the green chick. When I heard her say it i felt so bad, she knew she was dead and all because she tried to catch her friend.
The part that got me the most was the Martian’s death, just how quick and easy it was, and seeing the relatively casual way he went about doing it, because when he was done with it that’s when I really realized how f*cked they all were
For me, what makes Nolan a terrifying character are two main things: 1. He aimed to kill them, starting from the strongest until he saw that the speedster was saving the weaker, but also aimed to be hit enough to cover the whole thing up. On his gut punch to Inmortal we can see the difference in speed and strength. They hurt him because he LET them. 2. He did this because Mark obtained powers. His plan was to remain with his family and progressively weaken the planet's defense while not attracting attention. Then remain hidden until his family died, but when Mark obtains powers he realizes that there are two Viltrumites and that he has a "duty" towards Mark in involving him with his heritage. Nolan is playing games throughout the series. It's just a game for him. He has pets and a playground, that's it.
This absolute scene makes me appreciate Batman's "in case the league goes rouge" protocol. Batman new at some point in time anything like this could happen, bruh even he made one for himself.
As he said in Tower of Babel "The league is my just in case" It's why he help make it and was just open enough for them in the start so he could be taken down

I really love when a show/movie cuts the music for fight scenes. Like as soon as this scene started they cut the music, it’s like oh this is REAL SHIT. It’s the little things that add gravity
re-watching this now, I think they did that to show Omni-man's use of hearing. He hears Darkwing above him thanks to his cape. Again with War-woman screaming going in with her punch. I think that's how he caught Red-Rush's punch, besides expecting an attack he just heard it coming.

I'm gonna have to say, same. I've seen actual videos of shotgun suicides, I've seen a guy get run over by a tank, I've seen a man be decapitated, I've seen the aftermath of a drive-by, and so, so much more- yet this single piece of animated media genuinely made me feel uneasy, and I had to go outside for a moment for some fresh air. Idk what it is, but it captures the gruesomeness perfectly.

As someone who read the comic beforehand, I cannot explain the joy I had when I _knew_ what was going to happen as the episode went on normally, and saw the reactions from my family as shit hit the fan.
Invincible is such an interesting experience. It’s so normal at the start, but when red rush is grabbed you get worried because you think “it would be gross if his head was crushed”, then he starts squeezing and you think “oh god he’s doing it”, then you think “they aren’t going to actually show it though, it will just be a cut to the other heros’ reactions”, but when it doesn’t cut, it’s just so startling and surprising

binged watched the entire first season in one night a few nights ago and i knew nothing about this show. when this scene happened, i was shocked out of my damn mind. I had no freaking clue that this would be as gory as it was and holy hell, this whole season was a roller coaster of emotions
see...it wasn't just the brutality of it....the sound design team deserves a lot of credit for this scene. I felt all of the hits. everybody has the least amount of reaction to the last death bc it was quick and just done. everything else had crazy noises.
My thoughts during the first episode: 1. Not bad but doesn't knock me off my feet. 2. Actually very cool. 3. WTF. 4. It's kind of sad because I liked the heros and they where really good people. 5. Nevertheless, the fight scene is incredibly well done (no music, etc., super animated). 6. If Superman ever gets like this, everyone is finished.
I imagine this to be the last scene of the boys. That would be awesome. And you gotta admit. Its so well done. The build up, the surprise, the "execution" !

I think it was implied that what we saw, with everything slowed down, was from Red Rush's perspective in that moment. So what he experienced was exactly within the time we as viewers saw. In actuality, his head was crushed in a mere second or two, given that the other guardians only had time to take a single step forward before it happened.

He took out red rush because he was by far the best support and was saving all their asses, and then he just slaughtered the east ones to get them out of the way. And then the only chance was Martian man doing the best he can do hold him down while immortal and war woman do the most damage they can. But even that shit didn’t work. Just too durable. And he caught the phasing chick by suprise. She could’ve been annoying to kill. Since she can just phase through his punches. The most useless were darkwing and aqua fish. Because they aren’t strong enough to do any damage and they have pretty human bodies

The neck break on War-Woman was one of the most impactful death scenes I've seen. There's something about the sound design, the viscerally accurate drawing, and the fluid animation that just makes it feel... real.

For me, what makes Nolan a terrifying character are two main things:
1. He aimed to kill them, starting from the strongest until he saw that the speedster was saving the weaker, but also aimed to be hit enough to cover the whole thing up. On his gut punch to Inmortal we can see the difference in speed and strength. They hurt him because he LET them.
2. He did this because Mark obtained powers. His plan was to remain with his family and progressively weaken the planet's defense while not attracting attention. Then remain hidden until his family died, but when Mark obtains powers he realizes that there are two Viltrumites and that he has a "duty" towards Mark in involving him with his heritage.
Nolan is playing games throughout the series. It's just a game for him. He has pets and a playground, that's it.
This absolute scene makes me appreciate Batman's "in case the league goes rouge" protocol. Batman new at some point in time anything like this could happen, bruh even he made one for himself.

This scene is like the only time I've felt physically ill at animated gore, and I've seen quite a bit in my time. Castlevania, Berserk, Devilman Crybaby come to mind and none of them made me squirm like this. I don't seek out gory shows either, so maybe I'm just not as desensitized as most

Invincible is such an interesting experience. It’s so normal at the start, but when red rush is grabbed you get worried because you think “it would be gross if his head was crushed”, then he starts squeezing and you think “oh god he’s doing it”, then you think “they aren’t going to actually show it though, it will just be a cut to the other heros’ reactions”, but when it doesn’t cut, it’s just so startling and surprising

binged watched the entire first season in one night a few nights ago and i knew nothing about this show. when this scene happened, i was shocked out of my damn mind. I had no freaking clue that this would be as gory as it was and holy hell, this whole season was a roller coaster of emotions

see...it wasn't just the brutality of it....the sound design team deserves a lot of credit for this scene. I felt all of the hits. everybody has the least amount of reaction to the last death bc it was quick and just done. everything else had crazy noises.
My thoughts during the first episode:
1. Not bad but doesn't knock me off my feet.
2. Actually very cool.
3. WTF.
4. It's kind of sad because I liked the heros and they where really good people.
5. Nevertheless, the fight scene is incredibly well done (no music, etc., super animated).
6. If Superman ever gets like this, everyone is finished.
