I love the dialogue in this whole seen but does the line "Dad?" Hit anyone else real hard. Like damn the voice acting is impeccable, the broken heart, half dead half crying. He was just looking for his dad in that moment. Took a word and expanded it into an entire moment. Beautiful and heartbreaking stuff.

He likely has many more injuries that his brain didn't quite process until after his hospitalization, as he is in multiple casts and likely required a blood transfusion due to blood loss. Mark feels like a combination of Superman and Spider-Man. No matter how many hits he takes, he'll get up over and over again. He'll fight to the bitter end, simply because it's the right thing to do.
He is very similar to Peter Parker, high school student who knows a redheaded girl, gets superpowers and does the responsible stuff with his great power. Heck they even had a crossover once in comics where Spider-Man and invincible had a conversation
I believe that was the whole point. It's a mixture of it being a happy, dark, emotional and heartfelt. It's almost identical to the comics, which I highly recommend it's almost perfect and faithful to the source material and I finished the books.

Everyone fails to realize how great of a love Omni man has for Mark....Remember OMNI MAN has lived thousands of years in the most brutal totalitarian regime known to the universe...he has conquered planet after planet and yet in ONLY 17 years with mark and Debbie he was able to overcome THOUSANDS of years of conditioning and reject his mission...People miss the sheer will this took. Yup. That's what happens when you watch a show throught the lens of a human. For us, what Nolan did is the worst massacre event in History, and he is unforgivable no matter what. For us, he's cold, heartless and cruel. For him and the Viltrumites? That was normal, just means to an end. What is that end? Making the Earth a "better" place by taking control of it. Killing humans for them is like stepping on ants. It's not like they were gonna live long anyways.

That line was what got me into the show. That hit me so freaking hard I felt that the writing would be top class. I wasn't disappointed. Though there were questionable bouts of how durable a character should be versus how durable we saw them to be a few times. Mark's durability especially seems to come and go for the sake of plot development.
Mark is almost indestructible against blunt force. But throughout the series he gets hit with different Kind of object. Battle beast ripped him open with a sharp and blunt object. It's kinda consistent
What's beautiful about this is that Invincible comics end with: "What would you have after 500 years?" Mark realizes he has so much that he didn't even know he wanted but the only thing he doesn't have is his dad. Cause Nolan dies 3 issues before the end.
It's interesting to think of how Omni-Man was practicing the speech to Mark for hours, maybe days after killing the Guardians, but even during the fight he's trying to convince HIMSELF as much as he is his son.
This is what happens when you'll be blinded by an Empire ideals since birth. The way Omni-Man takes of tells the viewer a lot if you remember how he taught Mark how to fly. "We don't need to push ourselves from the ground or pivot around, we can move through space freely"

No, Omni-Man is not touching at all. It's established that Omni-Man is a psychopath already. But the fact that Mark still loved his father after everything that happened was what broke Omni-Man in the first place. That's what's touching. Because we know Mark would never be able to defeat Omni-Man head-on, so he had to find another way to get through to him. And get through he did. In this end, when you really think about it, Mark won, because he managed to stop his father from enslaving Earth.

SPOILERS: Omni Man regretted everything he did, especially when he killed the Guardians because they were his friends which is why he ended the fight quickly so that they wouldn't suffer (except for Red Rush since the pain felt hours for him instead of seconds). Mark still loves his dad and forgave him after they met again. Nolan actually conquered another planet peacefully without any conflict and he fought against other Viltrumites to protect the planet and its people. He's not a psychopath. He's just influenced by the Viltrumite teaching since he was a baby until his family taught him humanity. Although his actions will never be forgiven, he earned his redemption by helping everyone in the universe. He died a hero in the end and appointed Mark as the new Emperor of the Viltrumites.

I know that Omni-Man cared deep down and maybe that he can be redeemed, but I still find it scary that we as a society see that and think he cared (which is true and it's an amazing way to win) and that while we understand what he did is wrong, we don't think as much to understand why it's wrong. We see the abusive tendencies and even when it's right in front of us, we'll still think he cared, and that's the mindset that keeps people in an abusive relationship. I'm not trying to say that he's a psychopath (that he can't feel emotions), but he is a sociopath (he can turn them off). I know he made the fights (and the deaths) quick, but he still slaughtered them and lives by the rules of a fascist planet (or government). The problem isn't that he doesn't care, I know he does. The problem I have is that I feel people are overlooking just have manipulative and abusive he was doing what he did, and that at the time of doing this he was working from a fascist mindset (that he and his people are superior, and while in the context of the show coming to this conclusionmakes sense, it still is a horrible and terrifying mindset to have because of the damage it does). I know he peacefully took over another planet (I think that's the one where he had Mark's step bro), but my problem isn't with the the lack of peacefulness, it's with the fact he took it over. My problem isn't that he isn't remorseful, my problem is that he still went along with it. When people "just follow orders" other people end up suffering, and that's the problem I have. Not gonna lie I noticed the show poster on a straming site but never watched at first, the constant memes from Twitter, youtube and facebook brought me to the show and I'm so grateful, yes I felt very sad for many characters but I still loved every single episode

None of the other reactions to this line pulled my empathy strings like this one did. This was the only one that actually caused a tear to leave my eyes. It wasn’t even the scene he was reacting to. It was his reaction.
Everyone fails to realize how great of a love Omni man has for Mark....Remember OMNI MAN has lived thousands of years in the most brutal totalitarian regime known to the universe...he has conquered planet after planet and yet in ONLY 17 years with mark and Debbie he was able to overcome THOUSANDS of years of conditioning and reject his mission...People miss the sheer will this took. Humans live only 80 years...and can't overcome bad habits like smoking, drinking, cussing, cheating, lying, and stealing...but OMNI man over came THOUSANDS of years of brutal conditioning in only 17 years because of the love he felt for MARK!!!!!! People miss this!!!!
Yup. That's what happens when you watch a show throught the lens of a human. For us, what Nolan did is the worst massacre event in History, and he is unforgivable no matter what. For us, he's cold, heartless and cruel. For him and the Viltrumites? That was normal, just means to an end. What is that end? Making the Earth a "better" place by taking control of it. Killing humans for them is like stepping on ants. It's not like they were gonna live long anyways.

Bruh, I know people hate Omni-man and find his actions Unredeemable, and if I’m being honest I agree. He’s still my favorite character in this show, so far. You can’t deny that since the beginning that Omni-man was the star of this show.
Yeah I’m really excited to see the rest of his arch play out on TV. In the comics he has one hell of a run with a lot of growth and development.
Personally I feel like Omni-man was the runner-up Mark was the true star. Everything else you said though I fully agree with. Amazing show, can't wait for season 2.

@@stro6124 agreed. The show wouldn't completely spoil everything. They threw in some different content and changed some arcs, and even though ik about the guardian massacre and the finale, I wasn't ready for "the way" it happened, so I definitely reccomended reading both

This is actually what anime don’t get quite right as much as I love it. The main characters have this long philosophical monologues to try to change the antagonist’s views when in reality, most of the times small sentences can sometimes change a person forever.
EXACTLT there is no long pause in a heated battle. It's going to escalate until one stops fighting or one of you is dead.

Omiman may have beaten opponents with sheer overpowering brute force. But Mark learned to utilise and master psychological warfare. Well done Mark.
The thing is, Mark didn’t do it in a manipulative way. He really still loves his father after everything Nolan has done and said. That’s what makes it more powerful IMO. And I think that’s why Omni-Man had to leave because he didn’t want to keep hurting his son, who despite everything, still loves him.

And Mark just proved them wrong, this kid has a bigger heart than anyone...he almost died, but in the end Mark still sees the good in him

That line was what got me into the show. That hit me so freaking hard I felt that the writing would be top class. I wasn't disappointed. Though there were questionable bouts of how durable a character should be versus how durable we saw them to be a few times. Mark's durability especially seems to come and go for the sake of plot development.
Mark is almost indestructible against blunt force. But throughout the series he gets hit with different Kind of object.

It's interesting to think of how Omni-Man was practicing the speech to Mark for hours, maybe days after killing the Guardians, but even during the fight he's trying to convince HIMSELF as much as he is his son.
This is what happens when you'll be blinded by an Empire ideals since birth.
Why TF does everyone act suprise when Omi Man acts the way he does he's an imperial Officer fuck look at Darth Vader cutting Luke hand for example, this is why Mark still love his dad bc he knows that Omi Man is blinded by the Empire he was born in.
The way Omni-Man takes of tells the viewer a lot if you remember how he taught Mark how to fly. "We don't need to push ourselves from the ground or pivot around, we can move through space freely"
The way that Omni-Man is literally textbook abusive behavior. That one guy is right, and I think it's weird and slightly distrubing that most of us think of that as touching
No, Omni-Man is not touching at all. It's established that Omni-Man is a psychopath already.
But the fact that Mark still loved his father after everything that happened was what broke Omni-Man in the first place. That's what's touching. Because we know Mark would never be able to defeat Omni-Man head-on, so he had to find another way to get through to him. And get through he did.
In this end, when you really think about it, Mark won, because he managed to stop his father from enslaving Earth.

SPOILERS:
Omni Man regretted everything he did, especially when he killed the Guardians because they were his friends which is why he ended the fight quickly so that they wouldn't suffer (except for Red Rush since the pain felt hours for him instead of seconds).
Mark still loves his dad and forgave him after they met again. Nolan actually conquered another planet peacefully without any conflict and he fought against other Viltrumites to protect the planet and its people.
He's not a psychopath. He's just influenced by the Viltrumite teaching since he was a baby until his family taught him humanity.
Although his actions will never be forgiven, he earned his redemption by helping everyone in the universe. He died a hero in the end and appointed Mark as the new Emperor of the Viltrumites.
@@jeffquinz2118 I just stand that, but that mindset of I still love them or they still care is what scares me. I know that Omni-Man cared deep down and maybe that he can be redeemed, but I still find it scary that we as a society see that and think he cared (which is true and it's an amazing way to win) and that while we understand what he did is wrong, we don't think as much to understand why it's wrong. We see the abusive tendencies and even when it's right in front of us, we'll still think he cared, and that's the mindset that keeps people in an abusive relationship. You're completely correct, I just think that it's also scary
@@MelianLimGachaVideos you are right, I did not read the comics but I did see breakdowns of the series years ago and recently I have seen character breakdowns of it. I'm not trying to say that he's a psychopath (that he can't feel emotions), but he is a sociopath (he can turn them off). I know he made the fights (and the deaths) quick, but he still slaughtered them and lives by the rules of a fascist planet (or government). The problem isn't that he doesn't care, I know he does. The problem I have is that I feel people are overlooking just have manipulative and abusive he was doing what he did, and that at the time of doing this he was working from a fascist mindset (that he and his people are superior, and while in the context of the show coming to this conclusionmakes sense, it still is a horrible and terrifying mindset to have because of the damage it does). I know he peacefully took over another planet (I think that's the one where he had Mark's step bro), but my problem isn't with the the lack of peacefulness, it's with the fact he took it over. My problem isn't that he isn't remorseful, my problem is that he still went along with it. When people "just follow orders" other people end up suffering, and that's the problem I have. That we focus to much on the remorse

Not gonna lie I noticed the show poster on a straming site but never watched at first, the constant memes from Twitter, youtube and facebook brought me to the show and I'm so grateful, yes I felt very sad for many characters but I still loved every single episode
