My brain can't wrap my head around 1 person playing like 3 different tracks and one with their feet without looking, I just don't understand how this is possible.
First heard this in middle school at 11 years old when my music teacher played this for the class. I was instantly touched and knew I was listening to something truly remarkable. 32 years later and this piece can still bring me to tears. I wish I was able to thank Johann for his contributions to society and advancements in music. This was well played by the organist. All too often it is played up tempo and you don't get the transitions from one manual to the next.
My favourite Bach fugue played in my favourite English church by my favourite organist. It doesn’t get better than this!!! Thank you, Jonathan and Tom. 💜
Jonathan Scott is one of the great musicians we are blessed to have in the world, and certainly one of our greatest organists. Thank you for your talent. It brings so much joy.
How does one play not just separate from right and left hand but also feet?! Incredible. Along with the harp, the pipe organ is one of my favorite instruments of the classical world. WOW!
That BWV entry gets me EVERY time! Not only is it an amazing piece but to see what it takes to perform it properly (i.e., hands, feet, and, basically, a WHOLE building as an instrument) just makes me well up with awe every time. 🥲
BRAVO! BRAVO! BRAVO! You couldn't of been more perfect on your incredible selection of your choice stops your tempo and interpretation of how You as the performer hear it in your head.
wonderfully played, registered well, makes this piece powerful and much more than an organ piece for beginning students. Proves Bach’s genius of composition and here masterfully played
Didn't we all started exploring Bach on organ with these 8 Kleine Praeludien und Fugen... It feels and sounds as the first bike ride... we fell a several times and still loved it.
Wonderful performance, as usual, Jonathan!! Really wish you would come and visit us down under here in Australia! Meanwhile, keep up those great recordings and videos! Look forward to the next one! 🎹👍
Great, exactly a copy of the Little Fugue played by Virgil Fox in Rotal Albert Hall. I did me too another copy of Fox interpretations with the Toccata e Fuga in d moll (played by him always in Royal Albert Hall) that I recorded in Villasanta and can be heard here in youtube
Very nice, just wish someone could come play this at my Episcopal Church hybred Reuter/Allen. Its a nice organ but hard to find someone that really knows how to play it. I actually liked it better when it was just a smaller Reuter Organ
the Reuter sounded really good, was very bright sounding, but one organist toned it down, then we built a bigger building and the new people didn't think it was big enough, and wanted to expand it, and this was the most cost effective way to expand it. it still sounds very good, just I have been attending there for years and know how good the small Reuter sounded ( it could blast you out if someone played it hard, which was why the last organist toned it down, he didn't really understand pipe organs)
califdad4 Thanks for the explanation. It sounds to me that 'they' fell for the usual bait of more stop-controls for a cheaper price, failing, utterly, to realise that they were not comparing like with like. Sad, but almost inevitable.
Well it was a build up of the smaller 9 rank Organ that cost about 50K and doing it with pipes would have been over 100K Our Rector in the days of getting the Reuter, really picked out this organ well, and would have done the larger building fine, but we had someone pushing to get rid of it ( his friend sold some stupid Italian Galanti Electronic organ ) so this fix was what we had to do to end that guys dream of sticking us with a dumb Galanti, The Galanti salesman even had a expert come out to tell us our 34 year old Reuter was awful and needed to be replaced and instead he told them that it was a lovely organ and would be a shame to get rid of it! Kind of burst the Salesmans bubble LOL
califdad4 Yes, I can imagine! I had a similar experience, when a church agreed to the demonstration of an electronic, compared with their 100-year-old pipe organ. The salesman demonstrated the electronic to a respectful silence. He then played the same piece on the pipe-organ and everyone burst into applause. He lost the job, of course, and they spent the money, with me, in restoring the pipe-organ. That must have been, maybe 20 years ago. The pipe-organ is still there and gives no trouble, of course. What I find it impossible to get across to the 'bone-heads' who ultimately choose the electronic is this: You are NOT choosing between an organ with so many stops and gadgets and another, bigger and cheaper organ with more stops and gadgets. You are choosing between an organ and something else which is an organ SUBSTITUTE. i.e. "Do we want an organ for our church, or another, quite different, instrument, which is trying to sound like an organ and which is cheaper. It's exactly the same choice as between a meal at a good restaurant, with real food, and a McDonald's takeaway, which is so much cheaper and fills you up just the same. It has to faced. There are many fools out there. They see a thing which looks just like an organ console, they see all those stops and buttons and shiny wood (or fake wood) and they are impressed. Add to this the organist who wants a cathedral organ in his church (whether it's needed, or not) and that's what keeps the electronic organs selling. We are back to the old "Our food ain't good, but it's cheap and there's plenty of it." I have recently noticed one seller of electronics, fielding a 4-manual console with all the trimmings, above which there is a pathetic shelf on brackets holding the kind of dummy pipe display which many an amateur would have in their bedroom. This is supposed to impress the client - and I suppose it must do, in some cases! There's one fool born every minute, and I have long ago lost patience with them.
That is strange. There is a button on the console that tays tutti. When you press it a horn sounds. or something like that. Interesting. Strange things on English organs.
JAMES KRAMER I don't usually like TH-cam insults, but I very nearly just spit out my coffee reading your comment. You made my day a fair amount better.

A única explicação é que o pé do organista tem olhos, e pelo visto enxerga muito bem kkk !!
@@thatverydepressedfancylad YOOO GOOD JOB MAN, on the organ?
@@robinder_ indeed, took me some time but I finally got it
About the organist nothing to say. Perfect as ever. But about this organ...WOW. What a sound. Powerful. Magnificent.
This has been one of my favorites for many years. Bach does everything we need in 3 1/2 minutes. Love the performance, and the church is stunning.
Scott Brothers has become my go-to for a performance that Bach would have been happy with. Just wonderful!
I'm so grateful that I was introduced to Bach fugues as a kid; decades and decades of awe and joy.

Hello? The art of fugue ring any bells?\
The right tempo, registration, and correct pedal in the end. Brilliant!
Thanks for sharing! I've never heard it played this fast.

There's this lady that plays fugue in d minor on a harp, it's awesome
I heard this organ in concert in 2007… brilliant organist, lovely church, great memories!
Never heard it played like that. What a huge symphonic sound.
pro tip: watch movies at flixzone. Been using it for watching all kinds of movies recently.

What an amazing performance of the most amazing music possibly composed, out of the many other most amazing music composed, by the amazing Bach!
This peice is some good it just makes me want to FLY HIGHER and feel like THE KING OF THE SKY. Great job!
Another amazing performance by Jonathan Scott! It's lovely to get a close up view of the performance and also the beautiful interior of the church.
Another amazing performance by BACH too ! Stunning

That organ is yours. You owned it and the master work was inspired.
Beautiful Bach on a lovely organ with a master musician. Loved the different views, especially getting to see the pedal work.
huge bass drop hell yes!
Man and machine and nothing there in between! (The power metal band Sabaton uses this is an intro to their song “The Red Baron”)
I love this
This is by far my favourite interpretation of this piece.
Another wonderful and inspiring performance.

He took the last statement of the theme in the pedal an octave down, heh.
That seems to be a frequent choice of organists, and offers a resounding conclusion to a magnificent work of art.
Yeah boy !
That is so impressive!
Preciosa obra, gracias.
Me: Man and machine..
Also me: shhh. Not now. Let bach and organ speak. Sabaton later.
This is the best performance I have heard. BTW, it should be called "BIG" Fugue in G Minor!
There is already a piece called fantasia and fugue in g minor
Its fugue is the "grand" fugue in g minor so give it a shot
