I prefer using built-in features rather than downloading an app for every task:
1. Alfred = Spotlight
2. Moom = Press and hold option+move your cursor over the green button on the top left corner of the window -> move window to left or right
3. Amphetamine = Terminal -> type command "caffeinate". Or "caffeinate -t 600", to keep your Mac awake for 10 minutes
4. Cleanshot X = Cmd+shift+4

Loads of great suggestions. Some seem to repeat or overlap though. Delivered well altogether. I've adopted some of these.

spotlight does everything you showed Alfred does and more. it even gives answers to currency conversions on spotlight itself so you doing have to load google

Over 90% match with my favourites 👍but using Cron instead of Fantastical, Craft instead of both Obsidian&Notion

Hey! if you use app nr.3 Amphetamine, you are able to keep the display of your second monitor on and fully close your Mac book without it having to be on charge

You gotta switch to Raycast from Alfred - it's life changing (I'm an Alfred Powerpack user)
Agreed. Raycast is so much more than an Alfred replacement. For example, you could easily substitute Amphetamine as well with Raycast's "caffeinate" function.

Spotlight can do google search. Or whatever your default search engine is.

You don't need Alfred to do any of the things shown in this video. You can do all of them natively with Spotlight.

But I wish you use Chromium (like he said) instead of WebKit. Really love the way you approached to "vimium" my behaviour. But I switched to Arc just because they use chromium.

Raycast is an amazing, free, and in many ways better, alternative to Alfred. Full of extensions to integrate it with so many other apps!

Ali, thanks for what you do on this channel. I downloaded Alfred and tried to use it as you showed for opening the downloads folder, it it just takes me to Google. Did you have to change some settings to get Alfred to open that directory? Tks

How large is the file recorded generally using screen flow for an hour?
I pay for Macbooks to reduce friction and doing things fast and efficient. Time adds up and its super annoying to wait for basic functions. Mac OS + M1 Chip = best match!

My Favorite Macbook things : Soldered SSDs ( Almost impossible to repair or upgrade) ; Also Overpriced SSDs per TeraByte ( 4x to be exact. 2TB @ Apple --->800$ while on Amazon you can get any top 2TB SSD like Samsung , Sabrent , Kingston , Seagate Firecuda etc.. for 200$ (easily replaceable) . ; Overpriced Soldered RAM by like 3x-4x the price too . Isn't Apple amazing? It truly is like no other... ( PS i ve been an Apple user since 2011 : iPhone and Mac.... Please God change these corrupt peoples' ways, Please.
