Susannetta, sei tu?--Non so piu (Marianne Crebassa)

Marianne Crebassa is, without a doubt, one of the most adorable Cherubinos on the planet. Who could resist those puppy-dog eyes and fawn limbs and sweet personality? Unfortunately poor, sweet Cherubino is treated terribly by the men in this production (Amsterdam, 2016). Even Figaro is mean to him! Grr. However he is loved and cared for by the leading ladies (Christiane Karg as Susanna, featured here) and Eleonora Buratto (Contessa; not here but look for my other Crebassa Cherubino video!) which makes up for it, but it's still not a production that I can watch without skipping some parts because of how they treat poor Cherubino.
Anyway, enough of that. Please enjoy Crebassa's adorable, too-pure-for-this-world portrayal of one of my favorite characters in all of opera.
(Additionally, appreciate the decorations she adds in the aria, especially at the end. No one does that like her.)

Superbe interprétation de Chérubino . Voix très riche et excellent jeu. Une très grande mezzo soprano avec un répertoire déjà tres riche et varié. J'aime beaucoup tout ce que chante Marianne Crebassa. Merci

Marvelous singing. Figaro was correct when he called Cherubino, un farfallo amoresso - an amorous butterfly. He does flit from woman to woman - even Marcellina!

Magistrale et très inspirée interprétation du "non so piu", splendeur vocale... On n'a aucun mal à y croire, il s'agit bien là d'un adolescent comme l'aurait certainement souhaité Mozart !

She is amazing and adorable!!! But the stage direction is downright creepy and weird. Just let her sing it and act it without the weird activity like dumping the laundry on head or trying to accost Susanna... Let Ms. Crebassa sing!

Agreed. Pure eurotrash. Hope it disappears quickly. So many gorgeous singing destroyed by horrid staging.
