    Thank you all for all the videos you post. Was able to revive a Brera that someone else was convinced was broken beyond repair. Have owned a Gaggia Classic and Gaggia MDF grinder for years and have gotten tremendous help through the years from all the videos.

    What frustrates me about this video is that parameters are mentioned without the details! For example, How many grams of coffee per strength setting? It’s glazed over as 7-10g. He also mentions that mugs fit, but not the height... what is the tallest mug that will fit? How many Ounces is the lungo “good brew” that was made? I cannot finish this video. Bummer.

    I bought this machine and I think it's defective, but want to check with you and see if any of you have this experience. Basically, 2 things happen. 1. When I remove the side panel, there is ground coffee everywhere and the drip tray at the front seems to fill on its own (assuming a leak) without the machine operating. It's under warranty so I sent it back to the store for repairs but the technician said this is normal. Doesn't seem normal to me and it certainly doesn't say anything like that in the manual.

      Hi DS, Thanks for the question. Some interior grounds spillage is normal. Be sure to clean those out every once in awhile. During the brewing process some water is purged into the drip tray. Look closely and you'll see the rear two arms of the drip tray to have a small opening at the edge where they meet the front section of the drip tray. So water discharged in the rear will fill into the front section.

      @Whole Latte Love , thanks for your prompt reply. Regarding the drip tray, I'm sure water finds its way to the front somehow, but what I don't get is how it gets filled with water without the machine operating. Sometimes I empty out the tray in the evening and fill up the water tank and when I wake up in the morning, the tray is full once again without the machine operating in the meantime. When it comes to the spilled ground coffee, it appears to be 10-20% of my input in beans. That seems like a lot of waste to me.

    I would like to revert back to the default volume of espresso and coffee pre-programmed on the machine. Could you please tell me how to do this? There is absolutely nothing in the manual or online instructing someone on how to do that.

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Mark, Thanks for the question. There is no factory reset for drink volumes on the Brera. But, very easy to program any volume you like to the coffee buttons using the press and hold method. To do that press and hold one of the coffee buttons until light flashes in the display. That usually happens as the machine starts to grind. release the button and allow espresso to dispense. When it reaches your desired volume press the button again to store that amount. It will then give that amount each time unless you reprogram - even after machine is turned off/on or unplugged. Not 100% certain of these amounts but new out of the box the Brera likely produces about 1.25oz/40ml on the short cup button and ~3oz/90ml on the larger cup button. Hope that helps!
      Marc

      Hi, My guess is you inadvertently reprogrammed the drink length (liquid volume) follow instructions to reprogram to yoour desired drink size.

    I put whole beans in the pre-ground compartment like an idiot. ANy suggestions on how to remove them?

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi tco, Whoops! Open the side door and carefully remove the brew unit and they should fall through. If beans get in the way of removal you can try to vacuum some out from the top or turn the machine upside down while holding the dosing door open.

    Why does my espresso taste burnt on my gaggia automatic machine?

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi DC, Could be the coffee you are using - especially if a dark roast. Other than that, you can make the grind coarser and/or decrease coffee strength setting - the beans in display. Could also try less liquid volume. Burnt and/or bitter flavors tend to come out at the end of the extraction so going with a shorter drink will decrease those.

    How long does it take for the machine to heat up and be ready to use?

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi TT, Warm up is about 1 minute. Turn the machine on, it heats briefly, does a quick rinse of the brew circuit and the Brera is ready to go!

    Why does my machine only dispense coffee out one of the spouts? Even on a double shot? Machine is only a month old?

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi a, thanks for the question. If the machine is not on a level surface one spout may be favored - or drip more than the other. Internally all espresso comes from one source and is split at the spout. There may be an internal obstruction in one of the spouts. You can try and clean with a pipe cleaner or similar.

    Can you recommend espresso shot sizes please? Also make a video on latte art on this machine 👍🏼

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Baker, A single espresso generally runs ~1oz/30ml. A double is twice the size. The stock auto-frothing wand on the machine is not very good for latte art as it injects air continiously causing the milk to be to frothy/airy for pouring art. You can stop air injection during frothing by submerging the air intak hole of the stock wand beneath the surface of the milk. Do that and get a good roll going to breakup larger air bubbles and you can get closer to latte art quality froth. Another option is to remove the autofrothing wand attachment and froth manuallly from the straight steam pipe. Here's a video on manual frothing for beginners: th-cam.com/video/OUywoRs4meY/w-d-xo.html
