He was definitely deeper into "scary/unimpressed Russian mode" throughout this video, rather low on the goofball nerd joking today! You knew it was going to be one of those days when Eric announced to Dr. Mike he was taking off his shirt and just got a muttered "super..." as a response.

Plus, in the video, they'd stated that they'd just gone through a rigorous workout beforehand, so you know both of them had some sapped energy, as well as Mike, likely, still going through prep for his show. Props to them for pushing through and being absolute content machines, though, and being transparent about shit.

@banePlaysGames Eric is Greg Doucette business partner. Mike likely thinks he's a fucking tool, which is exactly how his body language and even language language came across. Its hard to respect someone who does business with Doucette. I think Eric is trying g to save his own reputation and Mike is doing some heavy hazing making him look dumb on camera to let him know how stupid it is to get in bed with Greg doucette

People don’t like to use it because of ego issues but the control and stretch you get off it especially after pre exhausting them with pull downs or pull overs. Just hits the spot. Would've loved to see Mike lean to stretch and feel his lat working more throughout the movements, but he seems to focus more on core stability like a powerlifter just trying to move a weight from point to point. I had a real hard time doing Eric's unilateral exercises till I switched to using the close grip V bar because almost all those single D handles (giggity) have the rotating grip which is difficult to get your versa gripp around, but the V bars are solid allowing a nice solid grip.

Tried the horizontal version yesterday, and the feeling you get from it really kind of mitigates the "lost time" of unilateral exercises. I love the prestretch on machine rows (chest on seat), but this is on another level, and seems to translate to quite a few "real world" pulls as well.
    Thanks mister huge muscle man!

Dr mike, I like the fact that you are open-minded and realize different variations and angles work better for different individuals, as long as it checks all the boxes. I really like starting off with regular lap pull downs and rows, and then finishing off with singles on both. When I do the single rows I visualize myself rowing a boat, so starting off really low and then bringing it up in a gradual natural plain.

I’ve never seen anyone on say they hated dr. Mike’s exercises. It was obvious he had in his head “single arm is trash” which I completely disagree with. I’ve recently started doing a lot more single arm back movements, and I vastly prefer them. Do they take longer to do? absolutely but not twice as long. You don’t rest for nearly as long because one side of your back is resting while the other one is working. Milo Wolf is also not a fan of doing single arm variations. I don’t know why they seem so close minded on at least giving them a fair shot. Maybe because they’re not used to doing them 🤷

I was so pleasantly surprised to hear Eric say “lengthened under load” as this is not only a wonderful way to train muscle but the most effective way to sustain healthy connective tissue! Well done! Loved this video today! I also really loved Mike’s point on preference and how valuable preference is to building your program. There truly are hundreds of exercises with tons of variations. Big happy video!

I don't like unilateral movements, but I do occasionally do them for lats, I do variation of the first one, but I don't brace with other hand, I lean with my shoulder and am turned more to the side so lats are forced in even more stretch by arm wrapping around torso
